Must be fire training on Goodfellow in TX. I used to be an ATC then AETC missile systems instructor at Chanute till they closed it in 93 with a brand new fire school there - missile training went to Vandenburg and fire training went to Goodfellow. What a waste the old base is now (Chanute) rotting in place for the most part when it was a perfect place for what we trained.
They are new fire trainees - AB on the helmets means E-1 Airman Basic - same rank they come out of boot with. They are likely getting them used to the feel of the saw first.

Regular saw with different chain and a stop to keep the depth and prevent foot injuries. Guess it's better than axes and jack poles my uncle used 40 yrs ago.
