A portrait of schizophrenia. It's been stated that over 40% of those who give care to loved ones with this disease suffer from severe depression themselves. RIP Ian.
@bgbreakdown Ian suffered epileptic fits and his medication made him depressed, his wife was also about to divorce him at the time. I think this song is more about him
This song is about an imaginary woman who has epilepsy. Ian had epilepsy, so it is sort of biographical. Although I don't know why he felt it necessary to describe the protagonist as a woman. Maybe he felt epilepsy was a weakness.
ian wrote this song because well dont quote me on this but i believe because he saw a girl having a seizure etc etc.. im not sure though just google shes lost control song meaning.
Love this band:) I live in Macclesfield where Ian Curtis lived and my Dad knew him which is how i got into these but whether im from Macc or not this is an amazing band

I could live a little better with the myths and the lies,
When the darkness broke in, I just broke down and cried.
I could live a little in a wider line,
When the change is gone, when the urge is gone,
To lose control. When here we come.????

@5speed735i If you're meaning that you think women are weak, shut the fuck up or THIS woman will beat you to a bloody pulp, bastard.

joy division was one of those bands that could take the place that the beatles, led zeppelin, pink floyd and more left empty.

Very well done. I like the font. Old typewriter-style. Very appropriate, because sober. Thanx a lot.

@5speed735i because the first epileptic fit he saw was from a woman , and she died having an attack
