  • the C64 version is better. this game does not have the End.

  • Diabolical!

  • always thought the 5200 version was a lot better then the arcade version.

  • This is good man, great to see the box. I loved this game. Played it on C64 a lot with friends in the early 80's. I just loved the art for the main guy (doesn't look so good in this 5200 version). Rockin'. That phat unison synth riff at the end of each level is great, and the modulating color on the whole screen. Rad.

  • To continue, people bast emulation but the purpose behind it was to preserve our old school games so those people should be grateful instead of viewing emulation as a bad thing. Just saying, I'm as old school as old can get but I see the good in modern technology as well when it comes to saving our old school games we all enjoyed in our childhood. :)

  • This version of Wizard of Wor, Gyruss for the arcade, and Ballblazer for the Atari 7800 have the best video game music...ever.

  • Incredible game, my father and I would play this every night for years. We couldn't care less about the enemies, we were always trying to take each other out.

  • Change the Battery pack!

  • Wizard of Wor? Did they run out of a's?

  • @useless1997 i dont think they mean wor to mean the same thing as war does

  • I used to play this and Archon on my Atari 130XE when I was a child :D

  • i love this game on any console

  • check out wings of wor for the genesis. the box art (especially the cartridge artwork) is utter crap. but you'll love the game.

  • Why?

  • Try it on an emulator dude, this game fucking rocks!

  • Emulators ruin great games

  • Why?

  • @snagglepuss28 but not when the original game is impossible to come by

  • @snagglepuss28 yes, but they also preserve their history...when it gets the point that the physical games are no longer able to work....theyd be lost forever if there werent emulators to keep them around...its only a matter of time until all the consoles and games stop working at all

  • @snagglepuss28 Say that in 50 years when none of the old consoles work anymore and you are unable to play any of your cartridges. Then all the sudden, emulation doesn't sound half bad.

  • @deadlygroove1 I'm not so sure about that. I used to play frisbee with my N64, still works great.

  • @ArbyWanKenobi 50 years from now is a long time bro. Electronics aren't made to last. However, PCs and the internet will most likely still be around as long as the human race is still exists and we haven't blown ourselves up so emulators and roms have a much longer life. Emulation will outlive the real thing. I hate to say it since I am a collector myself.

  • @deadlygroove1 I agree with you there, but nothing beats the real thing. Emlation is great, but when you have the option, always get the original.

  • @ArbyWanKenobi I agree with you dude. Believe me bro, I still have all my gaming consoles since the late 70s to current and I am hardcore but I also realize how valuable emulation is because it preserves all the gaming history and when not one of the original game consoles work anymore, all people will have left is emulation. Retron 3 is still emulation in some way because it is not the original Genesis, SNES or NES console even though the cartridges are. So the real thing is slowly dying. :(

  • @deadlygroove1 So true man. I'd probably already be using emulators if I didnd't have a place right down the street that does repairs.

  • this is another 5200 game i had on my Commodore 64. good times.

  • when the worlock guy comes out i get freaked out....lol......Also, look at 3:53-3:57.....its crazy, but where some classes...please

  • pac man with a gun

    riding a joust bird

  • = awesome.

  • @lemonlimestiv sorry but i gotta correct you there, its like pac man with a gun riding a ASS BIRD =)

  • I wonder how many lawsuits from seizures that the Atari company has had due to games like this back in the day. That's why we have seizure warnings on games nowadays right in the front of the instruction pack.

  • Lol, Yeah mainly from those flashing colours when you finish a level

  • wow.. i kno....... flashing lights....

  • it should have been on the vetrex

  • you read my mind! and, well, every other console ever made!!!

  • i agree!

  • WOR! What is it good for? GAMING!!!

  • lololololol

  • Seen the arcade version when I was just a lad. Seen it...played it....loved it.

  • the cover looks like a cover for one of the old fighting fantasy gamebooks

  • This belongs on Intellivision, with the Intellivoice Chip!

