  • Could you make a playlist so I can watch all your videos in order?

  • where are you training ? i would like to pop in and try this system

  • @neocyberwarrior see website at systemauk dot com

  • No.1 art I wanna learn! Sadly I don't know where to train here in the philippines :((

  • @4:00 haha

  • I haven't heard anything different than any traditional martial art that is being taught correctly. For the flamers, correctly is defined as taught in a traditional manner and with the real resons something is done and not the BS most wanna be instructors give.

  • seems a lot like combative tai chi

  • Well if anyone is really going to argue about any style they are close minded and retarded. I've been training Krav Maga, Muay Thai, JuJitsu, ect for 8 years now. I was in Special Ops in the military. And, I'll tell you this much that every style has it benefits and places above another. I plan on training this systema as well. UFC is crap. There are rules. It's great as a controled sport with rules. And I train with and have friends that are in the UFC. But in real world they would lose.

  • @AnthonyEFMarshall 'age: 26' Hmmm...somehow, I think you are telling porkies. Who on Earth calls them Special ops these days other than gamers...?

  • Great, coherent explanating of Systema. Gratitude.

  • wow a unique art.. hmmp.. nice.., i learned something useful from this short clip.keep it up..

  • Can we cool the testoterone? I have never studied Systema, but it it something I would like to learn. When I was a kid I got into my share of scrapes on the playground and sometimes in the street. I have watched streetfights. and I know it sounds like a cliche, but you gotta use what ever works for you. Know what to do and when. I have seen a bunch of guys chase and beat guy almost to death. Grappling, or striking would not have worked. A gun or running faster would have though.

  • to mma fighter: systema is a street fighting style, thats means they can eye gauge you, use the hook, groin strikes ..... and dont take me wrong mma fighters have great abilities in,fact i have done it for over 2 years now and i know that we can beat a boxer or a street fighter by bringing him to the ground simply, but to all fighter you gotta realize that in systema are involved many urban features such as knives, fighting on concrete and using the enviroment against the enemy

  • Not speaking in favor of -or against- Systema. Some folks whom I greatly respect this training methodology so I'm going to give it a try & see for myself. From what I've seen the concepts are feasible for everything for empty handed fighting to optimal use of the AK in CQB.

MMA is to be respected but I don't give a shit about sports fighting. I want to be lethal with everything at my disposal.

  • I'm thinking of getting into SOME Martial Art (I have yet to figure out what one I would like to learn most) but I like taking non-East Asian styles into consideration as well like Systema and Capoeira. Thanks for the strengthening tips it should help prepare me once I chose. :D

  • very very cool.

  • i realy want to learn this but there is only 1 class in my country (belgium) and its pretty far.

i would like to feel safe, without having to carry a weapon with me and still knowin what i have to do when someone else has a weapon

  • I agree! Very good class run by good intructors! Sytema is very powerful and useful!

  • Pre emptive strikes will lead to a massive lawsuit!! Lol

  • excellent classes, run by a good teacher, systema has opened a lot of better ways of dealing with attacks etc and UNDERSTANDING YOURSELF.really works enjoyed the classes thanks ROB (Rich)

  • Wow. I've trained a little bit of some of these things, i.e. the striking, in Aikido class. My instructor trains systema.

  • jxcream ,

I train box as well and I've tried systema punches on myself. That is my instrusctor punched me :)

Trust me there is no box punch that can damage you in that way. The hits go right through you no matter how hard you are.

There is a different issue concerning systema. Its not about the damage of the punches that is in question.

In my experience they are harder to apply when there is a larger distance between opponents when you are sparring with experienced kick boxer.

  • whats the name of the song at the beginning?

  • great stuff SYSTEMA,BALLS UP THE COMMENT...I.LEFT thanks rob rich.

  • Crap. I hate it when you're pretty much right.

