If I were you though I would learn tagalog because it is the national language and therefore many many people speak it, I even travel to other countries and there are people who are not filipino blood but they know how to speak tagalog because they used to live in Manila :) Do not feel ashamed!

@s0ulshad0w Probably because we are used to hearing a more Spanish-sounding accent. Which, the Visayan language has an accent very similar to Spanish compared to the traditional accent of Tagalog. :)

@SyverZ Cebuano isnt the right term for that.. Bisaya would be better cuz the Cebuanos arent the only group that can speak bisaya.. like Davao,Iloilo,Negros, and some other neighboring province could also speak it but they have their own slang on how to pronounce such a word!

@rapmili23 I partly agree with you. When I use the term Cebuano, I mean what alot of people call Bisaya, within the visayan language family. The reason for why I use Cebuano, is because I don't want to mix Illongo, Waray or Aklanon or any of the other Visayan languages. The accent within the Visayan language family is different. At least, there is big difference when a Cebuano or an Illongo speaking English. It's so cute when the illongos speak English, it's like they sing :)
