  • ' but we sin daily.Nobodys perfect' = ' were muck on the ground '???

My dear, please get some schooling in critical logical thinking. And try to get some self respect.

  • Faith is blindly accepting things without proof. We are beyond that, and in regards to the complexity of the natural world, even if evolution was to be dis-proven today, there is still no reason to believe in a supernatural being, creator of the world or other. And that's the reality of the matter.

  • @BeckaMorena You know nothing about what you believe then.Because Atheism-Evolution is just as crazy in fact even more! You say you believe in evolution well then you believe we come from nothing you believe we come from aROCK.Look in to Atheism because chances are you just got brainwashed by it in school. Now I could be wrong you could have come to it yourself, but i want you to know thatEVERYTHING has to be created including Man.A lamp can't just happen right? There was Jesus and he is in History

  • @icewomen881 I know exactly what I DON"T believe in. Atheism is not tied to evolution. My personal experience had nothing to do with science but everything to do with common sense and rationality. Once I allowed myself to be honest with MYSELF about the word (Bible) I realized I couldn't buy it. It's all or nothing, done cherry-picking here. Evolution is not only theory but FACT. Also, a lamp didn't just happen? Well NO, I can track down the designer of such each and every single time!

  • @BeckaMorena Jesus was a perfect being on Earth in history...there is proof he did things people couldn't and still can't. Jesus loves you and thats why he died for you.The Bible is the truest book you'll EVER read! IT is TRUE!!

  • @icewomen881 And, I don't pretend to KNOW how we got here. I also don't make up stories to make sense of it all. Scientists follow the evidence, and everything leads to a certain conclusion. The big bang theory is separate from the evolution theory as well. How can sit there and say that there is PROOF of Jesus' existence and what's more, proof of his miracles? This tells me you are extremely misinformed, you are extremely biased, or better yet; Both.

  • @BeckaMorena There is proof! You are misinformed actually because if you were following the most logical one you would be following Jesus, Christ. Also please tell me why we supposedly come from a rock?Or evolution tell me how we are monkeys????!There is NO proof in what you believe, but as for what i believe i have so much proof i can go to the beach or take a trip to a mountain and THATS ALL THE PROOF we need! How can that just HAPPEN??????There is n proof because it has never happened in history!

  • @icewomen881 The wonders of the natural world are NOT PROOF I'm sorry. I'm not going to sit here and explain evolution, but if you are honestly interested you will do some HONEST research, and places other than creationist websites. Better yet, start reading the bible and if you're a woman good luck swallowing the reality of what being a virgin, a non-virgin, a virgin sold into slavery, a wife not allowed to speak in church, and only ask questions at home who must cover her hair is all about.

  • @BeckaMorena Trust me youDON'T need to explain evolution i've read plenty of it and was forced it in school! But anywayI have read the bible not allof it butI am hopingto. And the Bible timesweren't perfect i think you learnALOT from the Bible.Anyway the Bible talksabout Salvation and girl well you need it.I was in your place not longago atheist, depressed, and unhappynow your probably not depressed, but youare atheist and areyou gonnaactually tell meyou can look atthe beach and say it just happend

  • @icewomen881 Have you ever thought about why some evolution is taught in schools? Do you think it's because it's a big lie? Or because there must be something rational behind the theory? I have never been happier actually then when I woke up from that long induced coma of religion. My life is about the real world and I appreciate it even more today knowing that I don't have to keep telling myself that my "afterlife" will be better than this. The beach didn't "just happen", not by magic anyway.

  • @BeckaMorena Im sorry, but saying that just because evolution is taught in schools makes it true is a horrible point.I can prove it wrong.Anyway i'm not religious im a follower of Jesus,Christ!I was"religious"at one point, but religion doesn't say Jesus does. And it sounds like your scared of the after life.you just think your just basically gonna disappear, but your bound for hell thats why there Jesus! You are not perfect thats why He died for us.And you still have a religion you have faith in it

  • @icewomen881 Evolution is true because the world shows us the evidence of such. Why do you thing Intelligent Design isn't taught in schools? Because it is full of crap! No rational arguments or evidence W H A T SO E V E R. You can prove evolution is a lie??? I also didn't follow "religion" I had a relationship with Jesus Christ and blah blah blah it's still a big FAT LIE. Sorry not afraid of an afterlife, because guess what?? It's a baseless assumption to think there is one in the first place!

