  • Some legends present at this game. Viduka, Speedo (RIP), Martyn, Shearer, Solano, Robson (RIP)

"The defending was awful from Leeds" - ten years later and not much changes! Haha

    From an LUFC fan

  • The Fall Of Leeds United Started Here!

  • What about Solano? Thats a player Newcastle fans should hold deeply in your hearts.

  • RIP Gary SPeed

  • This was the first game I can remember watching fully. Amazing.

  • "The leaders of the premiership are leading again" could get used to that like!!

  • This was my first ever Leeds game. I was 11 and my 9 year old cousin at the time who supports newcastle was sitting with me in the leeds section. Poor lad couldn't celebrate. Amazing game although we lost. MOT

  • always good games between leeds and the geordies , great atmosphere at either grounds . Shearer was a fucking nemesis for us mind .Good banter with newcastle no hatred , how football should be.

  • Viduka you fat cunt. Why the fuck did we ever sign him.

Anyway hope that we'll soon see this game as a Prem fixture once again, both clubs on the up at the minute and a joke they ever dropped out of the top flight!

  • "the leaders of the premiership are infront again"

  • and then half of the leeds team became Geordies - milner, batty, smith, viduka, bowyer, woodgate.

  • Im a newcastle fan, but this leeds team is also one of my favourites.

  • how does such a great team fall like this

  • nobbbbbbbbbbbbbyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

  • rip sbr

  • Good bless the late Sir Bobby Robson and thr Newcastle side that he instilled belief in. I am glad to have been around watching that fantastic team during his tenure. No trophies won but sometimes greatness is not judged on silverware, its how you mould the team.

  • Awesome. Brings back great memories, thanks for uploading.

  • i remeber watching this i was about 5 haha

  • Newcastle, the most entertaining, enjoyable football team in the English Premier League. - Deserve much more.

  • Back in the days were Newcastle & Leeds were fucking mint. Good times :D

  • The Entertainers

  • The Toon Army came back from 3-1 down to 4-3 courtesy of former fullback Robbie Elliott's header, Alan Shearer scored from 12 yards after appeals for handball against a Leeds player and Nobby Solano wrapped it up @ Elland Road.

  • Liverpool, Leeds and Newcastle. The three top fanbases of England.

  • mike ashley are you watching you fat horrible fuckin prick

  • what an advertisement for english football

  • i love Nobby's chilled out celebration at the end.

  • Former Newcastle player Craig Bellamy was unmarked and scored from Dyer's assist.

  • @18PacWest yes i know.....

  • Bobby Robson is a true legend

  • Glory days are not over folks.... we'll see in two years newcastle at top 4 of Premier League.... 88 likes - 0 dislikes.....

  • R.I.P SIR BOBBY i miss you so much

  • Sacking Sir Bobby was the biggest mistake in my 21 years of supporting Newcastle.

  • Ah, these were the days. The early 00s man, Leeds and Newcastle were at the top of their games, Leeds had such an amazing team too. Both huge clubs with amazing nationwide (even worldwide) support, seen some bad times the past few years, and were both the only genuine threat to Sky's Top 4. Both definitely deserve to be in the PL.

Although I'm a Leeds fan, much respect for Newcastle, very similar club to us. We'll be reuniting with the Toon soon enough though. MOT

  • Legend clubs, both of them, even I support only Newcastle.

  • @Ink22i absolutly. my two favourite clubs from england.

  • was really young but this was my first or second away day (of 3 lol)...what a day, sad to think where these clubs should be and where they are...

  • miss these days...does anyone have the 4-3 highlights of the man.utd game from the same season they could post?

  • Fucking Jeff STOCKTON! Never a fucking penalty, showing your true colours FATTY!

  • In the last 20 minutes of the game the ref pointed straight to the spot for a deliberate handball.

  • @18PacWest How the hell was that deliberate? Anyhow RIP Bobby and Speed

  • Leeds are coming back :)

  • Sir Bobby = Legend.