  • its a mix between dig dug and pac man

  • Great Review, that game looks like fun 2-city

  • The game reminds me of pacman.

  • I used to play this on the Atari 2600. I still have it. Used to play this often when it was raining or it was too dark to play.

  • You sure do have a doozy of a camera, mark :)

  • Great game :)

Would be perfect with the speech.

The speech in the arcade machine was provided by the Votrax speech chip, also used it Gorf.

    Good review. :)

  • tense stuff

  • 3:52 Dear god, how were those effects ever allowed past production...

  • Lol, EEYYYEEE RAAAPPEEE

  • Midway, I mean Warner, or whatever company that took over Midway when they suffered bankruptcy, should rerelease this game on 360 or PS3, so we can have another go against the Wizard!

  • I'm really surprised it dosen't have the voice effects. Bezerk has the voice effects, so the 5200 can produce them.

  • This is not great. Fun for 15 mins. is NOT 'great.' I cannot play these titles. They are 'roots' but are not fun.

  • I just realised, the little Guy looks less like a Jaffa on here and more like a guy toting a proton pack and is a Ghostbuster.

Bring back the Jaffa! Stargate rocks!

  • About your voice, man, your voice sounds like an '80's arcade-- fits right in and could have been an arcade hit.

Please on a video please say "all your base are belong to us" just once all monotone, that would be awesome (this is a compliment)

  • ialso never get tierd of those sounds from 1980 and 85 to 87 and 77 and others

  • i like arcade sounds so nice yeaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • 3:52 Holy Crap!

  • a great game...on a shitty console.

  • i love to see some classic games, sadly it seams like you have only been focusing on moderen ones lately

  • I wanna get that box art airbrushed on the side of my van.

  • WTF do you mean this is'nt on Vectrex?! I DEMAND IT NOW!

  • This game looked like Pac-Man crossed with Alien.

  • This is a great game on the 5200...

  • To me, the 2600 and the 5200 games look the same to me. What the big difference between the 2 systems? They are before my time!

  • 2600 has a decent controller 5200 controller licks balls

  • 5:36 Change the battery pack!

  • this is awesome

  • whats the begining song

  • is it just me or is anyone else getting this games music on they're mp3 player?

  • Anyone know what the music is from during the opening title sequence? Sounds like the old band Starship but not sure.

  • his 5200 controller is able to work

  • Never Played???? Way to make a guy feel old! I used to love that game as a coin-op. Does the 5200 version have the PVP aspect to it. I remember in the arcade version you could shoot the other player for points.

  • I have a silly question.. is it Wizard of Wor as in war, or is it Wizard of Wor as in a place called Wor?... just wondering

  • lol at the end

  • I remember at a thrift store years ago (by years ago, I mean late 90's or so), where a Wizard of Wor arcade machine was sitting around, on display in working condition. That was my taste of the game and I loved it. Too bad my mom wouldn't buy the arcade machine for me. :(

  • We all feel your pain, if not for Wizards of Wor, then for some other arcade machine that we once wanted long ago.

  • Even though I never owned an Atari system nore did I ever care about it or (nearly) any of its games. I cant help but watch all of his reviews anyway. My first system was a NES when I was... but a child, so thats just after the Atari =p

Not bad mouthing the Atari systems at all btw, hope it didnt sound like that... Just pointing out how BOSS these reviews are =)

  • wow games have come a long way

  • Well 1993gandy if you consider how far Video games have come even in the last 5 years but early games insisted you have a sense of imagination which then the game developers had to focus on creating unrivaled game play thos why there were so many clones of other games and thats not to say we still don't get clones.

  • its alright for a 5200 game

  • omg i would buy that if i could buy a 5200

  • Actually, I thought the 2600 version was pretty playable.

  • I think the player character looks like a Ghostbuster more than anything else. He has a proton beam and power pack, look!

  • Hmm - the sound effects are BOSS here. Very nice translation.

  • didnt he review this a while back?

  • No, he looked at the 2600 version and one on a PSP compilation disc.

