To say Paco boy is anythin but a class act is an insult. Winning this race easily and finishing second to goldikove is not small feat. Sure goldikova had its measure but only lost by a head in 1 race in which i think paco boy left it too late. Sure he lost to goldikova but who hasnt?? Great horse who i wont be afraid to back again
@GBeret83 Hi bud.Paco boy for me wasn't a miler lol i know he has some g1 wins at the trip but he was always labelled as a 7f horse.I would have loved to seen Paco Boy vs Black Caviar over 6f that would have been a great race but Hannon disliked the accusation he didn't stay a strongly run mile & for breeding purposes IMO tried proving he did.Still in the top 1m g1's he didn't stay it was simple lol
I certainly can't find any faults with the way Paco Boy has been racing in 2010. He was already a great colt in 2009, but he seems a vastly improved horse to me in 2010. Starting with his win at Sandown in the Bet.365 mile. Then winning the Lockinge Stakes here at Newbury. Then he ran a super effort at Ascot in the Queen Anne Stakes. Beaten only a head by legend, Goldikova, in that race. Rip beat Paco Boy in the 09' Sussex Stakes. But I think if the two meet again in 2010? Paco Boy beats Rip.
I wouldn't sell Goldikova short just yet. Let's see what Paco can do if he has to swing 5 wide around the final bend at Churchill. That was as perfect a trip as you can get.
