He doesn't speak of his personal life, but there are certain songs that suggest that he's an athiest, notably "the Prayer Position" from Black Sails in the Sunset.

This also means that he's never publically came out of the closet, if there is even a closet for him to come out of. I have my doubts. I'm gay, and would be thrilled to have that in common with Davey, but I'm dubious.
