Yeah but unlike people in other countries the U.S. is one of the strongest military powers and I infer wants to keep that way at the cost of money and lives.

Anyone ever been to Europe? Liberal socialism seems to make for a much higher quality of life. They have better jobs, medicine, education, and housing. More paid vacation time as well as better salary, benefits and job security. They don't have to give up their life savings and children's inheritance to medical bills. These things lead to less crime, and fewer people destroying lives with gun violence, smoking crack, and religion.

And what quality of job, medicine, education, and housing produce in liberal socialism? With capitalist nation, the revenues of the products are less, which gives the employer more money to spend on anything. When insurance company's have to compete with other medical insurance the have to lower the prices of the cost for health care. And look at all the third world countries, all of them rule under government socialism, and they are most impoverish.
