  • nice english accent you guys asked for it!!!! why dont you show how many turkish you killed in the region as you show you live together but you wanted more by killing them pushing them to leave the island..so luckly we didnt even take whole island we left you place to live so shut up...and be happy what you have...if you carry on we come back again!!be carefull:)))

  • The person who is talking in this video is most likely being funded by the greek cypriot properganda machine. For a start it mentions greeks and turks living happily, what a load of dog crap. My mother is from Famagusta, and when she was young(before 1974), went to school in fear of greek attacks on them. Greeks were armed and randomy shot at turkish cypriots, spat at them as they walked by, treated them like animals and made life hell for the turks.

  • You will nevr be in the EU and shouldnt be in nato

  • THE VIDEO IS BEING exaggerated! LUCKILY MY FAMILY DIDNT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH GREEK CYPRIOTS BUT THEY TELL ABOUT THE STORIES OF SPEAKING QUIETLY ON THE BUSY STREETS OF VAROSHA SO NONE WOULD NOTICE THEY ARE T.CYPRIOTS, ETC... CLEARLY BEFORE 1974 WAS GREAT TIMES FOR G.CYPRIOTS AS THEY HAD ALL POWERS. BUT THAT DOESNT MEAN BOTH COMMUNITIES CANNOT FORGIVE EACHOTHER TO BE ABLE TO MOVE FORWARD FOR A BETTER AND SAFER ISLAND!

  • THERE ARE SOME CONFLICT COMMENTS IN THIS VIDEO, ASWELL AS TRUE AND UNTRUE COMMENTS BEING MADE. FIRST OF ALL, AM A TURKISH CYPRIOT FROM FAMAGUSTA. MY GRANDPARENTS WERE FROM VENETIAN WALLED CITY. BEFORE 1974 THERE WERE NO GREEK CYPRIOTS LIVING IN THE WALLED CITY AND NO GREEK CYPRIOT WERE ALLOWED INSIDE THE WALLED CITY FROM 1963. VIDEO CLAIMS THERE WERE 45000 FAMAGUSTIAN BOTH T.CYPRIOT AND G.CYPRIOT WERE LIVING BEFORE 74 AND ALL 45000 WAS FORCED TO MOVE ELSEWHERE. WHERE IS THE T.CYPRIOT CITIZENS?

  • That part of the city is still in ruin. But, the "tone" of this video is completely false. I lived in Famagusta for a year. I taught at EMU. I can tell you that it is "actually" quite vibrant. This video is dangerously close to propaganda.

  • when i see those images of my home town, it's as though time stood still for me, the streets, and shops i visited, my school and home i once lived in, friends and people i knew as a kid, and know here we are exiled, banished from our homes, please i beg of the powers that be, don't hurt us no more it's 36 long years and we've bean punished enough, lets put our differences behind us and live like normal human beings, but please let us go and build our already shuttered lives.

  • never heard of this place but it looks like it was once a very beautiful place. i hope that that this can be resolved as it seems like such a waste for it to be just sitting there.

  • The Turkish have no right to be in Cyprus and they had no right to invade the Cyprus. They have turned a beautiful part of the island into a shit hole and i hate them for that, they have done nothing with the north of the island apart from run it down and it seems the only reason they are still in north Cyprus is because they are doing it out of spite and think that letting go of the North means they have lost. The UN and EU needs to punish Turkey harshly for these terriable crimes!

  • i live in istanbul and turk. famagusta shouldnt have been in this situation. but as you know, cyprus was occupied by ottoman empire since 1500's. but english goverment took the island from empire and gave it to greeks. we Turks have to get this island back for real "freedom". Or you will see this city as a ghost forever.

  • come on everybody now seriously do you think that turkey invaded cyprus because eoka was killing there people???

it was planned to do so

we are in the middle of meditteranean sea you can control all europe and middle east from here

i think that was just the excuse to do so

imagine your country been held by other people

    how would you react????

  • This is so, so sad to watch! I don't understand why the turks didn't keep the city open and lived in it themselves instead of just shutting it down and leaving it to rot as it is now! That's a shame and the turks don't belong in Famagusta. I really hope that someday Famagusta will be opened again, a free, prosperous city just like it once was!

  • Turkey must end their illegal occupation of North Cyprus! They must recognize Armenian Genocide & Turkey should NOT be allowed in the EU!