  • @BeckaMorena Calm down!Did you really have a realtionship with him i thonk not because now you don't believe in him i think you were and still are living a lie.Why do you hate Christians maybe because we can prove you religon wrong and as you said before you were religous(LIE).....watch what you say it may come back to haunt you!You seem as though you have a hate towards me,WHY?Evoultion says we come from a rock now think real hard have you ever seen a living thing come from a rock?

  • @icewomen881 What? I hate Christians? I hate you?? Evolution is my religion?? LOL. I'm not the one making assumptions or casting judgement upon you.According to you; I don't know what I believe in, I'm brainwashed, I'm hell-bound, am scared of an afterlife, I never REALLY believed in jesus christ, and my favorite: My words will come back to haunt me...Pathetic. Read slowly this time: My lack of belief has little to do with evolution and everything to do with common sense.

  • @icewomen881 Also, I find it more plausible for life to "spring from a rock" through chemical/biological reactions, then it is to assume "god and his magic wand did it".

But again, read slowly; I don't pretend to know the how and when. You said the bible times weren't perfect however your God says he is perfect so you should have no problem following his perfect word, woman. Do you really believe that it is shameful for a woman to speak in church? I see you have no problem keeping SILENT.

  • @BeckaMorena so then you must also think babies "JUST HAPPEN" instead of two people having a kid right?Oh very intelligent way you say it , but you STILL think we come from a rock. And God is perfect he doesn't have a wand, but science isn't perfect. You can be happy with You rock while i'm happy with my LOVING, GREAT, and POWERFUL God that sent his son to save me and you.But if you do respond respond to what i ask you because you completely avoid my confrontation.

  • @icewomen881 What are you talking about? We know how babies are made.

You didn't answer my question. What do you think about 1Corinthians 14:34-The women should keep silent in the churches. For they are not permitted to speak, but should be in submission, as the Law also says.

  • @BeckaMorena As i said i didn't have all the answers, but God does-Prayer-.Or a Christian pastor.Like i said babies don't come from a rock and we have never seen a living thing come from a rock.NO PROOF! Also if you read further on from the passage it might explain. But are you a Feminist? No evince though.I think personally it's saying men should be pastors not women which some churches do have women pastors especially in the all black churches.

  • @icewomen881 I am not a feminist. I am a woman who believes in gender equality and anything less is unethical. But my question was, what do YOU think about it? The following verse (35) goes on to say: If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church.

  • @BeckaMorena One thing before i say what I think of it why are you even asking me this i don't have to explain myself if your an atheist that no evince seems pretty stubborn.anyway what it means to me is(not that the wife is being attacked im a girl myself) that the man of the house brother, husband, or father etc. should be the leader not that the women can't be leaders, but that men should be asked there opinion. But that is not gonna convert you Christ is in your heart!:)

  • @icewomen881 I asked a simple question about your opinion on this verse and you gave me a translation. I asked for your opinion. Do you live by this? If no, then why not?

  • @BeckaMorena I GAVE YOU MY ANSWE.Thats what i thought about it it's not a translation just because it's right and really is that something to get mad at?P.S nothings ever evolved so how can evolution be true(not trying to twist tables though).

  • @BeckaMorena God didn't want to force people to follow him which if they were perfect they would. He wants to let us chose.;)

  • @icewomen881

Does your god concept have free will? Does free will exist in your afterlife concept?

And why would knowing more about something make a choice over it less free? If I participate in a clinical study, the more information I get about the treatment, the better informed I am and the more I make an actual choice, not less of a choice.

  • @wimsweden I WANT to live for God i WANT to be with him he made earth for me loves me AND SAVED ME!:)I WANT I don't NEED.Read the Bible if you have questions becaause i know you don't think God serious stuff, but you don't want to go to Hell.

