@HoHe20 Dance isn't a genre.. It's an umbrella term for music from different kinds of genres that is made to dance too. So you're right when you say it's dance, but that isn't the genre. The genre is house.. because this song has a (really soft) house beat. Check discogs or last.fm if you want.. there you can see all labels released this songs as being house music...

The melody is the factor that determines the genre ;)

Some of Madonna's or Gaga's productions include that "House Beat" but It can't listed as house music...

@HoHe20 sure it is separated by the beat.. along with other factors. If you only look at the melody alone you probably can't say the difference between progressive house and trance. And even if looking at the melody would be the way to go.. that doesn't change the fact that every label that released this track released it as being house music. House is just a broad genre (like most genres) with both soft music and hard music, commercial music as well as underground music.

I think they still have some good tracks though.. but that's probably because I rediscover my French House tracks from the late 90ies - early 00ies and I'm really into it for the past month. I kind of keep switching between House subgenres.. one month I like the funky soulful house next month I'm more into banging fidget house again. One thing is for sure.. House music will always be my first love...

@HoHe20 A song doesn't become pop by virtue of it being more upbeat or "dancey". Look at electro house. It is still defined as house, even if it caught the mainstream wave. But not all electro house is pop. It has to actually be a part of pop culture.
