Used to be like that in other SF games. Damage scaling would reset when the stun meter hit its limit.

The SFIV series changed that. Damage scaling stays until the combo counter resets. So stun after a long combo is worthless most of the time. This is also why some players who know how to keep up with stun will reset to a single hit so they only suffer minor scaling and can do a huge combo for big damage

They were doing ban cam stuff that night. On the actual cast, after combofiend lost it said "Ban Cam" which stems from Ban Matches of the yesteryears where players would play matches against each other and the loser was not allowed to appear for a designated amount of time.
