@vwamvwam Send it to where you live, it will cost around, 15,000 dollars. You need to go the website and send an email to one of the retailers. Good luck!
@APPOCALYYPS3 Actually it is semi-automatic. In a F1 car, on the wheel, you have 4 pads. 2 for the shifter and 2 for the clutch. Double pads.
And i made a huge mistake in that phrase, i wanted to say "automatic gearbox" not "clutch". My bad. He is playing with auto not in manual or semi-auto with the pads.
I used to own a DBox simulator. I am racing formula cars and karts in real life. Fact is that I sold the simulator because the movements did nothing for me. I still use iRacing or Rfactor to learn new tracks but I am now doing it in front of my 60" living room TV in the couch and it works just as well for the purpose of learning the track.
Wrt practicing for my real life racing the movements are really really cool and fun, but makes no difference. Another major flaw is the soft brake pedal.
Just ignore the idiots making stupid criticisms. Obviously they have no life except to make misinformed comments about something they don't understand on youtube all day long, mostly because they are jealous.
is there a chassis kid for or only the whole thing would be intresting to get only the platfrom and what should that cost ?! because i want a way better seat on that and a waaay better wheel and pedals and the screen ?! no talk abbout that ;)
A racing sim-center is getting ready to open next to UCF in orlando that will have 8 full motion simulators linked together to start then have 16 within a few months for sim leagues and tournaments or even just practice play with rfactor and iracing software!!!! should be open by the end of the year!! It is going to be freaking addicting!!! Instead of joining a flag football league you can join a racing league. There will also be heat race style tournaments!! feature winner wins money!
Personally i think it looks fab 5* , I'd like to see the monitor a little closer to the users eyes , a tiny amount of cockpit vibration onscreen and a tiny amount of yaw+lookahead onscreen and maybe a lower F.O.V value like 30-40 degrees appx . I suppose it's crying out for some kind of VR goggles .
Ive have used the simulater myself and it was a load of fun. I can see kids who want to race use this to prepair for the real thing, also i can see pro's using this too. the only down fall is that it did take me a while to get good at it.
Just a few observations. When he lets off the gas (while he was on the straight), he should be forced forward (positive G), but nothing happens. Also, no jerking movement while changing gears. It is not that smooth in real life. Still, it may be the game itself not the simulator.
Actually the problem isn't the chair or the game, it's the software in between. They just need to dial it in a little better, perhaps even adding a few tricks like gear shift and vertical acceleration. Good luck.
You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but it doesn't alter the fact that there are thousands we have demonstrated this unit to who disgree with you totally. If it was so unrealistic, real race car drivers wouldn't be using it as a training tool, would they? :)
I am a real race car driver and I have talked with others who agree. You are right, people do have their own opinions. I am just trying to see the other one, after I tried the simulator myself. I don't get how tilting sideways is realistic.
@GrumpyOleMan Real race car drivers use real race cars for training. You see them on this oddly moving devices only cos they was invited in promo purpose.
You do see celebrity drivers on motion sims for promotional purposes, but there are also a ton of drivers who use simulators for training purposes. Drivers use them to learn new tracks, learn and sharpen up their driving techniques
You clearly have no concept of what motion simultors do. They do not replicate forces, but rather provide cues that fool the mind it believing you are experiencing certain forces. You cannot even approach .5G with tilt, so you clearly are not speaking from an informed position. Jolts do little more than give the impression of movement, but do not tell the mind you are turning in a given direction.
Try to study motion simulation before you criticize
i reckon this tilts way too much, if you use the d-box the movements are smaller but way more sharp and realistic, so ur not practically looking up at the sky when ur accelerating and looking at the gruond when ur braking
You don't look at the sky or the ground. The monitor moves with the unit so you are always looking straight ahead. Don't confuse short sharp movements with realisim. There is a sustained force when you go through a turn, not a short jerk and then nothing. Many of the partial motion simulators use this method to cover for the fact that they cannot produce full motion
yes but a real car the windscreen isnt going to move for you... in an f1 car the pull back is so heavy that your head does infact end up in the shy in somecases :)
@TedWinni i hate guys like you. i barely know about racing but i know that their helmets and heads are basically stuck in place to prevent whip lash, you fagot
What is the sense of the screen being fixed without IR tracker when the horizon tilts together with the chair this way (thus, minimising the nice effects of the movements?
You'rather want the player to have the impression that the horizon never tilts but the chair tilts (as in real life).
You are confusing the movement of the simulator with the motion of the body of the vehicle. The motion simulates forces felt by the driver, and not the motion of the car body.
The movement of the horizon is shown in the software simulation, and moving just the seat creates a very unrealistic view, not to mention that it moves the driver towards and away from the steering wheel, screen and pedals. That is not what you want to give a realistic feel
I see what you mean: you want the player to feel centrofugal forces and momentum shifts caused by acceleration and brakes.
My confusion comes from the fact that i am used to flight simulator logic (haha) and it doesn't apply on the car--the car is more or less flat at all times, while the plane tilts alot but you want the horison the stay the same.
Erick, you can set the motion as rough or a soft as you like. it can be set to a level where you will feel the jerk when shifting. You can also feel it when you get airborne and the bump when you land (Climbing Turn @ LRP or Flugplatz.
Better than most but it seems like the thrill would be gone after two or three rides. Seems like the old mechanical pony rides for a quarter one would find in front of a grocery store.
It is anything but boring. It takes a while to get used to, but when you have run it a while and go back to a static setup, you will find something BIG seems to be missing. :)
Trazer, what it looks like and what it feels like are 2 different things entirely. Watching someone in a Disney ride looks kind of boring, but when you sit in that seat, you get swept up in the motion combined with the visual cues, and it becomes very real
Don't trust your eyes, trust your butt in the seat. :)
Can I just rock my swivel chair back and forth to pretend the motion simulator?

The 'windscreen' isn't moving. Relative to your seated position, nothing is moving.
And in F1 you are securely belted into the car, and your head goes nowhere.

Unfortunately it ended up too pricey!
It must be a better fit for flight sim than racing. There is no punch at all when shifting gears or braking hard...
