If the Quran is supposed to be perfect, then there can be no verses that contradict eachother. So it is a rule in Islam (this is something you should know) that if a later verse contradicts and earlier verse, then the later verse is the superior verse and the one that should be followed. It is called Naskh, there are scholars who reject this, but to reject it would mean the Quran is imperfect.
also the Quran isn't written in chronologically order, and that is an historically early verse.