This IS what Aikido was supposed to be. This is the kinda stuff Ueshiba was doing in the Russo-Japanese war. This is the kinda stuff that had him breaking people in his younger days. I train in Aikido that's similar to this, but, yeah, the art as a whole has really gone down the drain. I may have some problems with SYSTEMA training methods, but it solid and it works.

  • What style aikido??

  • I believe, the main difference with the training methods, come from the different mentalities and cultures.

I could not imagine a group of Russians standing in line and doing endless repetitions of katas.

At the same time, imagine a group of japanese Aikido students, who are told: "now practice at whatever your best at and do what you want".

What I learned from Systema is NOT to mimick but simply pick what's useful for myself and apply it in the way I see fit. I

  • correction: Do whatever works.

    :)

  • im a boxer and just looking at the techniques i just dont think they look like they would do enough damage to disable someone, theres no weight going into the punches.

although some of the self defense parts i.e misleading an opponent into them thinking you arent going to strike are pretty cool and well thought out. i also like the look of some of some of the exercises you guys do, like climbing the pole, thats a great tricep exercise.

ill see if i can find somewhere to give it a try myself.

  • I'd recommend going to a Systema studio to feel for yourself how devastating these strikes are. The hardest hits I've ever taken were from Systemists. A big part of it is the lingering, deep penetration of the hit. Rather than snapping back the strike, there is great follow-through and severe shock on the body.

  • Lingering, deep penetration? Dang, that sounds a lot like an internal kung fu strike. I've really gotta meet some Systema guys and check out how you guys hit.

  • There are a lot of parallels between IMA and systema, and many practitioners train in both.

  • Sounds a lot like something very different as well......

  • trust me is not all in power of punch systema have 6 levels of punch what u see on youtubu that is 1,2,3

  • bro,i box, i do muay thai, systema, wing chun... and let me tell you, systema is nothing to fuck with- its a no rules martial art, as in what works, is what you use. i was punched by a very short unassuming guy in the chest, he was a veteran systema practioner, and now i am no pushover, i have been doing martial arts for a while and DAMN. i felt his punch for sure!

  • I share some of your misgivings...... i'm interested enough to seek out Systema training as soon as I can get to a seminar......but the static exercise do look as though there isn't as much power. Guess i'll find out!

  • Great ROB we could do with more excellent stuff which really works...keep it up mate, should be back to classes soon

  • Very interesting and well presented. However always think before a pre emtive strike there are alot more legal issues with them then a reactionary strike.

  • Looks good Rob, very well presented.

  • does hitting each other make you tougher? Are there any solo drills I can do? I train mostly boxing and mma now, but I would like to train to hit from weird angles like shown in the vid.

  • I think the idea is to learn how roll with the punch not to take it.

  • Interesting and well presented. Thanks

  • Do they do any classes in scotland

  • i dont' know...seems difficult to apply under stress...btw it's a interesting approach

  • very diff approach I like it

  • arlington county is basically washington dc, the other side of the potomac river. but if you wanna spar we gotta get friendly first haha

  • this is bullshido. really retarded. i do muay thai id CRUSH any of yall

  • Cool, where are ya, we'll set something up

  • im around arlington county, ill spar with you if ur really serious. im not THAT good but im sure it would be an even match because ur styles so retarded. i mean.. just stand up though, i cant grapple. wtf are u gonna do if i kick u in the leg?

  • We are you going to do if he does a double leg takedown and takes you to the ground? It's really cool to say you could stomp someone and then when they accept your challenge, give them all sorts of rules they have to follow.

  • Rules??

  • what is the name of the song at the beginning? thank you

  • Heh. Funny response.

  • @mattm1836

um, there's a systema video out on how to manage takedowns. go check it out, eh?

and when I went to check out vladmir vasiliev, he was very wiling to let people test stuff out, if your not just being a troll and really want to understand, you should go and try that takedown on him.

but realize, it's been tried, and people end up going, "wow, this looks weird, but it sure does work well..." or making up some sour grapes story...

  • @mattm1836 double leg takedown? This isn't for MMA or wrestling, this is for street self defense.

