  • A sweet rendition of a lovely and timeless song - every mother with a child in the service has this song in her heart. Check out the video ''The way we get by'' WW2 veterans seeing troops off and back to the states, it's the least we can do.

  • Thank you!

  • Please do not disparage your singing voice; it is lovely!

  • pertty voice good song 2

  • "Sing a better song," my eye. This is a great song- it describes the sentiments of so many who served in that horrible cruel war, many who never came home. Your voice is fine, too: homespun and pure. Like the voice that would have sung it in the 1860's. Are you a reenactor?

BTW..I don't know what you meant by "..the freedom that YOU are spurning so disdainfully today." I doubt most people, whatever their politics, "spurn freedom".

  • Thank you, and I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Not on the surface they don't, but down deep they do. Most people I talk with don't WANT true freedom. They don't want to danger and responsibility it involes.

  • "They don't want to danger and responsibility it involes. "

I'm not really sure what you mean. If you mean that, in a time of declared war all are "required to do their part"-whatever that may entail-I agree. However, beyond bearing responsibility for the consequences of one's own actions (forseeable or otherwise) I am somewhat reluctant to define the "duties" of others in specific circumstances.

  • verry good

  • Thanks!

  • you have a goodish voice but you need to sing a better song. how bout'
