  • Whats that second song's name at the end???

  • @holveragtz The song is called "Love don't stay". There is another live video on youtube of that song.

  • @vagabond197979 sick! thanks!!

  • It's funny I hear alot of white snake, Molly hatchet, queen riffs in this!...still good with Sykes! :)

  • I have to cover hellbound.

I dig this singer and this band. Awesome.

These Tygers can eat all the other bands for breakfast.

  • Thank you soooo much for posting! I met them around this time after a gig in Barrow (Cumbria, north-west England) in this year or maybe 1980. They were promoting the Spellbound album and JJ Sykes hadn't been with them long. There was less than 50 people in the gig, but they rocked anyway! Met them in a local Chinese take-away afterwards, where they signed autographs and chatted. Lovely bunch of guys and JJ was sooooooooooo shy!

  • @rockandroll63 Awesome story. I wish I could have seen them around that time.

  • The singer is so gay.

  • ubitacno tacna pesma

  • Bruce Dickinson "one of the greatest heavy metal singers" ???? Good on record but can't sing live to save his life, never could!

  • @69johnholmes He couldn't back in the day because he didn't know how to take care of his voice, and nowadays his range is a little limited due to age. I still think he's killer live.

  • @69johnholmes thats bullshit

  • @69johnholmes

Bruce was on stage singing 200-300 nights in a year! for 2-4 hours a night!

You have got to be kidding me, I'm guessing you are joking ; or extremely naive.

  • @69johnholmes FUCKTARD you don't know SHIT!

  • @69johnholmes WTF? Bruce is one of the greatest live vocalists ever. Have you even tried listening to "Flight Of Icarus" from "Live After Death"

  • rock and roll as it has to be!! Thumbs up!!!! and alsoo...\m/

  • You've got Killers? Hellbound? Fireclown? on 80's video? if you do, please upload them it would be awesome dude! :D

  • @RoybertitosFan1 Sorry, this is all I've got. I would love to see vids for those as well!

  • Cool!

  • Awesome!

  • Rocks! \m/

  • Bruce Dickinson's one of the greatest heavy metal- singers, and that's not the question of "like-it-hate-it". His voice stays so clean in so high notes in so hard songs.

And his great in live, unlike this fuckin' cover version of david coverdale and robert plant over there

  • First band I ever saw live (I was15), Manchester Apollo 1982. Fantastic gig - and I got their autographs, sad fan that I was/am! The band with the same name knocking around today aren't a patch on the NWOBHM one.

  • can i get a DVD of this show?

  • this rock :)

but sounds like tie your mother down of queen

    just faster XD

  • @MCRemofan90

That reason for the similarity is that this is extremely blues-inspired metal. So many early metal bands were simply blues with distortion. Tie your mother down is the same deal, it was a blues riff played with some distortion over it.

  • looks like the leadsinger is trying to copy the body movements of Robert Plant from led, funny

  • Wtf are you checking out the guy's body for anyway ? Are you a fag ?

  • ....

  • . . . . I'll take that as a yes, faggot. The Culture Club videos are on another page.

  • .......

  • ....... Wtf ? NO, I won't send you nude pictures of me. Get the fuck outta here faggot.

  • i was just waiting for you to say something really stupid to make my point. You are such an ignorant person. that's all i have to say, and i have no need in saying anything bad to you. i never lower myself.

  • You watched a video with John Sykes and two Les Pauls in it, yet you ignored those things, as well as the rest of the band, and you focused in on the singers' hips. That not only makes YOU extremely ignorant and dumb, but it makes me think you're a faggot as well and you probably are. That was my point. I've lowered myself to communicate with an ignorant dumb cocksucker who watches Rock videos on youtube so he can check out men in tight pants.

  • wow i cant believe you wrote all of that just to give meaning to this meaningless comments that do nothing but to waste our time.

    Congratulations, you have won.

  • I always win at everything.

  • From the wild cat album, their greatest.

  • No it's not

  • The 'No it's not' is a reply to an earlier text, The song is from Crazy Nights. Not Wildcat. A live version of the song was released before Deverill had actually finished writing the lyric. He didn't tell anyone and nobody noticed until the record was out and people suddenly started realising that words were complete gobbledegook. Bless.