  • the guy you play as looks like Necron 99 from the Ralph Bakshi movie Wizards... coincidence? I THINK NOT

  • Dang, the worluk moves fast in this version

  • i never really understood the difference the Atari 2600 and the 5200, i never had neither but their games look and sound the same, they almost look as the same generation

  • The 5200 is a distinctly more capable system. Just compare this version of Wizard of War to the one on 2600.

  • woah, those sound effects are intense!

  • So awesome,.. i played this on C64 with a greenscreen monitor, it always gave games some kind of extra touch to it.

  • I wish he would review Silent Hill games, along with Left 4 Dead, and Dead Rising.

  • lol, someone likes the dead.

  • i think we would have 30 mins of him crying

  • At the end - "Change the battery pack" FTW!!!

  • classic!!!

  • I had this game for Comodore 64. It was awesome.

  • great

  • Hey where is the vectrax port :(

  • .....Ok i got the spelling for vectrex wrong. All i was saying was i would like to see a vectrex port as a some what run on classic game rooms love for the system. Fucking hell I'm sorry i upset you

  • AntiAP09 Just keep yourself to yourself you just a failed fucking troll please go ass lick someone else. All i fucking said was i would like to see a port to the vectrex and because i happened to misspell the fucking word because i was watching the video while typing Progrock69 said his fucking piece and because you for some reason want to ass suck someone ON YOUTUBE you but your nose in. Grow up for fuck sake and stops calling people retards it doesn't make you look cool prick.

  • I love CGR, awesome vids and they come frequently =D

  • yeah top 50. nice vid

  • Nice review.

Could you review some more games currently out for PS3 / Xbox360 please?.

I enjoy all the reviews even though i don't and can't own any of the games, i would just like to get your review on some more modern games. Something i could consider buying.

  • It's called CLASSIC Game Room for a reason fucktard. He'll review whatever the hell HE wants, and you can go fuck yourself.

  • Wow.. what the hell..

i asked a question, i didn't demand he reviews modern games, i said i would LIKE it.

Note i said i enjoy all the reviews he makes, just because i would like to see something else doesn't mean i don't like whats already being done.

Why the hell are people over reacting? all i did was ask a question.

Thats nice of you too AntiAP09.. I can go fuck myself for asking a question.. we all know who got bullied as a child.

  • Have you not noticed that he does occasionally do modern games? Or are you too stupid or ignorant to see that. Anytime I see something that has pissed me off before more than once, I reply. You just happened to be the unlucky 3rd person to say that.

It's like the "WHY IS THE QUALITY SO BAD" or "3000 RATINGS BUT ONLY 300 VIEWS". Happens too often.

  • Dude chill.. I asked a question, i didn't see the previous questions with the same topic so my bad on that.

I know he occasionally does modern games and i bought Guitar Hero because of his review. I was just simply asking him if he could do some more soon, that's all.

Look this isn't worth arguing over, so i apologize for asking a question that's been asked apparently several times, and i apologize for saying "you got bullied as a child".

    Thanks for replying anyway.

  • It's all good, it's not your fault for not knowing. I'm just used to typing "mean" (quoting a "QUILITY IZ BAD" person) replies to things that I see too much. This is just one of those things that so many people on these videos say. They usually look more like " Review more new games please cause old games suck and nobody care that this is classic game room nobody likes mario anymore you nerd"

I guess that's how I read it. Sorry for overreacting.

  • Its cool :). I see it a lot too, the, omg you cant see the game, omg your voice is annoying, all that kind of crap.

I know where your coming from hehe, anyway its all water un the bridge :)

  • they should turn this in to a iphone app or ATARI 5200 MOBILE

  • I played it also on PSP, on Midway's Arcade Treasures: Extended Play. Never played the 5200 version but it sure look cool.

  • heys on a role

    2 uploads in 1 day .....

    too much entertainment

    thank you :)

  • The first few comment s are always about nothing, just trying to get the first comment,, really?? "cool"

  • cool

  • Nice video.
