Always been a fan of the Aliens trilogy movies, and been let down by every game that has been released based on it. Sure, they start out freaking you out for a few hours, then it wears off, and you find the truth is the games were cheaply made, and thrown out the door. I do believe something awesome could be made from the concept.. but considering the fact the game is scheduled for release in the spring, and with practically no substantial game play footage released, honestly I'm skeptical.

@coldheartd17 I dont think so. This is a game thats focused strictly on the original storys. Why does everyone want a avp like game anyway? They have been terrible so far... infact if that had an alien campain, I wouldnt buy it.

@ChupiTheTerrible Probably? I hope the delays are because they are trying to make the MULTIPLAYER excellent! Experience has shown that games with coop ONLY won't make good games because bots suck! But with AVP (1999) the multiplayer bots were, extremely well! Allthough they tend to simply charge at you, alone or in groups. There were no "smart" aliens that sneak up on you. They were mainly "good" because of their numbers (you would get overwhelmed!) and some would dodge you, occassionally...
Iether this or silent hill really scare shit outta you. red faction feels bit like this the new one due to release. the (ai) feels crazy hovering over your head in pitch black, while you hide in corner looking at your radar. then bang they work on you. absolute blast!!!

Hey everybody, it's me, coopermbarrett, an I heard new from ALOT of video-game websites saying that Aliens: Colonial Marines is going to be on E3 2011!!! This is really big news because we can now see more info on the hugely ancticapated game. But I found out the reason why it got delayed, its becuase of 3 reasons:
1. Duke Nukem Forever developement.
2. MANY people got fired.
3. (Biggest Reason) They have completely recreated the game in the process because of all that has been going on.
Wow this is gunna be the most ground breaking game since Duken Nukem forever oww..... I mean since Black Mesa oww I mean this game will be good if it comes out.

@Droidek74415 Well, actually, it's been in production even longer then that. It was originally a game for Playstation 2 back in like, 2002... So yeah, this ought to be good, the game's been going on for like eight years.
It will be really cool to see both Warriors and Drones in one installment. Ofcourse we had them in Aliens versus Predator 3 as different skins for multiplayer but it werent the same thing. But what i think is really odd is their choice to use the Drones as scouts. I rather think they would be used like a warrior only that its stronger but slower and Runners would be used as scouts instead. Becouse if you watch AVP 1 the drones are really powerfull capable of reletivley easy kill the Predators.
From what I've heard, the games puts you in charge of some marines sent to find ripley, the marines who went with her and their ship: The sulaco.
It also says that the facility from the film aliens and the sulaco itself will be some of te places you visit.
However that doesn't make any sense because the facility was blown up in the second film and the sulaco was destroyed in the third so how can those marines visit those places?
@bouncer599 Oh yeah......I forgot about that ship, I suppose it should have been far away enough from the facility to avoid being blown up in that film.
But I definatly did read somewhere that they said the sulaco would be one place the marines visited.
Actually now that I think about it, it was just the stasis pods that were ejected from the sulaco so the ship itself could technically be floating around in space somewhere.
I heard, that you have to do things, like block vents and such to prevent aliens from entering the rooms your in as well, so I'm guessing this game is pretty interactive if you interact from vents to doors. Plus, the co-op would be fun, and using all the tools from the film. It'll be fun to play on 'Live'.
I hope people don't think the actual game will have graphics that look this good.....these are RENDERS people,,,,the game will not look this good.This game is turning into the next "Duke Nukem Forever" They have been promising this game for a longgggggggggggggg time.

(Alien1979) Ridley Scott + John Hurt + and a score by Jerry Goldsmith performed by the National Philharmonic Orchestra = the most horrific film made. The best film made. I still have Nightmares about being on the Nostromo. You can not copy this movie or chop it up (but they try). It's art. I'm a fan of the age where real movies were made. @wootsausemanman That also makes sense, but i only wanted them to add it cuz i thought it might make it more intense, but since i know they want to keep its originality and keep it classic. As long as the game comes out good i will buy it, cuz the AVP remake wasnt so good at least in my opinion.