  • If it was so bad for Turkish people as you guys claim it was for them living in in Cyprus why did they not go back to their beloved Turkey and live among their own people? They invaded Cyprus took half of it and did nothing with it just left it to rot i think that speaks for itself. If you guys are so victimised and such a good nation why are you not allowed to this day to join the EU? Dont try to blame the cypriot people for the destruction you caused we love our beautiful country.

  • @streetwiseedm Your comments out line the whole problem

You and the Turks blame each other

In my opinion you need your heads knocking together and have a wake up call

I bet MEN were behind all the problems maybe you should move over and let women solve the problem

You guys have been at it for years time for a change dont you think

  • @streetwiseedm Why dont you go back to Greece and live off Germany??

  • @streetwiseedm Why do that when we can just invade.. we didn't even invade the whole island when we could have..if we really wanted the whole island but we dont we just want peace its the Turkish side who is mostly intrested in unification if we were so bad we would have made famagusta 100% Turkish city and not keep it a ghost city..the only people bitching about turkish invasion are racist turkophobic people.

ANIMALS

  • A city victimised by feud which has gone on for far too long. Even if Varosha was reopened, it would cost millions to redevelop. There is nothing in that city which could be used as an economic benefactor. Also, who would pay for the reconstruction of the city? Keeping Varosha closed is just silly, but reopening it will cause a myriad of problems between the two factions. What a mess.

  • its not all famagusta ghost city it's just a part of famagusta which has been occupied

  • Being born in Famagusta as a Turk, sometimes I look beyond the barbed wires and rust and think what a shame indeed.

  • It is 2011. Why not just go back? What are the Turks going to do? Kill all of you? Kill any of you? It is not in their best interest to do that.

  • I don't see insurgents? why don't they go back?

  • barracuda98 eoka performed genocide on the turks they are the animals so learn your history fool

  • @BloodShedS The Turkish Cypriots were the ones who started the inter communal violence. They were the ones who were hiding in the hills outside the village of Kofinou and shooting at people who were traveling on the highway which connects Limasol to Nicosia. When the Turkish Cypriots did those crimes, they got attacked back, of course, but they started it and it was their leaders plan from the beginning to become the victims.

  • it makes me feel guilty as a european, we stood and watched as the cypriots slaughtered turks and then the invasion of cyprus.

  • @paulthepill Big error in your comment. Turks slaughtered Cypriots

  • First of all nor Famagusta nor Cyprus are NOT in Europe,so you can never call it a ghost city of Europe, this video is one sided and not objective, the result of a war has his consequences if ENOSIS and EOKA would not killed innocent Turkish Cypriot civilians including childrens and womens this would never happened,Turkey is the guaranteer side of Cyprus and have the right to protect his own Cypriot Turks.

  • @Barracuda98 turkish animals stop your idiotic propaganda...the whole world knows about you,....and you will never join the EU,...your crimes will be punished by god

  • How was the footage of Varosha obtained?

  • To turkey:

If you really want to invade the city and make it yours, at least continue to open the city and make people live in it. Today land is precious and you just let it there and make it forbbiden to go in, at least make us able to go in! Shame on you.

  • Shame on Greece and the greek cypriots for allowing this to come about due to the genocide of the turks prior to 1974(and you call that peace] tell us about pre 74 if you dare.

  • What a waste, Imagine how big and beautiful it would be right now if nothing ever happened....You think at least turkey would have kept things occupied... they just wasted it... Turkey is a big enough country as it is. Why do they need more.

  • If Turkey is ever to be taken seriously as a modern democracy, it must correct this error of the past. What Turkey did in it's past cannot be placed on the shoulders of the current Turks. However, modern Turks must show they value principles which could not allow such a thing occur or continue.

  • shame on Turkey????? you know why did Turkey do it???Do not comment without information pls! Turkey kept himself for years against the greek grinds tortures to turkish people which live in cyprus. Thousand times warned Cyprus about this. But Cyprus had pushed the turkish citizens to live as animals. How could Turkey tolerate it? They are looking like civilizated people in this video but when they raped 3 turkish student girls in a police department they were not civilizated! believe it...