  • sambo is a discipline of systema, and it has the best ground game in the world

    there are no rules

  • @mattm1836 u obviously missed the whole point, try to understand what is Systema before droping some random pointless comments

  • @mattm1836 haha what "rules" have you ever seen in Systema combat? I have yet to see something that absurd. :D

  • Wow, he went quiet quick! Any Systema classes in or around Greater Manchester?

  • I've been street fighting since i can remember. I've never had my ass kicked so easily as in systema classes. I've been doin it for almost a year now and its incredible. I also love Mua Thai but dude have an open mind. Ill put money on it that you've never tried systema and of course your bias to your style of fighting, thats completely understandable but just do some research other than youtube... knowledge never hurts

  • @hobbesthecat7 Muaithai is a sport where you're facing someone in a ring practicing the same sport, doesn't try to kill you and doesn't have any weapon. Muaythai won't be of a great help in such situation.

  • @hur4c4n Yes indeed real life combat is very dangerous , you will hear champions getting there ass kick by average joes . see muay thai do that .

plus some people are unpredicatble strong fast and or flexible .

  • @hobbesthecat7 don't forget to train Muay Thai humbleness ...

  • @hobbesthecat7 I feel bad for you.

  • why is systema so easy to learn

  • looks great. very practical and natural. i Really like the workouts.

  • Excellent.

  • Lovely stuff...thanks for posting

  • I would like to know where you teach at if you have a website. I am very interested in starting systema and the philosophies its based around.

  • russian martial art *.* com

  • Great stuff. I grew up in a non-comp karate club, and we did this sort of thing all the time. My favourite martial arts line ever:

"Taker senses attack is imminent and..."

  • hi, this is my husbands account, but i wanted to say as a female working in a maximum security prison, this is fantast!!! im going to practice on him when he gets home later!!!!!!!

  • element of suprise...Or simply explanatory exersise.

  • Some great ideas for all martial artist. Open your minds, there are some jewels here.

  • I like systema because it works. Very practical.

  • AHHHHHHH thats so cool its like erm they learned to attack without looking like there going to attack! AHHHH I WANNA LEARRNNN!!!

  • Nice one!

  • hm.. i wonder why when 1 person attack not that hard, but the other person suddenly struggle down... any body can please explain me why?

  • this guy knows his shit!!!

  • All martial artists can learn from this..the style I pass on is (similar)with this fluid understandig of "what does what."...its like cooking, you know what ingredient will generate a sensation, feeling or reaction, therefore understanding .

  • Love the idea of strategies for situation avoidance!

    Thats 90% of self defense!

Also I really like the constant contact. This is very intelligent stuff here.

Loved seeing the guys taking hits at the end, cracked me up.

  • thinking about it if i can afford it with may thai as well is there full contact free sparring

  • works well with thai

  • i do muay thai myself and have had an interest in taking up systema for sometime, but unfortunately with unpredictable work schedule i have time only to do muay thai *sigh*

  • Great video, I enjoyed that. With so much bullshit being posted by idiots in the Martial Arts category, is good to see someone who knows what they are talking about. Spot on understanding of REAL power generation !

  • This martial is very affective as it is used for the russian special forces the spetsnaz. It is a very good martial arts to start.

  • Damn, I need to find a systema teacher

  • This all reminds me of jeet kune do concepts.

  • nice videos and interesting strikes no one seems to be able to teach striking without tension and in reply to everyone who complains about people teaching systema or other systems and complain how its not going to be effective in the street train for the ufc or something similiar remember the ufc is a SPORT training for the street means different mental training awareness training and different physical training

  • what ive noticed is the people who have tried systema all seem to have good things to say about it. the naysayers are on the outside

  • nice video

  • Cool stuff.

  • no!!!!!!!!!! man i was really implying that a MMA match would happen but it would look more like it when you get two veteren fighters. I would be a professional fight instead of that bullshit would see on American rap videos.

