Sorry to say it, but Reagan was a big government disaster. Unemployment was higher in his term. The national debt increased massively greater then under Carter. Not only that, but he had the biggest tax hikes I believe. He was also (not surprisingly) a corporatist. His tax cuts did nothing because he was spending massive amounts of money.

America, along with UE, are doomed to disaster. You can't fix a broken system, with a broken system. The Global meltdown is coming.

Reagan became prez 1980 AFTER 4 years of the 'jimbo' DISASTER. Interest Rates, UNemployment, and Double Digit Inflation were Totally Changed to Great Prosperity over his 2 terms. He did NO tax raises, but tax CUTS.  It took 2-3 years to turn the economy around.

I'm no liberal pal. After his tax cuts, he realized that tax cuts were quite useless if you don't cut government spending as well. He then signed in very large tax hikes. The national debt never decreased ONCE under him. Sorry, Reagan was not a good president.He spoke perfectly on the size of government. Yet, he was a do as I say, not as I do character.

He started the Drug war. He implemented Gun control laws. There was no such thing as prosperity under Reagan. It's all a myth. Just like clinton

Also, Reagan had the largest tax increase in American history (I didn't even know this). Reagan ended up having a 250 billion deficit.

But there has never been a president who didn't do something amazingly dumb. Even Jefferson, with his secret taxes and illegal wars and tariffs.