@wootsausemanman It makes it feel more realistic but seeing how it would be unrealistic to use iron sights on moving something so fast i can understand that. I thought the AVP campaign was good but the multiplayer was horrible, it was way to easy to get kills and to get killed cuz everyone would always do an instant kill and then the person doing the instant kill would get instant killed and so on and so on.

@wootsausemanman Well people use them now at least i think they would, like if there was a poll im pretty sure most people would vote yes on iron sights. I understand that the game is still even but i dont like that they made it too simple to kill each other and not enough challenge. Like when your a predator you can spam the disc and have it bounce all around the walls getting easy multi-kills.
@wootsausemanman I did it all the time when i got bored and wanted to get people mad so that i know that it was cheating to use the disc in that way. Whenever i used it like that everyone complained in the lobby, and thats why i never used the disc again because it was way too easy to get kills. Alright cool, I'm a check on that.

The only thing i liked about AVP the game was the survivor mode it had with 4 player co-op, but i did not like that the maps were so tiny. Since colonial marines is gonna be the same except bigger, then its gonna be fun...probably.
@XxSKITTELZxX1 AVP3 sucked. I hated how u were alone most of the game. When u were the AI was SO stupid. they got all the guns wrong, it was a little glitchy. This game looks so much better. Also keep in mind that these pictures are from 2008, so they have re done the graphics, so the game will look SOOO MUCH better then this.
@TheDeltaXQ Yea i regreted getting hyped up for AVP3 and pre-ordering it super early thinking it was gonna be amazing. It was an okay game in my opinion, but i sold it in like a month or less, and i was happy to get like $35 or $40 bucks for it. I think and hope Colonial Marines will be better, hopefully it has a lot of co-op to it, and these graphics are pretty good so i cant imagine how good its gonna look!
@xalener That true, it doesnt have iron sights so i can see how it wouldnt be able to aim. Maybe the screen on the helmet could work, or something like that, without changing the game too much.

AVP was aight but it was EXTREAMLY rushed, I had fun, and the fear factor was pretty good, but over all it was just... blah. I had a feeling it would be, which is why I waited till the price went down to 25 bucks. but I can't wait for Colonial Marines, let me repeat CAN'T WAIT FOR COLONIAL MARINES! the absence of that game is actually what urged me to even consider AVP. but I have faith that this game will be the one to deliver. :D
looks sweet, i liked the new AVP, and i want to see a little more depth added to the marines, AVP made them seem like mindless guys who couldn't tell if there was something wrong even though they were starring at their buddies headless body. Alien world was awesome for me when there were only the Xenomorph and Humans. But then a stupid and ugly cunt decided to mix it with that lizard from Predator. plese can someone tell me if you will be able to be aliens???!!!! i loved the original avp but it got boring after a while. aliens couldnt go down many vents, or go to many places and you couldnt do the whole lifcycle (facehugger to chestburster to young alien etc) aswell as the fact that your abilities were limited, like clawing and using your tail. you should be able to do special moves like grabbing people and dragging them down vents and being able to go to loads of places.
Hope you get to play as both a colonal marine and an xeno. That would be a very interesting mix. And dont just say "buy avp" because I have and in my ( and many others ) opinions, avp was too small, and repeated, and I wasnt even scared. Aliens movies and games should have a lot of tension, like Fear 2.

this game would be good. AvP that came out at the begining of the year was okay. i couldnt wait for it. i pre ordered the the hunter edition and thought that it would be awesome, but instead it was okay, needed more work. this game will be better because it only focuses on the marine gameplay while AvP focused o all 3. i am a huge fan of the alien and predator movies, and i think that this will be a movie inspired game at its best. another AvP game would be cool to if they take their time. =)

(Alien1979) Ridley Scott + John Hurt + and a score by Jerry Goldsmith performed by the National Philharmonic Orchestra = the most horrific film made. The best film made. I still have Nightmares about being on the Nostromo. You can not copy this movie or chop it up (but they try). It's art. I'm a fan of the age where real movies were made. (the 26 thumbs down belong to Shia LaBeouf fans...may you live forever) P.S. you still have to see James Cameron's Aliens AND John Carpenter's the Thing.

