  • Chet Atkins was a man that lived, breathed & loved the guitar. He made the guitar literally sing with the music he played. No one needs to deminish his greatness. My Father & Uncle loved Chet & his music.

  • To the 100 greatest guitar players according to Rolling Stone magazine (of which Chet Atkins is not on that list) .... I'd like to see any of you play this or any other Chet song with the touch and perfection that Chet does.

  • Simply beautiful, can't beat the older type music.

  • I didn't know G W Bush could play the guitar.. ha-ha

  • The soundtrack of the 1949 movie In the Good Old Summertime.

  • Just the best and as good as it can ever get--such warmth...what a touch Chet had...geez!! Jack Baker NYC

  • Mr Atkins had a fair resemblence to George W Bush actually. Wow, what a fine crew of back up singers. Don't tell me those guys actually had to read those lyrics?

  • didn't know that George Bush could play the guitar so incredibly well!

  • Thanks for posting this - it's the 43rd track on my Chet Atkins playlist.

  • This is Folk, not Country..... This is the reason people don't like country

  • hahahaha.....

  • didn't george bush played.....

  • hahaha...

  • Done a lot of Fiddling from what we hear

  • THIS is country. Not the pop crap on the radio today

  • Its folk country sucks

  • It's country.

  • its folk

  • Whatever, dude. I relly don't give a shit. It's good music it doesnt need a label to be enjoyed.

  • Dude, me too! Arthur is tight! And their rendition kicks this one's ass.

  • did he played a banjo anyone seen him playing a banjo?

  • He has played banjo a little, mandolin a little, and fiddle quite a lot.

  • Nothing I can say could add to the greatness of Chet Atkins. To me, he was everything a guitar player could ever be. There is a video of me playing this same tune elsewhere on youtube; but Chet was and always will be the master.

    Thanks,

    Richard

  • Chet recorded this tune (with vocal backup) on his 1958 Album "Hum and Strum Along with Chet Atkins"... How wonderful, along with some rare clips which I possess (sp) to see and hear Chet "rock" this tune in his later years !

  • So much has been said about Chet; but what a master he was. My, how we miss him.

  • This is the best right here!!!

  • Mountaingoat2004 has a Kidsongs version of the same song.

  • He's Great a George Bushalike

  • i saw it in arthur

  • 2 and a half minutes that reveal a lifetime of genius.

  • Great player! We miss him, too.

  • =D my name is Chet!!

  • Truly a master at work.
