@ilian51378 only thing that will help a little is to sand them down a bit. doing that can scratch up your window pretty bad if your not careful. if they were layered into the middle of the glass it wouldn't be an issue but unfortunately they are manufactured on the glass and there is NOTHING that will remove them completely if you wanna keep a scratch free window.
@Vic3D next time you get one film how you remove them id love to see it! you would be the first person ever to film it. i've only seen pictures of people taking a lot of hardware off the remove them.
Very cool and informative! I've never heard of the dotrix stuff before. Good to know. Thanks. BTW, whats it like to get that stuff off later? As easy as tint?
Thats a good video :D but in europe we have the old models of peugoet 106 and 306 the back window have the matrix dot all the way around the vindow in about 3-4 cm you cannot use the black vinyl to cover it up... DAMN PEUGEOT!
@chevybox9 haha im glad to see ya got it :) those doors can be tricky to get the hang of because it shows the side of the window as it rolls down. on a regular door window on the tall side i cut from the top to bottom. on the windows you mention i only cut from the middle of the tall side to the bottom. still shift my patter over the same and then when i cut the top edge i roll the window very far down so i can cut out the whole top edge and the side that comes out to connect my lines.
very nice vid! your vids have helped me lots in tinting and now I am able to do a respectible job instead of shitty creased tints. I am still not 100% good but they say practice makes perfect! Shame I can't buy this stuff in Malta :(. I was wondering would you have any tips for the back window? When I'm shrinking ( i use Suntek) i always get small tint creases and can never get a perfect back window, it seems to be a problem with my technique. Thanks again and PLEASE keep posting vids!
@MatthewRizazzo ill do some "how to" videos on shrinking. it basically comes down to practice and you may just not be shrinking it enough before you card the film. if too much tint collects in one area it has no where to go so it folds on itself. you can also check out my "how to tint a back window" video. it has a few tips on shrinking.
Is there any reason why after emailing you direct twice and going through your company's website for a quote, nobody ever contacts me back>?? Your videos and website are there to generate business and no one seems to want mine..... Very Frustrating!!!
@TheArtisansWorkshop wow I'm really sorry about that but the reason i didn't email you back is because i can't find one i every received from you. i answer every quote a see theres no way we would just pick to ignore you. what is the car? i don't know who answers the quote emails directly through the shop at the moment. best way to contact us is to call us at 313-274-2300 mon - fri 8-6 sat 8-4
Hi Matt, Thanks for the Videos! I have a question. I have an 03' Chevy Tahoe. I'm gonna be tenting the front 2 windows. Just by visually inspecting it seems like the side view molding won't allow me to make a template that's gonna fit accurately once I put it on the inside. Seems like it won't cover the entire window because the molding is going to force me to stop leaving the tint more narrow than it should be. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
Hey matt, What about the dot matrix along the side of the rear window? Is it not big enough to be a problem just tint right over it? And where can we buy this dottrix?
@ImDanimal85 2 very good questions i didn't talk about in the video.
1st is its not a fix for the thin matrix on the sides. best thing to do is let the window completely dry out (this can take a few days) then press the tint back down with your finger
2nd is a found 2 sites that carry dotrix rolls. 44tools.com and zolalist.com the roll is a lil over 100$ but id try emailing them if you want a shorter section just for a car or 2. i haven't talked to zola but i deal with 44tools.com and they would
How can I remove the Dot Matrix?
ilian51378 1 week ago
@ilian51378 ceramic dots on the glass cannot be removed but the dotrix vinyl can be removed just like window tint.
TintStuff 1 week ago
@TintStuff So, I cannot scrape them with a razor or something like that?