@wootsausemanman It makes it feel more realistic but seeing how it would be unrealistic to use iron sights on moving something so fast i can understand that. I thought the AVP campaign was good but the multiplayer was horrible, it was way to easy to get kills and to get killed cuz everyone would always do an instant kill and then the person doing the instant kill would get instant killed and so on and so on.

@wootsausemanman Well people use them now at least i think they would, like if there was a poll im pretty sure most people would vote yes on iron sights. I understand that the game is still even but i dont like that they made it too simple to kill each other and not enough challenge. Like when your a predator you can spam the disc and have it bounce all around the walls getting easy multi-kills.

@wootsausemanman I did it all the time when i got bored and wanted to get people mad so that i know that it was cheating to use the disc in that way. Whenever i used it like that everyone complained in the lobby, and thats why i never used the disc again because it was way too easy to get kills. Alright cool, I'm a check on that.

The only thing i liked about AVP the game was the survivor mode it had with 4 player co-op, but i did not like that the maps were so tiny. Since colonial marines is gonna be the same except bigger, then its gonna be fun...probably.

@XxSKITTELZxX1 AVP3 sucked. I hated how u were alone most of the game. When u were the AI was SO stupid. they got all the guns wrong, it was a little glitchy. This game looks so much better. Also keep in mind that these pictures are from 2008, so they have re done the graphics, so the game will look SOOO MUCH better then this.

@TheDeltaXQ Yea i regreted getting hyped up for AVP3 and pre-ordering it super early thinking it was gonna be amazing. It was an okay game in my opinion, but i sold it in like a month or less, and i was happy to get like $35 or $40 bucks for it. I think and hope Colonial Marines will be better, hopefully it has a lot of co-op to it, and these graphics are pretty good so i cant imagine how good its gonna look!

I agree, but I don't think the pulse rifle's design allows for that. Maybe you can use that screen in your helmet as a scope through an uplink.

AVP was aight but it was EXTREAMLY rushed, I had fun, and the fear factor was pretty good, but over all it was just... blah. I had a feeling it would be, which is why I waited till the price went down to 25 bucks. but I can't wait for Colonial Marines, let me repeat CAN'T WAIT FOR COLONIAL MARINES! the absence of that game is actually what urged me to even consider AVP. but I have faith that this game will be the one to deliver. :D

looks sweet, i liked the new AVP, and i want to see a little more depth added to the marines, AVP made them seem like mindless guys who couldn't tell if there was something wrong even though they were starring at their buddies headless body. Anyways, i better wrap this up before i start rambling: can't wait for the game to actually come out, and not get canceled.

Player 2 has the 'Shotgun' being badass! (I LOVE SHOTGUNS!!!)

Alien world was awesome for me when there were only the Xenomorph and Humans. But then a stupid and ugly cunt decided to mix it with that lizard from Predator. The MAIN reason why AVP3 failed is...they sticked withe the ANNOYING AS HELL -> TEMPLE-WORSHIP thing from avp 1 movie. Why ohhh why couldn't they stay with the space ship corridors and jungle ? WHY WHY WHY WHY?? And they shoild stop with the PRED-dog-Alien-cat mutations!! Grrr Hope this game will be like ALIENS 2 all the way!!:) Thumbs up! :)

plese can someone tell me if you will be able to be aliens???!!!! i loved the original avp but it got boring after a while. aliens couldnt go down many vents, or go to many places and you couldnt do the whole lifcycle (facehugger to chestburster to young alien etc) aswell as the fact that your abilities were limited, like clawing and using your tail. you should be able to do special moves like grabbing people and dragging them down vents and being able to go to loads of places.

Hope you get to play as both a colonal marine and an xeno. That would be a very interesting mix. And dont just say "buy avp" because I have and in my ( and many others ) opinions, avp was too small, and repeated, and I wasnt even scared. Aliens movies and games should have a lot of tension, like Fear 2.

this game would be good. AvP that came out at the begining of the year was okay. i couldnt wait for it. i pre ordered the the hunter edition and thought that it would be awesome, but instead it was okay, needed more work. this game will be better because it only focuses on the marine gameplay while AvP focused o all 3. i am a huge fan of the alien and predator movies, and i think that this will be a movie inspired game at its best. another AvP game would be cool to if they take their time. =)