  • @sivilenginar then if you like the turkish cypriots so much, why bring 400,000 settlers.t/c are not the majority now.as for the killings,i think both sides did some terrible things.look at TURKISH CYPRIOT CONFESSIONS,on you tube.all i say if the english and the germans and the french and the russians can fix their problems, after 2 world wars in which millions died,so can we.will turkey leave the cypriots alone to sort out their problems?i do not think so.there lies the problem.

  • why didnt uk and usa step in and stop it,turkey would of shit a brick if we said you cant or we destroy you!

  • don't mess with turks ...

  • @trig1907 .. or what? you get dirty hands ?

  • What about varosha?

  • No one actually wants Turkey in the EU and eventually the political and financial burden of having to support TRNC will be too much theywill simply walk away. So my friends no talk about hatred between Turkish and Greek Cypriots because like so many have stated on this forum - they lived happily together for generations. They are simply unfortunate souls at the mercy of greater powers who one day will get what they deserve.

  • In essence Turkey invading Cyprus was a foregone conclusion a well laid plan of the Americans and Brits. Turkey never took the whole island because it was pre-agreed, they took more than they should have hence the issues they never thought they would have. They can't join the EU without conceeding Cypriot soil. The French and Germans don't want them joining the EU and truth be said Turkey is no longer as strategically important as it once was so US and UK dont care.

  • The Greeks thought they had America on their side and hence the Greek coup (US backed/motivated ?) however it was never meant to succeed and a per the plan Turkey invaded Cyprus on the pre-text of protecting the Turkish Cypriots. The British who had an obligation to protect the Island did as they always do , they bowed to their American masters as they always do and left the Cypiots to their own fate. To the Brits it was a bit of rough justice for all the troubles the Cypriots caused them.

  • Look I've read several "so" called historical and politically factual books on the whole affair be they true or not. Basically the events that led up to the Turkish invasion were politically motivated from early on 50/60's. The Greeks had their own internal problems and the US was getting fed up with them so a plan was hatched.

  • Famagusta was once regarded as the miami of europe. Not any more.

  • 3. So just be grateful of what you have and thank your british and american friends because if it was not for them there wouldn't be One greek living in KIBRIS today

  • @ozzie4uk does not make it right though.and do you think the world would stay idle and accept that.then what do you say to the kurds in your country that are about 15 million, come and we will give you 40% of turkey to make a kurdistan?your arrogance my freind is your downfall.you tried to be arrogant with the israelis and you got fucked bad.and they are only 7 million.you are in cyprus because of america and britain.one day that plug will be pulled and you will go down.

  • 2. How can Turkey have invaded Cyprus when It had a legal right to it in the 1st place?? In 1974 when The greeks were murdering innocent turkish families and trying to rid cyprus of turks Turkish Government merely interveined and entered Cyprus for Peace keeping but yet are branded as BARBARIC?? You're lucky ECEViT did not take over the whole island because clearly we have and still do have the military power to do so ...

  • @ozzie4uk legal right....yes, but not on such a large surface of cyprus. Almost 50 % of cyprus is turkish now, but the population is 75% greek.....

  • @12123188 in 1974,the population was 82% greek cypriot,12%turkish cypriot and the rest armenians, maronites and latinos.there un resolutions against turkey for invading and occupying, but they are backed by the us and the uk.that is the only reason they are still in cyprus.

  • @ozzie4uk trust me , if we have just sented our fleet you would have never set land in cyprus. You win by treason just like you did in Matzikert and in Constantinople

  • cant beleive there were only 45000 ppl here looks so much bigger

  • What is more disgusting than what happened in 1974 is, people from both sides, still putting the blame to the other side and making an angel of theirselves. You are disgusting bcz you carry the spirit which led this things happen. I am Turkish and I'm not some kind of senseless monster nor are the Greeks. We live in the same shit as long as we don't see it.

  • Why does the Turkish Army want it if they're going to do nothing with it?!

  • @brs320 .... I agree. If they have had it since 1974 and it still looks like this, then they should leave. It's like a car collector going after an old car in mint condition and then letting it rot away.

  • Unlike other ghost towns like Chernobyl, Famagusta is just so beautiful that it doesn't look as sad, but I never heard of it before today. I'm 34 and considered myself worldly. It's really a shame that the city was left like this. I mean with all that it has to offer, you'd think the Turks would at least put it to good use economically! I'm sure there's a lot to the story I don't know either, but still, it's a waste to have a harbor and a small city that isn't benefiting anyone. Or is it?

