  • So the PCCs had Foot pedals, the Boeings had Throttles, the Type 7s have foot pedals, and the Type 8s have Throttles?

  • I was there at Seashore in the late 80s early 90's. One of Boeing's mystery coaches.

  • What was the guy doin' at 0:15?

  • Awesome, We were at that museum just last week!

  • @ammoguy5 Thanks! Hope you had fun.

  • I was told by an operator that 3480 is going to seashore.

  • There aren't any plans to bring another LRV up, but maybe they got one for parts

  • @jdgator95 Didn't the museum say they wanted an unrehabbed example as well...?

  • @jdgator95 I heard 3417 may go to Seashore next.

  • did the boeings use foot pedals or hand controls like the type 8s

  • Hand controls

  • So the T went from hand controls, downgraded to foot petals, then upgaded again? The T intelligence is exposed again

  • Foot pedals aren't neccesarilly worse, the PCCs used them! The reason for the type 7s having them is that they were based largely on PCCs, Type 8s on the other hand have a lot in common with the LRVs.

  • Wasnt Lechemere redesignated as the "A" line for a time?

  • No, the A line was another branch that went into Watertown off of what is now the "B" branch. Service was stopped in the 1960s, but some later trolleys kept the sign in case it was ever used it again, it wasn't.

  • @jdgator95 I actually did my research on this. The A line went into Watertown and separated from the B line at Brighton Ave. It was replaced by bus 57 but ended at the Bus terminal in Watertown. It is said that the tracks for the A line are still at the terminal but I have not yet to check it out for myself. PS, correct me if 'm wrong in any way.

  • IS THIS THE ONLY AT SEASHORE? i remember when these came in service my first ride was on 3415

  • Yep, as of 2007 retired by the MBTA

  • how could they have an A-line LRV if the A-line stopped service 10 years before te LRV's were costructed?

  • The LRV rollsigns had the A-line as a destination in case the line was reopened, which it wasn't. None of them ever ran on the A line in service but they all had those signs

  • IM A TRAINNNN DURRRRRRR

    But wow

  • no it says northeastern because its not going the whole line. Thats why the E is crossed out.

  • That's what I meant

  • No they don't have signs for every stop, just a few extra in case the trains can't run the full line. Northeastern is the first stop out of the subway and they have a switch back there, so thats where they chose to have a back-up terminal

  • Awesome! You must have been at the right place at the right time!

  • Thanks! Those were my exact thoughts! :D

  • Will thye have to put poles on her or can she run off of Seashore's overhead with her pan?

  • Yes, it will be a while before she can run there.

  • awesome i wish some of these went on the mattapan ashmont line and replaced the dam pcc's

  • I think the PCCs are cooler though. The boeing LRVs are't that much different than the type 7s and 8s running on the green line and the PCCs are old and historic. Thats just my opinion.

  • The PCCs get my vote also

  • landmark at least one was saved