  • Sure, keep telling yourself that. In the meantime I'll just have a personal relationship with reality instead of a fairytale.

  • And one more thing the universe has many laws, who put them into play????? I assume she believes in the big bang.Where did the energy come from and the matter? Two planets are spinning backwards!!! Thats the opposite of the big bang.

  • @icewomen881 Why do you assume somebody "put them into play"? The world isn't like a big board game y'know.

  • @Idlethumb88 Yah,but the world came from something not nothing and thats a topic i can debate forever because i am a missionary for Jesus,Christ. Spreading the word and how Jesus died on the cross.I'm saying there is NO proof of the big bang or evolution. Everything has to be created.I know that from LIFE. Everyone knows theres a God. Atheist are basically Agnostic they do not know. They are trying to find that thing in life that makes them happy, but i know from experience God can ONLY do that.

  • @icewomen881

"Everyone knows theres a God. Atheist are basically Agnostic they do not know."

See how you contradict yourself there. Maybe you're wrong about other stuff too.

  • @icewomen881 Well, i'm already happy even without believing in fairy stories. You know why you believe this bullshit, because you're afraid of death.Religion is a placebo cure for the fear of death, that's all.Thats why religious people get so angry when you talk shit about it, because they know it's not true but they want to maintain their delusion because otherwise they have to face the reality of their own mortality. No matter what you tell yourself, your'e mearly soil fertilzer when you die.

  • @Idlethumb88 Everyones afraid of death, but no your actually wrong i was actually just sad in life, but God created a miracle and now im happier then i've ever been. You know whats coming to you and i knew it to, but iexcepted God liked he'dALWAYS excepted me.I'm happy in my life and content with my decision i'm not like any religious person and i'm not religous i'm a follower of Jesus Christ and i can say that because Jesus bled on the cross for me and you he created earth for me and you thats why

  • @icewomen881 Ok then, enjoy your life.

  • @Idlethumb88 HUH?Did you just give up?Come on i thought you were a cocky atheist.;)Just kidding...and Will do.God Bless you.You will want to know Christ he CAN change your life!He did it for me.

  • @Idlethumb88 also im not delusional God is the way the truth and the life. You are searching I'm finished.Im not religious religion, says do Jesus says done!:)

  • It's not religion, it's a relationship with the God of everything. '' Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.'' Matthew 7:7

  • I love Joy but she shouldn't say things like "I'm not gifted with faith, 'cause I believe it's a gift"... saying that makes it sound like faith is something to be desired. And I wish she didn't say "I'm pathetically pragmatic". No Joy, being pragmatic is not pathetic... it's admirable... it's rooted in reality... I love you for it... to be pragmatic and rational is a real gift worth admiring.

  • This is why I like Joy. She says what she feels without making it personal. And I liked what she said about not making it an us versus them mentality and how such a mentality causes holocausts.

  • saying that u have a relationship with god,..is really close to having an imaginary friend. also,..faith is not a virtue

  • Too many questions, not a single shred of any proof of a "deity", or any kind. What else would a sane and intelligent person think?

  • pretty dumb views, thinks pascals wager is a smart thing to do :/

  • joy pick that buybull up ,your learning too much

  • yo, father's a hottie

  • JOY YOUR NOT THE ONE WITH THE PROBLEM!!!

  • Hmm, I'm not 100% convinced that this isn't Michael McDonald playing a priest in a MadTV-esque skit. Maybe I'll pray for wisdom about this. LOL!

  • @phxflyguy lololol i thoguht the same shit LMAOOOOO

  • I agree. That guy is full blown gay. Poor dude.

  • @samuelsethprophet gay preacher's, nothing new. religion is bs

  • Thanks you for posting this, wimsweden.

  • @writersblock26

    You're welcome. :-)

  • Joy is surprisingly interesting to listen to. Thanks for sharing this discussion.

  • This is the first time I have seen a flaming homosexual albino dressed as a priest. Is this guy really gay?