  • its just like Chernobyl

  • EOKA, TMT are a disgrace and do not reflect the general opinion of Greek or Turkish Cypriots that occupied the island before 1974! The Turks were not protecting turkish cypriots neither the greeks greek cypriots, its all part of politicians plans. Politicians are not the voice of the Cyprus People! The mass speaks for itself, new generations are slowly drifting away from your filtered memories, sickening propagandas and fairy tales you've been shoving down our throats for all these years. U Fall

  • is every person in the video dead?

    like, they died?, got killed?

or just were forced to move

  • after the european court decision varosia are to be returned to greek cypriots ... ammoxostos . the whole area will be returned and rebuilt

  • 35 jears are too much, LET THEM HOME!!

  • result of killing many Turkish civilians !!!!! this video full of lies from first second!!!

  • of course we could have taken back the town peacefully 5-6 years ago had we accepted the Anan plan. The NO-sayers said they dont sell their country. instead they give it away for free

  • @skonte I am not sure what the ANAN plan was but what I do know is that the Turkish invasion was carried out as a direct result in the Greek Generals in Greece trying to prop up their failed rule, much like the generals of Argentina did in the Falkands.

Arch Makarious was preaching ENOSIS (Union with Greece) although Cyprus had been made independent, but it was the Generals action and the realisation by Makarious that the Generals planed to oust him as leader as soon as they seized Cyprus.

  • first that area of island is not hostage, ghost or abandoned. There are lots of hotels and holiday resorts. Secondly is there anybody to be shamed that is certainly Cypriot greeks. why dont you say the real reason of invention which was your pressure to change their turkish name to greek and countles tortures and murders on Turkish ppl . We were just generous we gave you a piece of land to live on. Actually we shouldn't have given , just taken all island. you are just

  • As soon as Arch Makarious realise the generals intentions he had the Cypriot presidential guard attack the Greek army.

Denktash asked first the British for protection as a guarantor but when that was refused he went to Turkey who was also a guarantor and hence the invasion.

Partition was the most effective way of stopping the bloodshed on both sides.

There is a distinction between Turkish Cypriots and Turkish people from Turkey.

The Turkish Cypriots are happy to live next door to a Greek Cypriot

  • @evilert That is extremely ignorant. If it is as you say, surely the UN resolutions would not be in place? Surely the TRNC would be recognised worldwide and not only by Turkey? Surely there would be no isolation of the North. Either way, there were mistakes on both sides, but to someone that knows nothing, a visit to the well preserved mosques and muslim place of worship in the Republic of Cyprus and then a visit to the desecrated churches and graveyards in the north would clear some issues up?

  • FREE FAMAGUSTA, 35 years are a lot

  • The Turkish Cypriots dislike the presence of the Turkish people as much as the Greeks but can not do anything about it.

It has nothing to do with Islam nor with Christianity

It also has nothing to do with EOKA, that was aimed at getting rid of the British which led to independence, which put Makarios into power and then the idea of ENOSIS was born so in a round about way I guess it was EOKA driven.

Famagusta is not developed as a consession the the Greek Cypriots not a bargining tool.

  • the saddest thing is that the turks keep it simply as a negotiating tool. they never planned to take it but they did so because they found it completely deserted. they prefer to leave it there dying than returning it to its people. And all those hypocrites -Americans, British, EU- turn a blind eye to this despicable crime

  • famagusta is a symbolism of the greek armies ruthless attack on us innocent cypriots

they raped our women and killed whole villages, we were in peace before eoka decided to revolt

  • Turkish people invated OUR country KILLED our fathers , brothers , sons . . .DESTROYED everything we buld .. they destroyed our dreams . . for what ??? NOTHING!!! just barberians. . no education .. ..no class. . no nothing , , they only know how to kill, murder. . and feed out of other peoples properties , blod. . . Cyprus was once peacful .. but turkish .. .destroyed. . .EVERYTHING

  • gotta be cheap on all inclusive tho surely? fed up of gettin ripped off in ibiza this looks ideal x

  • t is greed the turks just whanted the land and wer jouls of the city

  • It's funny because it's just a barbwired fense. no electricity no nothing. If I wanted to I could just cut the fence and live happily. The turks ain't defending it and the Cyprus aren't retrieveing it so, I guess it's all mine now bitches! Haha JK about that very last part.

