"In order to stabilize world population, it is necessary to eliminate 350,000 people a day. It is a horrible thing to say, but it's just as bad not to say it." — Oceanographer Jacques Cousteau, as quoted in "The Courier," a publication of the U.N. Educational, Scientific & Cultural Organization (U.N.E.S.C.O.)
"A total population of 250-300 million people, a 95% decline from present levels, would be ideal." — Ted Turner of C.N.N., as quoted in the "McAlvany Intelligence Advisor," 6/96
wistful singing for a man who has seen the world as a billionaire, and recognizes the horror and turmoil of it. How's that for pompous pontificating.....
Excuse me for being sentimental but this clip has brought tears to my eyes. Ted Turner represents the best of America. He does his best to represent that American ideal that one can strive to be successful as well as "good" in this world. The former does not have to come at the expense of the latter. He is, alas, now old. Still, he strives to be good and relevant. Inspiring.
I swear he's fucking stoned :')