  • This was very clear and well explained. It was nice to see a variety of skill levels demonstrating. The punching from odd angles is very useful.

  • How long do you guys think a real fight lasts?

Systema works pretty well when someone is trying to kill you.

  • sorry about the 3 posts, i was trying to figure out how to do it. but yeah, systema is only good for fighting people who don't know how to fight. you need to know more realistic things like wrestling, boxing, bjj, etc.. if a good fighter attacks you

  • Which is why spetznaz are on of the top 3 fighting forces in the world along with the SAS and Mossad.

It's like all sytems you need to take what works from it for you.

  • youre the only one thats gay...id like to see you take one punch from that guy in the vid.that sholud calm down fuckers like you.btw good vid. systema rules!!!

  • I want do see those guys in UFC lol

  • UFC has rules... ufc fighters train with rules in mind. they fight for fighting's sake.

systema and a lot of other martial arts fight to defend yourself. the single thought in the mind is going home in one piece.

in that sense, ufc is pointless. great entertainment though.

  • uptcholo - I want to see you in UFC

  • Indeed systema is a revolutionary martial art! hot damn!

  • i wish there was a school near me where i can learn this stuff

  • no it has name, this song is in film GHOST RIDER with Nicolas Cage

  • PLS what song is on the begining????????

  • It doesnt have a name, just a bit of background music

  • I'm not going to even waste the time praising or criticizing these system. Considering it's against the law to defend yourself in Britain, I'm surprised these classes aren't against the law there too. If you're in the UK, just hope the police solve your murder and you have a good will. LOL

  • Well maybe one day, soon I hope, you'll realize that doing something illegal is sooo much better than getting killed or see someone close to you get killed.

  • why would it be against the law in britain to defend yourself?

  • krav maga is better!

  • Yes. It is just 1000 times less creative and vast than systema...

  • good demo, very similar to wing chun in relaxing the punch until contact

  • THIS LOOKS FUN BUT I LIKE MUAY THAI!!!

  • Great demo! He brings up a lot of things which I have never thought of. I will bring these ideas and teachings to my own students. Thanks for the vid...

  • Very informative. Nice demo's too. Thank you for putting this up!

  • well, yes, bak in the day, it was train to fight, but now, alot of skills and art had been water down, pretty hard to find a good teacher that knows HOW to teach

  • tai chi is not for fighting, its to improve ur health n mind, without good health and mind u would be able to win a fight!!!

  • Actually TCC was developed by fighters, check the history of the Chen and Yang families. Of course these days it is largely just slow exercise, but some of the older stuff is still around

  • I remember you! My friend and I trained with you a few times until our military schedule became too difficult. I still remember those few things you taught me for 5 pounds. Get their body to bend in different directions and watch them telegraph their shoulders. My friend went to Serbia to train with one of the senior instructors.

  • gr8 ! ; )

  • excellent display of natural body movements transitioned to atttacks, and the relaxed sense lets you feel when a hits comming since your paying more attention to the person's aggro rather then what your gonna do.

  • Good video - thanks for posting it. Some of those exercises looked real neat. Those guys certainly look like they can handle themselves.

  • some good stuff, some really bad techniques as well. just my opinion

  • Excellent! Relaxation, non-telegraphing, taking into account the natural movements of the body when hit at certain points...

Knock the other guy out before he knows what happened, no "honour", no fighting, just a clean getaway.

Train with these principles in mind or you'll be training for a controlled fight in the ring, not for the street!

  • this system is to inflict as much damage with as little possible energy expenditure

  • One of the better explanations I've seen in regards to Systema.

  • Interesting

  • looks intersting. it´s good advertising too of course. got me curious.

  • Good.

I'm getting a 'lazy' vibe from this art.

  • tai chi look lazy 2 you 2?

  • thats russian system! on the t-shirts you can see "CИCTEMA"!

  • useful to a degree

  • this is pretty useful for further studies

  • Three words...BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU. I´d like to see what they´ll do on the ground.

