  • There are people alergic to meat. My brother and a close friend of mine are. If they eat it, they would have to be rushed to the hospital.

  • @JerseyKac92: Yes, this can happen. It us usually shellfish (because of iodine) but some are allergic to mammals too. However this is fairly rare and is due to a type of carbohydrate (basically a type of sugar found in none primate mammals). This still doesn't take away all the other animals that could be eaten and is a component of meat and not meat itself. Food allergies to plants are far more common.

I found this information after I made this video, over a year old so it is dated.

  • @BLHProductions I was referring to red meats, which is the majority of all meats that people eat. Plant allergies are by far more common but plants contain a much larger variety of nutrients, minerals, and components. And I'm pretty sure people aren't naturally designed to eat meat because meat rots inside a person's intestines because it's much longer than the length of a carnivores intestines, for years, even. This is pretty much why people get colon cancer and many other related diseases.

  • @JerseyKac92: If one is allergic to strawberries one doesn't give up all other fruit or plants do they? Being allergic to meat is fairly rare, but it does happen. But this is no more an argument against eating meat then allergies to eggs, milk, strawberries, or nuts. From what I understand, humans lack any allergies to avian and fish species.

Actually no. Meat contains the highest variety of nutrients. You would be hard pressed to find a plant that pound for pound has more nutrients then meat.

  • @BLHProductions Yea, but you never confronted the issue of the human digestion system. That's the real argument against it. Because clearly people have been eating meat and surviving; however, large consumption of meat results in cancers and being overweight and digestion problems. And people technically don't even have to eat meat to survive. Gorillas and various other types of primates have a vegetarian diet. People just acquired the taste of it.

  • @JerseyKac92: The human digestion system is like that of a dog's. It has acid in the stomach, the stomach is single chambered, the stomach could be removed and the organism could still survive (gastric bypass), then in the intestines the food is further broken down and protein, fat, carbohydrates, and amino acids are all able to be digested.

Cancer is also caused by plants and sunlight...so don't go outside I guess, per your argument. Also you get fat with calories, not meat.

  • @JerseyKac92: For some people you don't, others have gotten sick on a veg diet and gotten better after eating meat (these were hardcore long term vegs too), but you don't need a computer to survive either, which we both obviously have.

Gorillas eat meat too, insects are animals. Chips hunt, kill, and eat other primates; humans are closely related to chips.

Homo Sapiens are all omnivores. Our immediate ancestor also was an omnivore. We did evolved from herbivores though.

  • @JerseyKac92: Also the nutrients in plants are harder to get to because we can't digest cellulose. So on that you are mistaken. Many ex-vegans have said that a little bit of meat fed them better then the variety of plants they ate per meal.

Actually that too is false. Humans are omnivores, we digest meat as soon as we chew, in fact the stomach acid we have activates pepsin to form pepsinogen which is used to digest protein. The place where food rots and causes problems is the large intestine.

  • @JerseyKac92: However this is true for any type of food because the fecal matter contains toxins and what the body can't use. If this sits too long it can lead to collo-rectal cancer. However it is vegans and vegetarians who have higher instances of colo-rectal cancer, but fewer overall types of cancers.

Comparing humans and carnivores is a bad idea. Compare humans with an omnivore like a dog and we are similar. Compared to a cow we are very different.

    Cancer: news.bbc. co.uk/2/hi/7942479.stm

  • @BLHProductions Actually, that's not right. Vegetarians and vegans will not get those cancers. Look it up. People don't have to be omnivores. Just saying.

  • @JerseyKac92: That is from the BBC and is a respected news outlet. So I have, I provided the link for you too. It said that while vegetarians get fewer types of cancers they get a select few more often.

People don't need computers. A want isn't wrong simply because it is a want. And I get a lot more from meat for sustaining my life then I do from a computer.

  • @BLHProductions Btw, when debating you should stick with the topics given, not broad and totally unrelated answer. But I'm referring to digestive system cancers, Gorillas thrive without meat, ie flesh. I don't think insects should be considered meat because it does not contain flesh. People are more closely related to Gorillas than dogs. Meat contains saturated fats which cause people to be fat and I believe that it is the reason for most people having pot bellies. People eat too much meat.

  • @JerseyKac92: I was. You said humans don't need meat, I told you we don't need computers. You said things that were not true and I told you the facts and provided a link and then informed you about it again when you said what I said was false.

Gorillas also eat all day and live where food is plentiful. But are the vegetarians? Not if they eat meat and they eat meat. Chips go father and eat other primates. Neither does a jellyfish. Both these are animals though.

  • @JerseyKac92: Many people eat too much meat, but people have drank so much water that it kills them. This is a reason to not drink excess water, not to stop drinking water. Any food can make you fat. Meat has more fat in it in plants so it is easier perhaps, but if you eat more calories then you expend you will gain weight. You can be fat on any diet. Actually I believe the consensus even with vegs would be chimps. Chimps eat meat, but hey, so do gorillas.

Yep, can't be sugar and no exercise.

  • @BLHProductions Well here's some proof that you don't need meat. I've never eaten meat before and I've survived for 19 years and I've never had to take supplements or anything else to survive. And I also hit the gym pretty often so I'm not scrawny or anything. So any argument that claims that people need meat is obviously wrong. I believe that if people are raised eating meat then go veg they are at risk for all of the sicknesses and supplement requirements. And since when do Gorillas eat meat??

  • @JerseyKac92: I do believe I said that not everyone needs meat. You may be fine on a meatless diet, but other people have gotten sick and have been informed by doctors and dietitians that they should eat meat. A vegan of 20 years had to go through this. Also, if you are a vegetarian you will be better off on that diet then a vegan diet. But people swear that a frutarian diet works and also a breatharian diet (eating nothing).

  • @BLHProductions Vegan diets are just as healthy in my opinion or healthier. I believe that the problems occur with people who were raised eating meat then become vegan or vegetarian. I'm practically vegan. and it offers all the same benefits of eating meat without the disadvantages.

  • @JerseyKac92: You being OK on a veg diet meaning people shouldn't eat meat makes about as much sense as saying people who get sick on a veg diet means people should eat meat. Case by case basis as all humans are different.

I've briefly tried a vegetarian diet and didn't like it so I quit. Not like I eat meat with every meal though or in large amounts.

But then what happens through eating meat that makes it so they need it?

Insects are animals and meat protein. Not muscle meat, but still meat.

  • @BLHProductions But insects and bugs are still not flesh. They are pretty much just protein. And I consider myself healthier than most meat eaters, because I know countless numbers of meat eater who end up in the hospital for various diseases that seem to result from eating meat.

  • @JerseyKac92: They are not flesh as an animal is, but they are considered animals and they are obviously not a plant. So they are considered to be "meat." As such, people who are vegs try to avoid eating insects and they would not consider you an actual vegetarian or vegan if you at them.

Are you sure it was from eating meat and not just from a poor diet? If I ate fries and alcohol I would be a vegan, but I would not be healthy. A healthy diet is healthy regardless.

  • @BLHProductions Well anyways ust puttin out some material. Good points.

  • One of my relatives are alergic to crab meat, but not all meat..... thats impossible..... UNLESS SOMEONE POISONED ALL YOUR MEAT