  • @SniperViper1000 But its guarded by the UN and Turkish military...I think they'd have something to say if you just hopped over the barbed wire, and started living happily.

  • its all EOKA fault, we turks wouldnt have tooken over if cypriot turks was left alone

  • sad to see a city die, but honestly, i'm surprised that it hasnt burned down yet!

  • why would we burn it down?

  • same reason your people desecrated our cemetaries, killed innocent civilians/POWS, converted our churches, stole ancient artifacts and still continue to perform illegal excavations of our archeological sites

    simply because its your nature..

  • Why would they kill a well-being peaceful city? It's madness...

  • No it's Sparta!

  • @Epyphite1 I believe you quite an ignorant and Islamophoebic individual! Whwere did you get those "facts"? Slavery evisted until 1960's in Islam? Who are you fooling? The call for Islamic prayer"Muezzin" was first recited by an African, black slave after being bought out of salavery from his pagan master and that was during the time of the Holy Prophet! By the way,im not a cypriot and have grown in cyprus and lived in Famagusta and have seen everything since 1963 and the events that led to war!

  • What beatifull memories it brings to me..had spent six years living there, erom age 9 to 15..always on my mind! I'm not a Greek or Turkish Cypriot but know what had been goin on there since 1963..have seen the 1974 war and all! Hope that Famagusta re-opens again and everyone live in peace and harmony. Its a beautifull town, there is something magical about it..you cant help falling in love with it!

  • Excellent video. It is a shame to see the polarized comments again on this post. The Cypriots need to finally wake up put their differences aside and work together to unite our Island. The healing of the communities needs to start somewhere and the opening of Famagusta would be a good starting point!!

  • release this town back to the true cyprus people of the south side, such a waste and this day of age shame on you european union

  • Turkish Armed Forces will never stop to take steps against inequalities. Everybody knows what were Greek Cypriots doing there.

In 1974, we had the military power to take the whole island everybody knows this too. But today, we are handling only %30 of the island.

  • Cyprus issue began before 1974..

Tell about what have u done between 1963-1974 to turkish community.. tell the what akritas plan involves?

Belong 11years, greeks made modern genocide and killed tousands of turks in the island... Turkish army came to protect turkish cypriots, and it leads to international treaty, Turkey is a QUARANTOR country with Greece and England:) so what?

  • was the most famous beach of the 70s. incredible this!

  • I hear here only "turkish invasion" but nothing about "eoka b". typical propaganda movie

  • and I here only about "eoka b" but nothing about "Mc Millan's dividing plan" or "Hardin governor and his actions" or "TMT and Denktash", typical selective memory

  • @Ciacomo What abou TMT, it was created before EOKA B, why you dont mention this? why you dont mention that EOKA was created because you created TMT.

  • so basically any greek who would kill a british colonel would get hunged and any turk or brit who would kill a greek would get rewarded..oh yes that is the english part the brits forget to mention when they refer to intercommunial violence, they get amnisia for their shameless actions and use eoka as their escaping goat! shame on UK!

  • Famagusta, Hashima, Prypiat............Detroit.

  • @mwadevilg See a pattern?

  • wow that really sucks!

  • just go back make them stop you in front of the world

  • Everyone should ve to read more about this topic before start to judeing.

During the history cyprus belonged Assyrians, Phoenicians, Persians, Greeks, Egyptians, Romans and Byzantines,Crusaders, Lusignans, Venetians, Ottomans and British.

In the 16. century Ottoman empire occupied Cyprus and round 4 hundreads years later it become British colony (British ppl payed rent to the Ottomans to keep this teritory)

In 1960 Cyprus gain ıt s ındependence from England.

  • Cyprus was after claiming it's independence from the British Empire a sovereign state, and Turkey should have had respected it, as such , letting to resolve it's problems on the interior or international level. Turkish invasion was and is a illegal criminal act, intrusion of the internal affairs of Cyprus, and that has no place in the EU. I must say however , that I would like to see Turkey as a EU member, but under these circumstances it is not possible.

