I always pictured the GM upper brass giving the 59 Batmobile designers a hard time for their extremism. Not according to this presentation. The old boss had his pipe and willing handshake-- "build it, boys!".

Look at the sexy parts that went into this car. Those days are long gone.

These people seemed preoccupied with styling for the future back then. The future's here so where's all the cool stuff designed for it? Most of it has been torn down, ripped out, done over, or sitting in the junkyard.