    RIP

  • Am Newcastle fan "no shit ; )" wish Leeds good luck in championship next year, Newcastle may stay up if we get some GOOD players (not shit ones like martins)

  • Am an Arsenal fan but this was one of the great Premier League games along with Arsenal's 5-4 against the scum the same season. Good times. Newcastle are back, hope Leeds make it back too. We need these sides ahead of the likes of Hull, Burnley, Stoke etc

  • 'the leaders of the premiership are back infront again'

    Oh what good times!!!!

  • I remember watching this match with my dad (he's a a Leeds fan)

Of of the best matches I've ever seen

  • Legendary teams, miss them in Premier League, even we (Newcastle) are back. :)

  • Ian Harte - what a bag of shite.

  • Still managed to score a penalty against you the other week.

  • You see Sunday League players score penalties week in, week out. Your point?

  • Bobby Robson does a jig on the touchline when Nobby scores the winner, the guy was a legend, brings a tear to my eye.

  • South tyneside born, love this team it hurts to see us in the 2nd division. bring on promotion via silverware.

  • these two teams were two of the best in this season and how they have ended up in championship and league 1 i will never know. newcastles biggest mistake getting rid of robson and then bellamy, ever since just bought forgeign flops like emre, luque, geremi, xisco, boumsong etc etc..

  • not sure about emre but defo agree wiv signing shit foreigners and defo the other 1s u mentioned .. souness turned up and turfed out robert and bellamy .. 2 of our best players !! disgrace !!

  • Emre and Luque were quality players, the rest fair enough. Sacking Bobby was the mistake indeed.

  • bobby robson, legend, gentleman

  • bowyer the bollox!

  • too bad both these teams aren't in the top anymore, but things are looking good for them at the moment topping their leagues

  • newcastle should of won the league that year, god only knows what the board was thinking when they sacked robson we have been a joke since he left.

  • Souness you cunt

    Robert

    Bellamy

  • Im a Newcastle fan, but i've always had a soft spot for Leeds. Hope we play in the Premiership against eachover one day soon :)

  • newcastle will go back up, but i think it will be a while before leeds get back up lol

  • i was at this match, its sad to see these two not in the prem coz they were both argueably two of the biggest teams in England, Im a Leeds fan but think Newcastle need to return and be great again

  • I agree and glad to see our two team top of the table

  • What a team Leeds had then.

What a team Newcastle had then too.

Anyone noticed that Newcastle have signed a few former leeds players when they were WAY past their peaks. Viduka, Bowyer, Woodgate, Batty..

Now Mike Ashley is rumoured to be placing David O'Leary as manager :S:S

It's a shame about Newcastle and Leeds. :(

    RIP Sir Bobby Robson :)

  • Agreed. What a difference today. Leeds in League One and Newcastle in the Championship.

It all just seems so sad and so long ago.

  • the commentator said when bowyer scored: "that is bowyer doing what he does best"

    NO

causing grievous bodily harm is what bowyer does best. Joey Barton's inspiration. great video, good goals :)

  • harte what a freekick taker

but no pace for a left back

ffirst and last goals were his fault

he could have been a great player if he was fit and had speed

  • best game i've ever been to this.... absolutely mental when Nobby slotted the winner... great times thanks to sir bobby.... RIP legend.

  • Leeds Fan Hear, your memory will live on in the heart of every football fan, RESPECT SIR BOBBY. R.I.P.

  • RIP bobby lad love you!!

  • R.I.P Bobby robson you will never be forgotten. x

  • Bowyer was a great player possibly one of the most athletic midfielders in the world what happened?

  • haha ''does a little jingle before remembering he's nearly 69!!!'' sir bobby robson's the best ever!!

  • the toon will proabably never play this good again for a long long time :(

  • Bobby Robson the best coah of all time.

