It's 35 years since I've listened to this. An architechtural sense of the sound filling a very large space in your imagination. I couldn't really imagine how it was made which made it all the more mysterious and captivating. It's actually quite simple and bluesy but with a classical sense of development. They were so talented and original. Incredible textures. It never just sounded like a 'band' but something much more but it is just a rock band! Listen to him 'talk' with that guitar! Ha!

Syd was everything but perfect. But yes, it is an awesome tribute to a great artist. Unfortunatly, he did have serious problems. Drug abuse is an stupid way to waste your life. And I do prefer the post-Syd era of Pink Floyd. Anyways, my favourite band and theyr best album.
@lourencopedro1 it wasnt drug abuse that did syd in, it was mental disease, yes he did drugs, but he had a fragile mind going all the way back to his childhood, when he started doing acid it just pushed him over the edge, its one casualty that cant totally be blamed on drugs, he lived well into his 60s, but his mind was gone, he couldnt take crowds, couldnt handle the pressure of leading a band, the pressure to keep producing music, he was just too fragile, his mind couldnt take it, a shame!!!
@jroxx11211 Yes, I know that. I only wish that back in the 70's there was the medical backup for this kind of distrubs as there is today, maybe he wouldn't have had to refuge on acid.
@lourencopedro1 look at curt cobain, that wasnt too long ago. he also had severe mental problems but let them get the best of him, plus, doing heroin was all it took, to stick a shotgun in his mouth and blow his head off!!! sometimes no matter how much money you have or how famous you are, it just doesnt matter, sometimes your just destined to shine bright and fast, then burn out! jim morrison, jimi hendrix, janis joplin, john bonham, keith moon, brian jones, randy rhoades, ronnie van zhant....
@jroxx11211 Yhea, but I must say, that drug abuse is a constant on all those cases that you talked. Many of these genius had mental disturbs, and joining drugs to that kind of stuff is suicide. Amy Whinehouse is a really recent case of drug abuse and mental instability.
@jroxx11211 You say, drugs pushed him over the edge. And yet, drugs didn't do him in. Do you see the hypocrisy in those two statements? Lots of people live with mental disorders - the key word being live. Without slipping into insanity. Would he have been better if he hadn't touched drugs? Who can say? But the simple fact is that he ended up on a lot of drugs, and it likely pushed him beyond the limits of what he could come back from. Drugs are dangerous. That is a fact.
@TheLurchdaddy im not denying the fact that drugs are bad or that they didnt help in the ruin of most of those lives, i was just stating that besides the drugs, he had serious mental issues, which will do people in if they let it get the best of them, alot of times, people with mental issues tend to self medicate and make their conditions worse, i wasnt trying to lessen the fact that drugs are terrible and ruin most of the lives of people who do them.
@PoopNoseEye: I guess you took the same concept of switching the letters f, and p... just like the band did when they got the name from two blues musicains. =)
