The engine is either a 223 or a 262 inline. There is no external way to tell. VIN code or a dowl through the plug hole are the only ways to tell. Not powerful as we know it today but for their time the were a reliable hi torque engine that served in many cars in trucks from the early 50s to 1964. Nice old truck. I love the lift gate.
The engine is a 262. Oil filler cap located towards middle.
