I wished the "radio politics" allowed for more of this "Real Music" to be played and less of the commercial garbage they feed the world every day. Radio has a huge part in our society and is presently one of the major factors for the decay of our cultural awareness.
Itt voltam én is.A baloldali lelátó legfelső sorában ültem.
Nagy kincs!
Look at the full house. Debrecen has population of 200.000. I'm betting todey there would be 200 people in the audience. Oh yes, that socialism was truly terrible.
It will turn out soon. He will play in Debrecen on the 7th, December 2010. A few years ago he played in the Great Calvinist Church of Debrecen with the Hilliard Ensemble, and it was full (i.e. some 3500-4000 people). Socialisms had disadvantages (dictatorship, cenzorship, technological lags etc and economically was unsustainable) and some advantages: there was full (and inefficient) employment, and it supported culture (only that part of course which it tolerated)
Gud 1.. Nice to hear today's Legendary Musician playing long time back...I loved to see the audience, at the end it looks like all are cheering up Boxing champions lol...
holy moly! rare you get to see footage of shankar playing double violin; rare you get to see footage of shankar playing period, and especially outside of shakti; rare you get to see garbarek play with so much fire, any more anyways; and, while the sound here is so muddied it's hard to make out things like how the percussionists are fitting in, it's interesting to hear what these folks sound like outside of ecm studios (dirtier, methinks). thanks for posting this!
Yeah these pieces are from the Song for Everyone album. What a masterpiece! Deep, yet easy too absorb (though the acoustics of this hall is rather "cold"). Those were special days for Jazzfestivals in Central and Eastern Europe, they were like peaceful hippyish antiestablishment celebrations, international get togethers, very similar to rock festivals in the late 60's. I was there, great memories, many thanks TeheranJuice!