  • Incredible. Great riffs, solos, singing. NWOBHM bands just had so much more talent than the junk called metal released these days.

  • when i was about 8 years old i discovered Iron Maiden and heavy music, since then i've been listening to heavier and heavier stuff, but just recently i discovered how damn good the old NWOBHM bands are. by now im 14 years old.

  • Me too! Although I'm 31 now, so I was lucky enough to get into music in the 80's, twas a glorious time!

  • Veeeery good old times!Thank God there were rock musicians even before YouTube!Hail to John Sykes and his Company!

  • Great to see this again.Brings me right back to my school days. Excellent !! Thanks for posting.

  • more more more more ... please

  • man that was a great performance, wish the vocals were just a bit louder, but still amazing, didn't expect any less from them

  • says the fag who listens to Rinôçérôse ,so now we know your preference, men with hairy chests lol@ you

  • Damn. First time I hear of this band and this is exellent! I'm a fan now.

  • is jess cox there?????

  • This isn't Jess, it's Jon Deverill

  • hell yeah, next year they are in playing in Holland! :D

  • john is so planty lol

  • If there's any more of TOPT with John Sykes, then please post. Real music

  • search for tygers of pan tang spellbound, then look at related videos. also I believe The Cage featured Sykes, search!

  • who;s the singer?

  • Jon Deverill

  • Thanks

  • Good ol' rock and roll! Sykes is the man.

  • Long live the Tygers!

  • I prefer the tigers of poon tang.

  • connoisser

  • Should be called "Raised on Crack"

  • Yeah, raisedonrock, thats my name!

  • Reb Weir is teh suck

  • The singer is obviously trying to be Robert Plant - according to his movements. But tygers rule, I like Jess Cox era better :)

  • true

  • Cool riff

  • Where is Jon Deverill these days?

  • Why on earth were Deverill and Sykes wasting their time with this lot? I once saw them around this time in Newcastle and the audience were shouting for Jess Cox (the original singer who was from the North East but who was fucking shit) Guess some people just don't appreciate talent when they see it.

  • I was around in 1979 for the NWOBHM the best time for music. I saw TOPT a few times as a fairly average support type band pre John Sykes. Once he joined they transformed into a real hard rocking outfit. A salute to Sir John Sykes who transformed 3 metal bands - TOPT, Lizzy & Whitesnake. You sir, are a legend.

  • Just saw them live here in Camden, London at the Underworld. They rocked :) met them after the show too, really cool bunch of guys.

  • actually good to see a talented band who has good guitarists who are'nt all a bunch of Yngvee Malmsteen wannabees or however you spell his name.teh singer reminds me of Tommy Carmody ,my brothers older siinger-

    Fred in Croydon,Pa

  • personally he reminds me of skid row's sebastian bach, who obviousely came out later.

  • This band has been through many personnel changes over the years, but this line-up was particularly good.

  • nwobm 4 life

  • Thanx a lot for posting !

I've bought their albums "spellbound" and "Wild Cat" in the early eightees of last century.

    They really really rock !

NWOBHM ruled and still prevails !

  • who the fuck sre these guys, not bad

  • saw them at reading in 80 i think, whitesnake where headline, tygers and slade where best there

  • Sounds like Early Iron Maiden or Saxon. Good shit.

  • New Wave Of British Heavy Metal For Life!!!!!

  • Tygers of Pang Tang! I'm only just-turned 29 but I remember these guys pretty well. As a kid (late 80s) I was getting bootlegs of these guys, and a few other lesser-known but EXPLOSIVE bands...diamondhead, etc. good stuck thank you!!

  • Funny, cause I'm 36. And I first heard about them in Kerrang. And Metal Mania, but I was living in the SF area. THE Metal capitol in the 80's. I loved Wild Cat, Crazy Nights & Spellbound, also. The Cage was pretty good also!!!! Metallica was really into them in their early days. NWOBHM!!!!

