Just beat Grandia for the first time, and goddamn man--One of THE BEST games I have ever played. Definitely up in my Top 5. Got so much chills down my spine when this music started playing at the Icarian City. "Justin: Let's go together, Mullen. We can fight! If we all put our strength together, we'll be much stronger than Gaia! Mullen: Can I... Fight... Once again...? Have I... too... been given the protection of the spirits...?" That was my favorite Dialogue in the game. GameArts is the BEST.

I have honestly never played Grandia before. I heard it's really good. I can honestly imagine it to be good since it's made by Game Arts, and Game Arts made my favorite game of all time: Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete. This Mullen guys theme reminds me of Leo's theme from Lunar 2 too. Music rocks too since it's by Noriyuki Iwadare. So do any of you guys recommend this game?

@MrChronos1 I think both would benefit greatly from a remake, but FFVII needs it more because Grandia has aged better IMO. Grandia's 3D isn't as jarring as FFVII's legomen :P

A few words: This Game Needs A 3D Remake. I mean several old video games have gotten remakes with updated graphics, why not this one? And they could have some more voiced cutscenes too! I woul die happy if that happened!

This game is over ten years old, and even today it still gets appreciation. The true mark of an amazing game. The music is so well composed, and was one of the main reasons I fell in love with the game.

From the reading of your guys comments I can only guess the game gets better. Right now Im really put off playing it. The voice acting is especially bad. There isnt even an option for turning it off!

@QwoPhasaArius I have to admit, that is one of the weaknesses the (in my case) german version had (At least when spoken german, the other parts in english language speech I'd rate good), they are really bad at some points, but there aren't THAT much sound samples and well, the epic story, the music, the gameplay, bonus quest and the love & details they packed in the game make that point more than vanish. Where you are right now in the game? ^^

Ah not very far at all. I was really, really put off. I had just beat the guardian bird after escaping from inside the ancient ruins. I saved there and havent gone back to it. Bleh

I seem to really have a problem with a lot of localisations. Maybe its because of where Im from, but its not just the bad voice acting that gets to me, its that god damn American accent that gets under my skin and shits on my soul.

And the music, I have to say, was very disappointing. Noriyuki Iwadare is one of my favourite music writers as he worked on the Lunar and Langrisser series. Although the music was good, it was really repetitive. Also the game camera drives me insane, you can never see where you are going, and those spots where it lets you look over head just further proves the cameras faults.

The fighting system was also messy and too easy, and from reading of reviews and watching youtube videos the game doesnt get at all any harder as it goes on, and I strive for a challenge. I dont think I will be going back to this game anytime soon unfortunately ;'/

As far as I recall, I never met a Challenge HARDER in an RPG than The Tower of Temptation later in the Game...Soldiers Tomb and Castle of Dreams are pretty tough as well.

@AstralImperfection Hmm.....ok but this has the need of beeing able to understand and read the japanese language ^^ A little bit too much in my case, would kill the fun :P And I think it's actually quite good translated, as there are sayings in each different languages that never can be translated, in some cases even not been understood because they have historical background. Would feel strange I guess. But well, everyone as he likes it.
