Tax breaks would help reduce the price of oil. With peak oil a reality we need to find alternative sources of energy & reduce consumption. No one can break America's addiction on oil by lowering the price of oil. The only way to do this is to make sure we hurt at the pump enough to really invest in these alternatives. Neither will be able to reduce energy independence without creating a massive gasoline tax, which no politician will. Neither will go to war with Pakistan, doing so means securing the downfall of America. The only difference is health care, where Obama will spend without collecting enough to make it realistic.

I can't believe the Republicans are talking poorly about Community Organizers... Do they realize that those are the people keeping kids off drugs, organizing crime-free neighborhoods, providing micro-economic solutions to needy locales, rebuilding projects, etc.. They are usually affiliated with non-profit's and other community organizations. The work pays very little, and requires an enormous amount of personal time and attention. Tax breaks would help reduce the price of oil. With peak oil a reality we need to find alternative sources of energy & reduce consumption. I support Obama based on his accomplishments and his record and the fact he was right on the Iraq war & McCain was wrong. No one can break America's addiction on oil by lowering the price of oil. The only way to do this is to make sure we hurt at the pump enough to really invest in these alternatives. Neither will be able to reduce energy independence without creating a massive gasoline tax, which no politician will. After all the AIP talk, I would have expected Palin to say something about loving the "USA" or considering herself to be an American.
Instead she said nothing. She even almost choked when she had to say "United States of America". The same speech could have been given by a foreign leader who wanted to build a business partnership with the USA.
