Obviously the musicians involved had the foresight and good taste to celebrate their inspirations, as Entwistle did with this faithful cover of the Johnny Cymbal classic. Too bad that so many in their audience were obsessed with flavor of the month mentality to get it, though.
John sings all of the vocals. Did you ever see the Rolling Stones RnR Circus? He sings falsetto. So think from falsettos to the baritones of Boris the Spider. No wonder he lost his voice in the latter years.
I can;t decide if this is supposed to be a mocking criticism of country music, or an tribute to it.

Too bad there is no video or legitimate bio of who sings what here. GREAT VIDEO still! (or shall I say "song"?

With the Who, John provided the high falsettos and also the occasional deep bass part. Quite an amazing vocal range.

@TakeUsOutOfThisGloom John on "A Quick One" at the Rock 'n' Roll Circus is simply amazing falsetto work. I've never heard anything like it.

he's not the higher voice. i'd be willing to believe he was the lower one.
AnarchyRules17 2 years ago
John is not the low singer. The high singer sounds like him. I'm almost positive it is him.
ShadowOfADoubt9 2 years ago
Well, maybe he sang both voices.

John is (shockingly) the bassier (if that's even a word) voice in this song.
lunarsandwich 2 years ago 6
I though he was the highest voice ? The bass voice sounds really too... bass to be his voice.
Or he really had an incredible vocal range, and it's a shame he wasn't the lead singer of the Who. ^^
Canaveral305 2 years ago 4
"Boris the Spider" and "You are Forgiven" show off his range
FanofTheFloyd 2 years ago 2
woah wait, so that's John singing the really low part? I think I just squealed a little... And it's official, John can do EVERYTHING!
