Bryan Adams doesn't need profanity and he doesn't need to write about drugs. His lyrics touch the heart and soul and make people happy and what he writes inspires them.I fall asleep to this song nearly every night. Bryan is old school and I wish he would slap the other songwriters and show them how it's done.

I personally think that this song is about always returning home. Spirit throughout the entire movie, his goal is to return back to where he came from, and not let anyone break his spirit. So, he talks about how being on the open plane with all of his family and the ones he loves. He is finally able to return to a place where he belongs because he never forgot where he came from
