For those REALLY loving this track [the one played in the Pilot], I found out that it's available on the "Supernatural" soundtrack. :-D The track is "Dean's Dirty Organ" and the riff used in the Pilot episode starts at 0:26.

this song is an extract of the song: 'Dean's Dirty Organ' from the supernatural original soundtrack - as far as i know you can find it on spotify (which you can download for free) and then if you want the track either buy it off spotify or record the playback from your pc. btw listen to the whole song, this part comes in about 1/3 of the way

I dont think it is an actual song, just a mixture of two things.

Firstly, a common sound, favoured by the compser, so when he/she writes music for whatever is happening at the time, the favoured sound comes through.

Also, maybe it is meant to sound as a reflection of all the types of older-rock/metal type music that the boys listen to/is featured in the show.

I was listening to Rollin' by Big and Rich the other day and I thought I had heard the rift/chords at the beginning of the song before. If you listen, they are VERY similar to this score.

Also, this theme is used in Hell House when Sam pranks Deans Impala radio. :)
