  • Liquid Tension Bebob n Dorian Petrucci my favorite than dark metal Petrucci. Its so funny that Petrucci is so versatile in his guitar playing people actually talk like theres more than one of him SICK!!!!

  • when train of tought comes petrucci change a lot..... but sometimes he still have that taste in his solos anyways he is amazing...

  • Petrucci, please go back to your jazzy style. Enough with the metal, lol.

  • Where the hell is he getting all these amazing backing tracks

  • @DavidL1432 he's making them i'm sure lol

  • @ironwolg i want him to make me some!! lol

  • nice stuff from john!!!

  • sounds like he was exploring jazz during these years

  • @mojoefly He seems to have always been a jazz guy though, liquid tension with him had many many jazz-ish funk-ish songs and bits, i like this style of his playing better than today's playing

  • strange..he's playing like a man with a soul here..

  • is this an actual song? if it is can someone tell me the name?

  • @sfh113 i think: gemini

  • This Petrucci had more soul, but now Petrucci is a fucking badass

  • @VanishingDigital Well put.

  • Nice Sweater.

  • black sweater Ibanez Petrucci equals my favorite Petrucci, Short hair petrucci look like porn star, Petrucci now looks like my dads drinking buddy. Guthrie Govan, Shawn Lane All great guitarists all great champions! all my favorites in a world of crappy guitar players

  • Petrucci was a lot more fusion oriented back in the 90's and that enriched his melodies and style, now he's just wanting to be the best and fastest cuz he gets recognition out of that.

  • RIP 90s Petrucci, you will be sorely missed.

  • NAME OF THE SONG PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i miss that ibanez. his musicman sounds great but i was raised on and love ibanez guitars

  • what is the name of this introduction song?

  • over reaction of the year? relax. they're just praising him, theyre allowed to

  • @langestock hehehe this is true a a biggest fuckin OVER REACTION!!! what a stupid guy noteworker is

  • @NOTEWORKERnm1 you satanist!!

  • 1:39 love those notes!

amazing solo. the petrucci who got my attention and inspired me!

  • In my opinion this jp was far better than the now, much sense of melody with fusion licks and chromatic notes, it feels more interesting than the current shreder he is nowadays

  • Maybe you should go and show him how it's done then, oh wait a minute, you cant. BECAUSE YOU'RE SHIT

  • Oh this musta been in about 1 B.C after he started shredding and killed christ at 4 million notes per second

  • dude, he is christ!

  • this is amazing this must be pretty old though, what year was this??

  • 1995

  • love it when he does stuff like this

  • Today's Petrucci is only competing with this guy in the video 90's Petrucci

  • @f22turboaccord its impossible to compete with his 90s beast-self

  • @f22turboaccord guthrie govan?!?

  • my greatest guitarist influince is john petrucci

  • He seems to be really influenced by the blues. Hm. Too bad you don't really hear him playing this anymore.

  • See I think you're wrong. I think he taught himself the blues after the other stuff.

  • Yeah that could also be totally possible.

  • he got into blues after hearing Stevie Ray Vaughn which was after hearing Steve Morse, whom JP has said on numerous occasions is his favorite player

  • he is very melodic in my opinion

  • NO john petrucci biggest influince is steve moores not blues

  • somebody knows the name of this song?? please i really need it!!

  • @portnoy2045 I believe it was just an onstage improvisation, kinda like Bombay Vindaloo from "Live at the Marquee".

  • @sanctusignis ohh i think you are right, thanksss dude!!!

  • @sanctusignis no..it was filmed during the bands sound check in 94

  • best petrucci era from all aspects

  • totally agree, the phrasing, everything...

  • Definitely.

  • This is one of the most beutiful solo that I have listened... This is only pure technique...

  • check my video to his solo from this video.

  • hey gringos no comenten o si comentan aganlo en español

  • si tan orgulloso estas de tu lenguaje al menos escribi bien, haganlo se escribe burro ^^

  • naco pendejo

  • Yer the Ibanez is much nicer, I really want one of those guitars.

  • petrucci's the god!! btw does anyone know where this was performed (if at all this was performed at any live concert)n if yes, what's it called

  • goddamn i wish he played like that now even though he's still amazing.

  • I must say this Petrucci had a better tone with the Ibanez than with the Music man and its sad cause i actually like his playing more with the Ibanez.

  • Agree totally...

  • I agree but I don't think it's the guitar because the music man guitar is amazing!! his playing has changed ...

  • sickest motherfuckin guitar player ever period...fuck the rest. while not all the rest but most.

  • isnt

  • yea gilberts technically better, and when picking faster you can still hear all the notes unlike petrucci. i still enjoy john but i agree with some of the other comments, his playing has changed for the worst, he did play "better" with his ibanez. not to down him or anything i just think paul overall more musical with his shred.

  • paul has better articulation and precision than petrucci, but than almost everyone else as well. they are my two favorite, but petrucci is way more melodic and is a better songwriter. both have their own things, and they are both amazing. his playing has changed fot the best, in my opinion. he is more diverse, more technical, more melodic, has a better sound, and a more defined style. paul too. paul and petrucci... who wins???? THE MUSIC WORLD

  • i totally agree, and i think that jp is a better songwriter. it seems like when i listen to pg solo releases i hear alot of robin trower which i dont really care for. but if you watch pg play in yellow matter custard he can play just like george or completely rip the best improv solo... but i really liked suspended animation too. so youre very right.

  • yeah. when i saw "while my guitar..." i was totally impressed by paul's solo, and i think it shut up people who say paul doesn't have any feeling or emotion. that solo was perfect. and he has amazing solos in mr big and his solo albums, but in that matter petrucci is doing better. his only solo album is up there with satriani's and vai's, in my opinion

  • i wish every DVD had an intro like this

  • i keep it in my favorite!

  • he is so good.

  • he is so God