  • This is the first time I have seen a flaming homosexual dressed as a priest. Is this guy really gay?

  • Gay priest?

  • i don't know why he keeps contridicting her she's only giving her oppinion as this is an interview shes not shoveling it down his throat or dissrespecting his beliefs in anyway

  • He came off as pompous and rude. "Oh, you don't feel empty?", "Really, you don't believe in the afterlife?" Condescending. Joy handled it well; put him in his place but wasn't rude. And yes, he's gayer than a picnic basket.

  • Now come on...that priest is gayer than a picnic basket!

  • This guy is an idiot.

  • If you are not a theist and you don't ascribe to those claims and beliefs, you are an atheist.

  • @Neanderthalcouzin

She has a rather inconsistent position. During the interview she says something along the lines of I don't think there's an afterlife coz I'v never seen any evidence for it. She can say she's an a-afterlifeist, but saying she doesn't believe in a god is somehow a bridge too far. I guess it comes with the common misunderstanding that an atheist claims to know there are no gods. Maybe, whenever someone says they're agnostic, we should say 'Aren't we all?'

  • @wimsweden good points. it always annoys me when theists argue that atheists are 'arrogant' for denying the existence of god. really, we're simply stating that there is no evidence for this god's existence, and so we don't believe in it.in any case, the burden of proof is on the believer, not the non-believer.

  • @Neanderthalcouzin I could be misinterpreting you, but I don't think that you need to be religious to believe in God. I'm a perfect example.

  • @KrfNYC2

I think religion can be defined as a set of beliefs about some supernatural being or beings. According to that definition, you are most certainly religious. How would you define religion?

  • @wimsweden Well I just consider the word religion to encompass all of the trasitional faiths such as Islam, Christianity, Judiasm, Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism, Jainism etc.

  • @KrfNYC2

How do you label yourself? A deist, pantheist, panentheist, etc.?

  • @wimsweden I'm just someone who believes in a higher source and I really don't claim to believe anything beyond that. So whatever that makes me.

  • @KrfNYC2

Did that source create reality or does it just co-exist with it. Does it exist in space and time? Does it think? Does it impose ethical requirements? Does it provide an afterlife? Does it punish/reward?

  • @wimsweden I definitely don't believe in punishment and reward. Does it think? I haven't thought about this, nor do I plan to. Does it provide and afterlife, I would think so. In a vague sense. I do think that we have souls that go beyond our body. I'm kind of just thinkingout loud right now. I don't have a solid definition for this source. I don't have any traist to attribute to it. I just believe that there must be something higher.

  • @KrfNYC2

Do you think your personhood survives after death or do you think your "soul" is some kind of impersonal life energy that returns to the "source"? Like some form of panentheism where the universe is an extension or manifestation of an impersonal force ("God") that everything is eventually sucked back into? Do you think this "higher" being imposes a purpose on this life? If you do, you would seem to be moving into a more personal god concept again.

  • @wimsweden I don't belive anything specific about this source. I will say that I don't think that it judges our actions and sends us to either heaven or hell. I just have a hard time believeing that all of this (the universe) came to be randomly created and that there is no higher source responsible. I just can't bring myself to believe that. It's a very vague belief. I honestly don't even care to think about it too much.

  • @KrfNYC2

"I honestly don't even care to think about it too much."

I think you would feel very much at home here in Sweden. :-) Most people here are apatheists, i.e. they don't really care. The majority here wouldn't self-identify as atheists because I suspect they want to maintain a vague sliver of hope that some kind of afterlife may be out there somehow.

  • @wimsweden Right. I used to engage in a lot of discussion about God and spirituality. I used to think about the issue a lot, debate about it a lot and really take part in the great question. After doing that for a while, I realized that it was not really a productive area of discussion. I didn't feel like I gaiend too much from it. At first the exposure to different ideas is beneficial, but I don't feel like I gained much after that. So I decided to just not care.