  • so awesome thank you for posting

  • Cool...I bought the Crazy Nights album taht this is from when it came out. The singer is a bit over the top on the cock rock singer role tho.

I gotta say I liked the original singer Jess Cox better, though he was not as talented as a singer. He gave it some grit. Like I prefer DiAnno to Dickinson in Maiden.

  • fuck yeah DiAnno destroys that Dickinson twat.

  • Hmm... I really like both of them. DiAnno is more like what youd expect from a NWoBHM singer, but Dickinson rocks as well, he's more like... timeless, like Dio. But he could never sing a song like Strange World, just like DiAnno could never sing Children of the Damned.

  • Nobody sings Purgatory like Paul, Bruce version is awful haha, still Dickinson is truthful the voice of Iron Maiden.

  • They don't sound that bad

  • Just saw them Live on sat, Fucking Flawless to their Songs, Their support was friggin awesome too!

  • Your breath!

  • N.W.O.B.H.M !!!!!!!!

  • brilliant band from whitley bay wayhay lads!

  • Very cool that you discovered the mighty Pan Tang Angry. I'm 32 and heard about Tygers from a friend when I was 25. He asked me if I'd ever heard them but I thought he was joking around. To my dismay, he invites me over and puts the needle onto to Spellbound. Wow! What a badass album. Since then I have found Wild Cat on vinyl but Spellbound is a tough find unless you shell out the bucks.

  • awesome! never seen this before.

  • I am discovering TYGERS FOR THE `1ST TIME 2NITE CAUSE I WENT LOOKING FOR BLUE MURDER VIDEOS

this is kick ass material...how HAVE I gone this far in life w/out hearing them...I'M 36 and pretty damn knowledgable on all things metal

  • Haha 14 and I know this band =P, can't say they are the greatest though. Far from it actually. Still very good.

  • never thought to find a vid of this band. brings back memories from long ago. great, great !!!

  • JS sacude esas cuerdas¡¡¡

  • This song sums up my life !!!

  • One of my favorite NWoBHM bands!! Fantastic video!!!

  • Damn! I would like to see the whole show. I saw them live in 1981 at two gigs. At the Park Pop festival in Den Hague and a few days later in the north of Holland Groningen at an other smaller festival. They smoked!

    John Sykes is the man!

  • Shame they never toured the US

Did meet original singer Jess Cox

  • Just like me!

  • If someone ever asks me what it means when I say something "rocks", I might just have to show them this.

  • Right....

  • excellente anybody have the tab for this song and can you post more of this show

  • HELLBOUND!!!!

  • SPELLBOUND!!

  • Right...

  • The Tygers were great.there first 3 albums rock yes even Wild Cats without John but Spellbound and Crazy Nights are awesome albums.Sykes is a great guitar player,to bad he don't get to tour much in the states at all.

  • WOW,My favourite Tygers song.I saw these at Hull City Hall in 1980 or whenever it was.The early 80's was great for metal,Motorhead,Maiden Saxon etc

  • Coolest name ever for a band.

  • i'm still a Tygers of Pan Tang, thanks for the video

  • Thank You Pan Tang never hit the States they would have hit it big at the time right sound right era

  • NOT from OGWT- they did Love Potion no 9 and Running out of Time on that. This is from another BBC show called Something Else and is from September 1981.

  • Thanks for clarifying that. I never knew which show this was actually from. I posted the OGWT tunes about two weeks ago but YouTube took 'em down because of copyright infringement.

  • Old Grey whistle test? There's some DVD of this program? Waw, I'd saw lot of pretty fuckin' shows from this like Runaways, Iggy Pop....awesome.

But fuck hell, I should get somethin' of this band immediatly, I'm a NWOBHM addicted!!!\m/

  • old grey whistle test footage

  • I love the Tygers!!!NWOBHM rules!!!\m/\m/\m/

  • good,they do it good!

  • These songs (Raised On Rock and Love Don't Stay) are from the Crazy Nights album, so probably the videos are from 1982 too.

Don't you have anything else from this tv performance (an interview, for exemple)?

  • Nope, these are all I've got.

  • Hell yeah im interested.Ilove this early 80's shit. thanks for posting