  • if anybody kill turkish people, turkish people kill them... if anybody do not do anything, turkish people do not do them....

the greek people did not kill turkish people on 1974i turkish army did not attack them. this is very simple! please think that! anybody kill your people you can atack them. this is very very simple.

  • Heyyyyyyyy ...i Studied there,.. i lived over 4 years there ..wow that was nice people even the Turkish were nice as well...i wanna go back again ... :) Famagusta named also as ( Gazi Magusa )

  • I was in Cyprus few day es ago, beautiful country, people, places...Similar to Greece..Hmm, Famagusta is really ghost town, sad city...I'm from Belgrade, Serbia..well, I do not hate Turks (like someone mentioned below) but...400 years of Ottoman empire was to much for us, so I can say that we do not love them, but certainly we do not hate them! I hope Famagusta will be returned to you.....Greetings for Cyprus people from Belgrade

  • Kosovo = Seriba

    Cyprus = Greece

  • @cvelenbg

However some nation would colonize weak serbs. Turks or Austurians, Huns.. it makes no sense today

  • Shame on you.. There are two sides to a story and minority never get noticed.. If you believe you are a fair judge and want answers i beg you to watch this.. search for 1974 cyprus and watch RE:Cyprus 1974 -Cyprus Truth !! - Part 1 - and 2.. Shame on the greeks and you for trusting lies

  • @billychat21 you know why did Turkey do it???Do not comment without information pls!

  • @fordfocusx YOU serisouly learn wrong history out there....noone pushed turks to leave like animals...turks used to be our brothers...my grandfather know turkish as his best friends were turks...IT WAS YOUR OWN DESICION ..and believe me..you did alot more..

  • @billychat21 you mean THANKS to TURKEY :)

  • just got back from cyprus and cant believe this city still stants empty..what were the yanks and us brits doing back in 74 during the invasion...i'll tell you nothing because the have got no oil or anything else we want...if they were sitting on top of oil it would never have happened. the brits were there in 74 what were they doing sitting around with there fingers up there arses

  • getting murdered by the greeks.. if you want proof watch this.. search for cyprus 1974 and watch RE:Cyprus 1974 -Cyprus Truth !! - Part 1 - and 2.. it will answer all questions.. Thanks

  • SirBaboon AND why were the brits murdered by greeks?? maybe because they were a foreign colonial rule on a foreign land??? hmmm i say they asked for it ; )

  • I was in Cyprus with my Hubby in 2008 celebrating our silver wedding. We went to Famagusta on a trip all the way back i was in tears. It was very upsetting . Same on you Turkey.

Cyprus is a fantastic and stunning country.

  • Cyprus is a beautiful country i was there celebrating my silver wedding with my Hubby in 2008. We went to famagusta on a trip all the way back i was in tears. The site was so very upsetting shame on you Turkey. Even though i like Turkey. This is a very shameful act

  • 35 years

  • Where is multi-cultural left in this matter? Why aren't they marching through the streets carrying the flag of Cyprus and demanding the withdrawal of the Turkish forces?

It's funny how nobody cares about this but so much time and money is given to genocidal maniacs in 'Palestine' who openly pursue genocide...

  • Cyprus was and is cool, who ruined it thats in the past but everyone just look up EOKA this is what mucked the place up, Im glad the Turks protected themselves.. go there meet the cypriot people theya re all lovely but the EOKA just terrorist.. long live Varosha staying closed! when you keep pushing one side into tiny Tented enclaves, and aiming to push them out, they will one day fight back.. if Turkey was wrong why did the world leave them too it?

  • it amazes me how some brits like yourself still use Eoka as the escaping goat for the turkish invasion..you brits never FORGAVE the eoka FREEDOM fighters who picked up guns against your immoral colonial rule, when Eoka first formed in 1955 it's goal was to liberate Cyprus from THE BRITISH your forefathers never forgave them for that, they pushed things to the edge by hanging our heroes - 20 and 22 years old simple cypriot boys whose only crime was their love for freedom

  • @oraclecomponents Because America needed their bases..which we originally rejected...but you made a deal..thats why my friend

  • It's strange. Everyone that borders Turkey seems to hate Turks. Greeks, Armenians, Iranians, Russians, Bulgarians, Serbs....

    Gee. Wonder why that is.