  • Seven words - HIS FRIENDS KICKING YOU IN THE HEAD I'd like to see what they do in a pub brawl

  • one word pre-emptive, the point is to not get there, this is survival, not who is better or stronger

  • id like to see ground fighters against multiple attackers with steel toe caps

  • Its punches in the face that people are more scared of,ofcourse some body shots hurt but when in a fight that is not the area that most people are scared of getting hit.

You cant train your face to take blows.

  • yes. you can

  • very good. more self defense should be geared towards this realistic training

  • yup its a very nice art derived from european warrior art but its core was mongolian wrestling art called " invulnerabillity" the kozacz (russian tribe) was descended from mongol conquerors- intermarriage w european russian and adopted orthodoxy relig, like me.

  • impressive ive always drawn power from the ground and if you know anything about fighting you know that theres certain stances you have to take that naturally telegraph movements i never thought of using kinetic energy from within the body very impressive if it turns out to be true then im gonna have a new form to learn

  • what do you mean by "naturally telegraph movements"? Please respond.

  • before you kick or punch your body moves so you give a sign that you began your kick or punch!

  • nice

  • An interesting concept...not telegraphing moves. I likee.

  • You think the law states "you have to wait until you have been hit before you can respond!!!"

    Are you joking?

You have to risk being knifed before you can protect yourself.

    F*ck that.

  • Try explaining why you hit the guy first in a court of law. I don't think you'll get very far.

  • In British law you ARE allowed to hit someone first if you BELIEVE you have to at that moment - as long as whatever force you use is reasonable and justified.

  • Better to be tried by 12 then carried by 6.

  • amen

  • i dont know but when somebody is coming at me. I say hey if you want to yell at me then yell at me from over there. But if your going to hit me. Then your going to get into a hitting range. So ill quickly hit there nose if they come close. And i always say its like i have the choice of them or me. I can take the hit or hit them first. I would rather them hit then me.

  • Intent to make the confrontation physical is also telegraphed if you know what to look for. Shrugging of shoulders, or waving of the arms in an exaggerated "what" gesture. this is done to warm up and to numb your mind to large arm movements. Balling the hands into fists,is another sure indicator of what the very near future holds. The last thing is the subject will blade his body to you just before launching his attack. So warm up movements + balled fists + bladed body = fight.

  • I used to train at Vladimir's school in Thornhill, but recently I've moved to Edmonton. Is there anyone here that would be looking a training partner, experienced or otherwise? Feel free to message me on here and maybe we can set something up.

  • Like it. Great clip.

  • what i like about ststema is systema, we focus on the four pillars breathing from which is trying too keep your hips under you movemnet and relaxation. when you punch and you are tense it only goes skin deep but heavey relax hits go deeper.I recommend that everyone try too find a seminar. you wont regret it.

  • very impressed, and no haters! This says something about the quality of this system.

  • the untense and fast movement with out giving away your attack is very similar to xingyi and wing chun

  • I like this and it does make a lot of sense, however, this concept of pre-emptive striking is not new nor is it limited only to systema. Bruce Lee and many before him have propagated this concept, hence the name Bruce used to describe his art Jeet Kune Do (Way of the Intercepting fist) which is all about pre-emptive striking. The one-inch power punch is perfect for someone getting in your face and wanting to do something.

  • WoW! Great for L.E.O.!

  • haven't heard to much good stuff about systema, but wouldn't disagree with anything on this. nice video

  • Well done, I am surprised no trolls have mobbed this one.

  • I agree this is some neat stuff, I remember practicing the "dead hand slap" around 2:38 into the video years ago with Jesse Glover at a camp years ago. I believe other systems have this punch as well. Thanks for the clips!

  • Very very interesting. Basically, don't let the other person see it coming. Suprise is the best element of attack. Tsung.

  • Nice stuff! Makes sense.

  • ditto

  • Rob P consistently puts the best Systema vids on the net - very cool! I can't believe this was free!?!

  • Good stuff
