I heavily doubt it was the first music video produced by a band. Just because by this point there had been a lot of other early music videos (the initial concept seemingly starting in the '50s), so it seems like at least one must have been band-produced.
I don't think that it was an anti-war song. I think that they were being sarcastic as Hell. "Go and hate your neighbor...Go and cheat a friend...do it in the name of heaven..."
Anyway, the sigils I have seen in this video are from the Greater Key of Solomon, not the Goetia or Grimorium Verum as I have seen on the record lp called Witchcraft COVEN: Destroys Minds/ Reaps Souls.. The sigils here are supposed to represent planetary influences. Check it out for yourself. Don't take my word for it.
Whoa, haven't heard this song for years. The LP Blood on the Snow was stolen from my brother. I only remember a quieter piece "Lady O" on it. The opening painting featuring the devil and the band is the album cover. It features a painting on Giuseppe Tartini dreaming of devil playing a sonata for him, the inspiration for Devil's Trill.

It is a classic, I'd love to see this album be re-issued. Probably my favorite of the three...
