Two national communities, Jewish and Arab, existed in the former British Mandate of Palestine, both were known as "Palestinian," which, at that time, didn't refer to any specific nationality but merely to residents of the Mandate. The Palestinian Jews supported compromise and the creation of a Jewish state AND an Arab state.
You try and keep up.The Arabs rejected compromise and sought to ethnically cleanse the country of all the Palestinian Jews with violence. Not only has there been a continuous Jewish presence in the Land of Israel for 2000 years, Ashkenazi Jews have been here also for hundreds of years. (The first recorded arrival of Ashkenazi Jews en masse was in the 1200s, later large groups arrived from the 1700s onwards.) Additionally, Zionist ideals are dear to Mizrahi and Sephardi Jews too.

Ashkenazim are just under half of Israel's Jewish population, and they have their roots in Eretz Yisrael just like other Jews do. They were foreign in Ukraine, Poland, Germany, etc., but here they live in their own country.

It so happens that I was raised religious family. Personally, I abandoned religious Jewish practice and belief, but I can never abandon being a Jew any more than a black person can become white. Some of them do indeed trace their roots further than 18 generations. However, all Jewish roots in the country precede any Arabs in this land. Ashkenazim, Sepaharadim, and Mizrahhim are the literal descendants of the ancient Israelites. And it's also true that millions of Israeli Jews have ancient Hebrew/Israelite roots and never abandoned the ways of their ancestors and cherished the hope to return to the land of their forefathers. I agree that Israel must give up *most* of the WB (with or without swaps). As for Gaza---that's already been empty of Israelis since 2005--but Jerusalem--no, never. The Pal. Arabs will have to not only give up the idea of any "right of return" but realize they will NEVER have any of Jerusalem as their capital.
If you want peace, you got to be realistic. No Palestinian leader will be able to sign a deal without getting the Arab part of Jers. as their capital. First the two sides should agree with the borders and exclude discussions of the refugees and Jer. Get people on both sides agreeing to a two state reality than deal with Jers. and the refugees later. Of course, the Pals will have to show they are one govt and a serious ceasefire agreement has to be in effect before this.
I'm plenty realistic and I advocate a two-state solution, but it's actually completely unrealistic to consider dividing Jerusalem again. Re-dividing Jerusalem and so-called "refugees" being given permission to live inside Israel are 2 issues that no responsible Israeli government should consider. The rest is negotiable. If the Arabs demand Jerusalem, fine, but, they won't ever get it.

Some of them do indeed trace their roots further than 18 generations. However, all Jewish roots in the country precede any Arabs in this land. Lieberman has long been on record for the establishment of a Palestinian Arab state and supports equal rights AND equal duties for Israel's Arab citizens. Nazis never called for integration of Jews in society. The fascination that some have with the fact that Lieberman worked as a doorman during his university years is also strange. There are 14 Arab MKs--it's not a matter of "letting" Arabs in the Knesset--they stand for Knesset, and if they get enough votes, then they are elected. You are confusing Israel with Iran, which has exactly ONE Jewish member in its Majlis (Parliament)--by Iranian law, the Jewish community is allowed to have only one representative.

I want peace as much as anyone but for there to be peace you got to look at both sides and see both sides will need to sacrafice. Israel will have to give up Gaza and the West Bank with swaps and East Jer. The Palestinians will have to give up on their demand of right of return.
Being an assholes like the people in this video doesn't do anyone any good.

I agree that Israel must give up *most* of the WB (with or without swaps). As for Gaza---that's already been empty of Israelis since 2005--but Jerusalem--no, never. The Pal. Arabs will have to not only give up the idea of any "right of return" but realize they will NEVER have any of Jerusalem as their capital.

If you want peace, you got to be realistic. No Palestinian leader will be able to sign a deal without getting the Arab part of Jers. as their capital. First the two sides should agree with the borders and exclude discussions of the refugees and Jer. Get people on both sides agreeing to a two state reality than deal with Jers. and the refugees later. Of course, the Pals will have to show they are one govt and a serious ceasefire agreement has to be in effect before this.

I'm plenty realistic and I advocate a two-state solution, but it's actually completely unrealistic to consider dividing Jerusalem again. I am a Jerusalemite, my family has been here many generations and there is no way Israelis will go back to the situation that existed in this city between 1948-1967, when barbed wire ran across neighborhoods with snipers taking potshots at people who got too close to the border. It's a non-starter.

Re-dividing Jerusalem and so-called "refugees" being given permission to live inside Israel are 2 issues that no responsible Israeli government should consider. The rest is negotiable. From my perspective, Israel should make territorial concessions on most of the West Bank and evacuate some (not all) settlements there. If the Arabs demand Jerusalem, fine, but, they won't ever get it.
