  • KILLING NEVER SOLVED ANYTHING

  • Hollywood--city of ironies. And poor Peg--even 'Sunset Blvd' couldn't top this script of her tragic life. If she had just hung on a little bit longer. I hope she is happier now in her next lifetime.

  • she was beautiful.c:

  • A sad but amazing story.

Thank you for sharing this with us.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • It always shocks me to see a wasted life.

  • That was my ansester

  • THE WOMAN IN THE NUDE PICTURE IS NOT PEG.

  • @MsBatista85 Hey, do you happen to know who it is?

  • Excellent video! Very well made... I've heard that Peg committed suicide on September 16, although it's often said she killed herself on the 18th. Most accounts say the 18th is when she was found, not when she actually leapt. Whatever the case may've been, you've done a great job here!

  • @ANDREWEHUNT very pretty and young to die.

  • Such a TRAGEDY! Many fail to mention that several starlets would jump off of the letter D in land. It was the thirteenth letter. Some believe that is why the word LAND was removed.

  • @HeavensHelp1 because the peg committed suicide? she was beautiful young actress.

  • Fucking sad.

I can't look at that Hollywood sign without thinking of that poor girl.

  • Mulholland Drive...

  • I would also like to add for the ones who comment here that she had been drinkng on that night that I don't beileive so because the authopsy revealed she had no alcohool and I'm also sure she would never be able to balance her body on the top of the ladder to jump eihter she jumped from standing or not if she had been drinking. And it was a strong jump otherwise she would have fallen on the base of the sign. That´s what I think.

  • My God what a video. She was so young and beautiful. How did she managed to climb to the top of the H, anyway?

  • @olarcial Thanks for the comment. She apparently climbed the back of the letter H, 50 feet, using the maintenance ladder on the back.

I've been corrected a few times that she most likely did not die instantly either!

  • @RuffHouseStudios Thanks. You say that especifically int the video, what I was wondering was how did she managed to make the move from the top of the ladder to the edge of the H and jump, that I presume from a standing position in order to make her body flew across the base of the sign . There's not much room there and nowhere to hold unless she wasn't standing. I'm still searching and gathering all the information I can, I even tried Google Earth to see the path of her entire walk.

  • @olarcial Oh, I see. I don't know how she managed that, she looked to be in good physical condition and such a drastic measure requires dedication so I suppose she just did it however she could. Interesting but sad suicide case for sure, good luck.

  • @RuffHouseStudios when i was in CA and took the dearly departed tour, the tourguide said it was either the "H" or some other letter i cant rememberl.

  • @RuffHouseStudios now of course its got like security and stuff so no1 can go up there. I went to the Museum of Death in Hollywood(great place) and the owner said he was lucky enough to get a picture up there when he was a kid

  • thats so creepy ! it scares me how old hollywood is !

  • I have to say that the music is overpowering the narration. Sad story though.

  • @OdessaMW I'll check the levels. Thx. Is sad.

  • somewhere. Unfortunately for the twisted. Find this movie T O T A L L Y F R E E at Movie WATCHER . US

  • Such a sad story. :( I was after her only feature, Thirteen Women (1932) for the past year now, but never knew Peg Entwistle was in it. From the clips I have seen, she was more than a fine actress. A shame people go through such horrid depression. :(

  • A beautiful young woman with what could have been a great life ahead for her. Things may not be great today...but tomorrow is a different day...Great short Matt!

  • @rgman66 different day yes but same shit more suffering.good attitude but when you are really in that much despair cliches have no real value.

  • Oh the irony

  • aw poor girl

  • 1:38 well, here's the suicide letter. Well, i watch too many noirs :)

  • which sign letter did she jump from? er...sorry, that was lame. What a pity she was so young pretty lady with a (apparently) luminous future ahead her. what a shame people who (apparently) has everything to behave like that. Apparently...yeah.

  • She jumped from the letter H. It's about 50 feet, she used the maintenance ladder on the back and I am told that it actually unlikely that she died instantly as stated in the video.

    Cheers

  • Thanks RuffHouse. That's really weird way for a suicide for an actor-actress, no sense of ridicule. It seems more like a stupid game ended badly, tragically. And why not? she could has been be in company of drunk-stoned "friends" that day. I propend more for an accident, if there's any enveloped letter to explain, in that case if there were ghosts, her one should be too ashamed to appear around.

  • im 24 now and i feel my future is so full and bright and to know she was at this same age full of gloom and despair feeling she had no future it makes me appreciate my life and the people in it more

  • Thanks for sharing that kriccistarr

  • Amazing story. Don't give up on your dreams too soon.

  • There is a new musical jst premiering this week called sweet fa it follows to storys of old hollywood tragic story's one is the fatty arbuckle story with the virgina rappe case and the other follows the story of peg entwistle's death its amazing check it out !!

  • Fuck. You.

  • its true.fuck u

  • i heard that here ghost is around that area does anyone know if that's true?

  • apparantly, walkers/tourists/workers have been at the base of the hollywood sign and sen a young woman in 1920s/30s clothing, looking very sad, she then disappears when approiached. hope this helped.

  • thanks bud, i heard about this in 1993 and in a way i beleived it.

  • yeah. people say ghosts dont exist and all stuff like that, but for some people with no prior knowledge to see her and describe the ghost so well makes you think about it.

  • how ironic

  • so sad...i'm fascinated by her...have you see Peg Entwistle's Last Walk?

  • poor girl th's so ironic

  • Thank you for posting, but Peg was not a "struggling actress" as noted in your video description. She was a highly successful stage actress from New York and then California. It wasn't until her attempt at the motion picture industry that she took a turn for the worst. Poor screenings of the film "Thirteen Women" threw Peg into a rapid downward spiral. After having most of her scenes cut from the film; and poor reviews; she committed suicide feeling as if her career was failing.

  • Well, look on the bright side. In death she has acheived the fame that she sought after in life. That's more than I can say for myself.

  • Well, you're probably still alive.

  • I'm glad someone finally caught that.

  • thats rather ironic

  • How sad and ironic. Someone should make a film about Peg to show others how to curb thier desires to give up like Peg did and find other outlets in life, Rest her soul.