  • @KrfNYC2

One final question. What would you prefer: an afterlife but no god, or a god but no afterlife? I think that's where most Swedes struggle: they don't give a toss about a god in and of itself, then just want the afterlife that may come with it. It's wishful thinking IMO, but perfectly understandable.

  • @wimsweden Well I have hard time imagining one without the other. It depends on what kind of afterlife and what kind o God. What does each one do for me?

  • @KrfNYC2

"Well I have hard time imagining one without the other." Humour me. ;-)

"It depends on what kind of afterlife and what kind of God." Let's say a fulfilling afterlife where you are eternally preserved as a person together with everyone else versus a deistic god concept.

"What does each one do for me?" I'm not really sure what you mean by that.

  • @wimsweden Well I imagine that the afterlife would give me an eternity of bliss. What would the God give me?

  • @KrfNYC2

"What would the God give me?"

    This life.

  • @wimsweden So my options are have this life and then a wonderful afterlife, or have no life at all...correct?

  • @KrfNYC2

No, I'm asking whether you would prefer the scenario where you only have this finite life given to you by a god (no afterlife), or the scenario where this life is followed by an eternal afterlife but no god exists.

  • @wimsweden Well I suppose I would like enternal bliss in the afterlife.

  • @KrfNYC2

If a god exists and he only give you this life and no afterlife, would you still be grateful to that god?

  • @wimsweden I don't know.

  • @KrfNYC2

Your answer does seem to indicate that the desire to believe in a god is strongly tied to the desire for an afterlife. I don't know that much about Buddhism, but the Buddha apparently advised against belief in gods because it was just one more thing you would attach desires to (like the one for an afterlife), when desires are exactly what you're trying to get away from (at least in Buddhism).

  • @wimsweden Maybe. I think that my belief is more so based on my inability to imagine anything else explaining the presence of the universe. I am a big fan of he Buddhist principle of freeing yourself from desire. It can be found in several eastern religions.

  • If the story of Noah isn't an historical fact and it isn't to be taken literally why is it in the bible? What is the lesson here? That god exists and he's a big bully gone raving vengefully mad? Is it simply an illustration of his power? His 'unconditional' love or lack thereof? Perhaps I presume too much asking believers to think or question. They're too busy cultivating belief and throwing out reason.

  • Christians so often seem to have a kind of retarded silly expression on their smug faces ~ has anyone else noticed that?

  • @andthereisntone they are delusional morons who literally think that by belonging to christianity they are better and morally superior people. fat zionist assholes who practice dangerous superstitious traditions for no reason other than mommys advice and a massive pussy ass fear of death

  • @AMpufnstuf here here.

  • @andthereisntone Personality disorder.

  • @andthereisntone I think its the other way around you atheist think your better we except were wrong we cant handle things were muck on the ground you think your better i would say im just as bad as you and i can say that because i know my many thins i have done that are bad,BUT i can say that i know Jesus as the ONLY WAY to be happy. You are just searching i'm not i already have what i'm looking for.I say this because i am standing for what is true. You know theres a God don't ignore him.

  • @icewomen881 '... were muck on the ground ' -see what horrible beliefs your poisonous bronze age based religion indoctrinates into you.

  • @andthereisntone Religon?HAHAHA No it's not that it's a realtionship with Jesus Christ;) And yah compared too Jesus Christ who was perfect on this earth we are.He had no sin on Earth, but we sin daily.Nobodys perfect, but Jesus Christ was!

  • @quinnmcguee

    That irked me too.

  • @quinnmcguee

:) Yeah, I wonder whether he openly says it, because he's openly pro-gay.

  • "Catholic policy is 'no child's behind left'' - Christopher Hitchens.

  • That priest is making a bleep on the gaydar :p

  • @sensur1 hee hee ---- more that a blip!!!!

  • @sensur1 no shit

  • @sensur1

    lol. same here =)

  • @sensur1

I don't even have gaydar, but that guy handed me one and all the electrical fluid sprayed onto my face.

  • @sensur1 He's actually a liberal priest that supports Gay marriage so he could possibly be gay LOL

  • @sensur1 HA HA no kidding!
