so many indie games seem similar in you always do stuff in 2D, platforming and/or shooting, but many tease you with polygonal graphics. why don't some of them go and do a 'space sim' (in that you fly in 3D space with setting like power management) the genre ignored by AAA devs in this day.

there is definitely an audience, albiet small, and rather hard in the core, whom would LOVE such games, and if done well enough would be a hit
