All commercials (including one for Polaroid, of which a partial sponsor I.D. is heard at the beginning) were omitted from this "kinnie". The series took a week off for the Democratic National Convention the following week [July 12th], as the announcer mentions at 50:27.
This was a videotaped series (from New York) that was Garry Moore's 1960 summer replacement [Tuesdays, 10-11pm(et)], based on the characters created by Lawrence G. Blochman for a series of short stories originally published in COLLIER'S magazine, and later in ELLERY QUEEN'S MYSTERY MAGAZINE. Phyllis Newman was pregnant at the time this was produced; this is why she often wore an oversized lab coat on camera. Look for Tom Bosley and Larry Hagman [then New York-based actors] among the guest stars.
