I think the only way to fix this is a complete restructuring of the government. Return control of our currency to the government, do away with the central bank, create a third or even fourth party, real party's, not this independent non-sense.

I don't know who I hate more - Democrats or Republicans. One expects Republicans to bend over for big business and to subvert justice and Demoracy and the Constitution.
Let us not forgetthe 100 and something who did vote against it though, if only there were more ike that.
Was this about campaign contributions? Were these votes bought? Can they not all be impeached?

Don't vote. If the next president gets the majorit of the votes and the majority of people overwhelmingly stayed home and refused to vote for either, does their win really mean anyhting. If you get 75% of the votes, but only 10% of the population participated in the election, is there any more clear message that the democratic process is completely shattered. Next election 2% of the population votes and the rest stay home. Either citizens want a monarchy, or neither runner is worth the votes.

It passed 70 to 26 a pretty huge victory for Bush but how much do people wanna bet that a lot of repubes took the same side as the democratic congress? I personally feel that this isn't Obama's fault he wasn't around during this decission nor was McCain for that matter.
It's hard to vote when your busy campaigning. Either way we need a more balanced congress and more importantly a more uncorrupt form of congress. Unfortunately this system was put in place by our founding fathers.

I have always been interested in USA politics. Sometimes I like the Republican policies and sometimes the Democrats. But I have always felt your two party system is weak. Neither party is really destroyed for bad behavior. A party is either in power, or in opposition waiting to be voted in when the other party does something really stupid. There are no significant political dynamics. How about a strong third or forth party? Strong regional parties?