  • remeber this whatr a midfiled we had remeber solano slotting it in and we went mental!!!! 2 of me fav team demoted

  • bring on the toonarmi :L:D:) haha

  • newcastelll wann :):)

we were unstoppable in this season

    Beating man ure 4-3

    arsenal 3-1

    leeds 4-3

  • i will laugh at you in the championship ehehehe

you have got great support but you are proper losers on the pitch

    chumpionship for you mateeeee

  • I was there and when Nobby scored the 4th I fell about 4 rows down and was hugging some random bloke, what a game. When we were half decent haha

  • whats the diffrence between Alan Shearer and Newcastle United

Alan Shearer will be on match of the day next year

    ehehehheheheh

    hhahahahhaha

    ehehehheheh

    hahhahahahh

crap team cant even beat portsmouth

going down , but were to big a club to go down ,, no your fkin not!!!!!!!

  • We beat them 3-0 down there, and not one geordie I know who watches us every week thinks that we are too big or too good to go down, coz we aren't , as u so delicately pointed out lol. I'm under no illusions about staying up, but if we go down, you will miss us. Who will u laugh at next year?

  • HISTORY !!!

  • We will stay up this year and finish 6th next year under Kevin Keegan with Kinnear as director of football after the sacking of Denis Wise

  • A Newcastle supporter here, proud to see what we were one day and a shame to see what we have become :(

  • same for me i'm a leeds lad but have a real soft spot for newcastle and go to watch both teams now

  • I'm a Leeds United fan but I've always liked Newcastle and I always will, what a game, the good old days for us and for you guys, we need to get that back for the sake of the Premier League...

  • toon toon

  • Seems a million years ago now....=(

  • great times under sir bobby, my best newcastle memories.

  • As a Leeds United supporter of who still travels all over the country watching them, I must say that this was a memorable game. Fantastic and somebody had to win it.

Since then we have fallen and fallen and fallen into the 3rd division. I hope I live long enough to see the day we are back up there and meeting the likes of you again. Have a soft spot for Newcastle, don't know why, but something makes me like them and I hope you get back towards the top very soon.

  • Music to all our ears shearer4nufc

Looking back, it's still hard to comprehend just how things deteriorated so drastically in just seven years that we're now in danger of being relegated

  • its difficult to accept but as we know, life as a newcastle fan aint easy is it, i hope we see times like these once again

  • I remeber this game and all the toon fans shouting at Bowyer "Your Guilty and you know you are"

gr8 times my fav toon season this one

  • 2:00-2:03- "The leaders of the Premiership are in front again!"...

    Music to my ears...

  • omg i remember this game, i couldnt belive what was happening, sir bobby legend and always will be

  • after just watching the Arsenal 1 Newcastle 3 match from December 18, 2001, I commented about our game four days later on December 22 at Elland Road and us winning 4-3. And here it is!

    Thanks for uploading these games!

  • No problems, as a Newcastle supporter these are the only things keeping me going these days, the GOOD TIMES! CUMMON!

  • @trobby I tell you without a shadow of doubt, if we can keep players young players like Carrol around the best will be yet to come. I believe we can be a champions league team and a premiership contender. But we must get rid of Ashley and replace his lot with with a stable administration team which a long term vision for excellence as well as financial stability.

  • That is one of the best matches for the Black and White stripes since the one against Man United in 1996 and 2001.

  • @arita2006 And a VERY Merry christmas that year for the Toon!

  • what happened to dabzzidas

  • he was stretchered off late in the first half after a bad tackle by Viduka, who caught him on his thigh with his studs. Viduka ought to have been sent off but was only shown a yellow, hence Jon Champion's comment after Viduka scored Leeds' second goal just after half time.

  • i think leeds will bounce bk and prob win something major before newcastle ever do.

  • leeds are shit. they might win blue sqaure beforee newcastle

  • Ah, good times

  • "The leaders of the Premiership are in front again" Christ how much I would love to here that again!!!

  • Same for Leeds mate :(
