Back to the days when they played really great music. I will stand by their side till the end of the world, but Endgame is a goddamn failure compared to this. Tim has one of the best voices in the latest wave of punk rock, they wrote amazing songs, but the new album is simply weak. Hope they come back to the old style, like this one or Revolutions Per Minute.

Well, it's true both styles are different, but that's what makes Endgame worse. Have you noticed how lately bands like Against Me!, Anti-Flag, Rise Against, that once wrote music that was really good, with their own distinctive styles now have similar sound? Compare Endgame to any of previous albums, it really is worse than them. It is good rock album with nice riffs and as always great lyrics, but for me it's most radio-friendly album of all (though live it really kicks ass).

I actually like Endgame more than ATR since Hero of war is way too mainstream and totally destroys Rise Against's reputation. I usually ask everyone of my friends who think that Rise Against is lame to listen to State of the union. Most of them change their minds after that.

@Gurkmassa Yeah, I felt it too, although except for Savior vid (it was as weak as Make It Stop one) ATR was a really good album for me, maybe too warm, blunt in sound, but Kotov Syndrome, Hairline Fracture, Whereabouts Unknown and few more are really great songs. And Hero Of War, yeah, it's ruining RA's reputation, when I heard it, I got chills from listening to it. ATR wasn't bad, but it sounded like something from 90s CA punk scene, like "Smash" or NOFX's albums with different riffs

The whole "real punk" argument baffles me. People hate on bands like RA and Green Day because they are too "radio friendly". But isn't punk supposed to be about exposing people to a message? To me at least, RA are a band trying to convey different ideals and an alternative way of thinking, as well as being the voice against a government that has let is people down. It isn't an elitist movement opposed to "being mainstream"