  • i was in cyprus in 1974 i was 14 then as my dad was in the r.a.f. i rememder famagusta as i lovely city Shame on Turkey

  • yes, turks occupied there because this land belongs to them. greeks gotten established without getting permission from anyone so; turks send them their real home.

  • wrong,Greeks have lived on Cyprus for thousands of years ,you only have to look at their history there.Turks have only been there since 1571 when the Ottoman empire brought over settlers from Anatolia ,following the Ottoman invasion of Cyprus,

  • Dude, did you see the ancient greek monuments? So....who was there first?

  • Muslims destroy everything they come in contact with. They want to drag the modern world back to the dark ages when they first showed up. Shame on you muslims, shame on Islam, go find another planet to live on and stop destroying our planets. You people do nothing but destroy and are very selfish.

  • muslims dont destroy.

    this is not about reigion.

in fact if you look at Iraq, Afganistan, Vietnam.

    who did these?

and lets look at europien coulture.

they took slaves from all around the world and made them work for nothing.

    Nothing.

now who is destroying and using people like slaves.

dont look at the world from one window!!!

    have a wider view.

  • I wonder if you feel the same about Israel...

  • The british sure have a knack for getting caught between rival fighting factions

    in other words, colonialism hurts

  • Fresh Fish!!!!

  • Turks and the greeks hate each other so much

Its a bit like the Irish situation you will never bring the two together

It did not work in ierland so it wont work in cyprus

I dont want europe to sort this problem out its not our fight

the greeks hated the british so dont involve us in your problems you have to sort it out yourself

  • Turkish and Greek Cypriots don't hate each other, they lived together peacefully on Cyprus for hundreds of years without any conflict. If it wasn't for outside interference from countries such as USA,UK ,TURKEY and GREECE then there would not be the problems that exist to this day.

  • Shame on Turkey and those Turks who support the military policies of occupation on Cyprus...

  • Can somebody tell me why isnt the Greek army taking famagusta back? it doesnt belong to turks so send them home!

  • Because the turkish army is too strong for the greek army to take on. England and USA were allowed to have their bases in Cyprus on the condition that if Cyprus ever went to war they would stand as guarantor. When the turks invaded (for whatever reason) the brits and americans stood back and watched. To this day the US and UK army still have their bases there. We got f**ked from every angle.

  • you hit the nail on the head !!!!!!!!!! and we are still getting fucked every angle

  • This town should be returned to it's people and restored to it's former glory before it's to late.

  • i am albanian, and i wish to all famagustan all the best with gods help they return soon home.famagusta belongs to famagustan people they need to go home and turks need to leave the people alone.

  • FREE FAMAGUSTA!

  • @iassonaki come and take your famagusta then? what are you waiting for? It is very easy to make comment on youtube.... isnt it? DO SOMETHING THAT COUNTS MY FRIEND, OR STOP CRYING.I dont hate greeks or cypriots, because I dont hate people, I dont hate black, I dont hate brown, pink...But it is obvious that you hate TURKS.And because of that I dont like you.Not hate you ...You are the bigest racist nation in europe and it is stated. because of that , shame on you...

  • WE WILL RETURN!!!

  • Free Famagusta!

What would happen if thousands of the refugees showed up at one time, with the eyes of the world upon them-- and broke down the fences? If the Berlin Wall could fall, why not this chainlink fence?

  • this is a shame for both turks and greeks .they are innocent but the governments are not

  • this is awful , restore it!

  • Comment removed

  • I believe that in death, it will not matter if we had riches, or what country we lived. It will not matter if we were successful or if we were famous. What will matter is if we had compassion for our race. Did we clothe them? Give them shelter? Did we give our fellow beings a meal? Did we help?

Shame, Shame on the people that let this happen...this is a disgrace! May these people be surrounded by mirrors, you deserve your own reflection!

  • I lived in Famgusta for much of my younger life (my dad was with civilian side of British Forces) and I was there when the Turkish Forces invaded in July 1974...it's so sad this wonderful town has been left to rack and ruin?..I spotted the Edelweis Cafe in this video?..it made my cry seeing the old sign again?...how can anyone say this is propaganda?..it's the truth?..what was the point of the Turks invading anyway??????..

  • The Turkish army did not go over there for enjoy! Greeks on the island and especially EOKA,began to slaughter turkish people there! The Turkish army was forced to intervene!Have you been there while EOKA kill to Turks!
