@xmtsystems way to fail... all crossfire's come stock with the slk's 3.2 engine, majority of its parts are from Benz and most likely he has after market pads which are the reason the brakes squeak
@Skerrit123 well seeing as the base 3.2L in the crossfire is 215hp, and the 3.2L in the SLK is 349hp, I would say you're wrong. It might be the same block, but it's been seriously detuned w/ diff internals.
I've been doing my own brakes with aftermarket pads for the last 16 years, and I've NEVER had a problem. The reason brakes squeal is because people either fail to put contact grease on the caliper bracket, or they fail to put stop-squeal on the back of the pads. A good brake job needs both
@xmtsystems its made with the previous slk gen.... not the same year ones as the xf.... its the same engine from slk 320's 2000-2004 and i work at Mercedes i think i know what engine a car has. just because you do your own brakes doesn't mean it doesn't exist. certain material that some brake pads use when rubbing against certain rotors make a noise not just from not being lubed
@Skerrit123 I'll concede the engine to you, but you have a thing or two to learn about brakes. I've used every material of brake pad available from asbestos to my current ceramic pads. I've never had brake pads squeal like that unless one of the pads itself was defective or nearly worn down to the backing. The reason you get that squeal is not from the pad to rotor contact, but from the metal backplate rubbing against the caliper/caliper bracket. You won't hear that with a proper brake job.
@xmtsystems Cheap linings. Low-cost linings do not withstand the heat build up well after repeated stops, especially in city driving. When the linings get hot they are known to squeal. This is also accompanied by reduced braking and increased braking effort on the driver's part. Basically, the heat produced with cheap linings causes the linings to glaze. thats a quote from a website, foudn it on a few auto websites. like i said the pad can squeak when hitting the rotor
@xmtsystems you more then likely dont get cheap pads or stay with the factory pads. its never happened to me but i have had quick a few cars with brand new pads at 8mm+ that are after market that squeak when braking. even if you re lube them and clean them it will still squeak
Extended use makes the Mercedes Pads squeek. This happens on my Xfire, even though my pads are brand-new. This is only if you are under heavy breaking like at the track, or here. I really like the red strip on your sideskirts. And for anyone who is wondering, this is the stock exhaust. I love the stock exhaust on the Crossfire, its so well done.
@israel25a ha ha ha hahaaaaaa! you do not even own a car and are too big of a pussy to even post a video ha ha ha ha! love the pink background on your profile fag!
@israel25a lmao i guess being from a poor undeveloped 3rd world country though i can see how you would not have the money or have the education to own a car lmao.
What goes bad? So far, the heater on the driver's seat, but not enough reason to drop it at the shop. The exhaust is Borla's. This video shows a standard 225 hp (naturally aspirated) Crossfire, not an SRT6. The fixed rear wing and 15 spoke rims on the supercharged, 330 hp beast gives away the handmade AMG SLK. The suspension on the SRT6 is very rigid too. I love mine. I also love Mustang GTs and Camaros at traffic lights. They get all huffy and puffy, BUT I don't. I KNOW where I stand!
When are you going to give up trying to make your car out to be something it is not. First you called it a twin-turbo, then a V8 conversion, now a Brabus. What's next....a stealth JATO conversion?
That's funny mine pulled away from mustang gts

All that money on an SLK engine swap, and not enough left over for a decent brake job.
