  • i have the jr model

  • damn i want one but no one is for sale

  • combats pointless without another person to pay with

i know for a fact u got that from ebay u shouldnt have got it with the box and game boxes you got fewer games and controllers and replaced that with packaging

  • u say asteroids is one out of three games that r good THERES TONS OFGOOD GAMES EVEN PAC-MAN WHICH I DONT THINK IS CRAP!

  • i have one with about 50 some odd games

    im 13

  • This is 4 bit.

  • No it's 8 bit.

  • The Nintendo Entertainment System and SEGA Master System were 8 bit. The Atari 2600 was (kinda) 4 bit, but certainly not 8 bit.

  • No it was 8 bit. You obviously do not know much about computing in the 80's. Computers were never lower than 8 bit. The number of bits in a CPU are simply the number of channels data can be processed through. Open a 2600. You will see 8 solder joints on the CPU.

  • these came out in the 70's i have one

  • 1977. Mine was made in 83. I only have a 4 switch.

  • mine was a 1978 model. 4 switch. game select switch broken off. will post video of it. i not 39 years old. only 28. Mine has also been in family since new

  • Actually 31 years old.

  • 8 BIT

  • its sommething to argu about but its mor than 4 bit but less then 8 bit

  • Sorry, that comment is old, and I didn't research it. I know the Atari 2600 is 8 bit now.

  • I have 533 Atari 2600 games on my computer.

  • you should be more gentle with those boxes and games. those are antiques.

  • You need 2 players for Combat. How dare you say it is boring lol. Had a whale of a time playing Combat with my mom and dad during the school summer holidays in the early 80s.

  • Yeah Combat is kick ass. It was my first 2600 experience back in 2002.

  • Wow, That 2600 looks like it is brand freaking new.Amazing!

  • I parted one from the '80s just like that (I needed switches for my older Atari 2600, made in 1978).

  • I use to own an Atari 2600 i even had the et game

  • Wow, those are in good condition, and you got the boxes for 'em! Oh, yeah i think it was 4 or 8 bit. The snes was 16 bit though. Hold on to those, and don't sell them. Oh, yeah ever heard of et on atari? it sucked. i saw a factory sealed copy of it on ebay for 50 DOLLARS!!!!!! WHO WOULD PAY THAT MUCH FOR IT?!?!?!?!

  • the 2600 was 8 bit.

  • I have an Atari pong model c-100 and im the same age as you (a little bit younger)

  • lucky, i got a NES with all the stuff... in the plastic and styrofoam...

  • That's a gorgeous 2600. Liked the video, wish more people were into these older systems!

  • Thanks!

  • im 13 and im into older games =3

  • why dose everybody always say when there 13?

  • just to explain that they're still a noob in case they make any mistakes

  • lol half the games on atari are pure crap but neat little colection you got there

  • shit man hold on to that, it looks like it's in great condition

  • Dude, you're so on about the difficulty switch comment!!!! Yes, it should just be easy or hard.

  • cool. u know when u grow up u can sell it for verry mouch money! :D

  • Man, you got a 2600 and it looks like THAT? Seriously it looks like you just bought it! Not a joke either.

  • Ah, a mint game collection and you're throwing it around!!!! Small set of games though. Used to love that Pac-Man when I was 6. How did you get it attached to the new TV?

  • cool ive got also one of those old crap, somewhere in my hardware storage ^_^

  • i just got 1 today for 20

  • The reason the paddles had 2 wires and only 1 connector was so that you could have 4 controllers plugged in at the same so you and 3 friends could play 4 player games of games like Breakout, Super Breakout, and Warlords.

  • i didn't say there's only 3 good atari games out there, i said i have 4 games and only 3 of them are good. (cough, Pac-man)

  • fuck you pac man is awsome on the atari

  • Comment removed

  • ummm there's still no difference between the six switch and four switch

  • well the 4 switch has 4 switcehes

    LOL

  • How in the living hell did you get your hands on all that in such good quality!?!?!

  • It was my dad's believe it or not.

  • Cool review. I had an Atari 2600 back in the day. I also had Pac-Man, Combat and Asteroids.

  • i notice a lot of things wrong about this video but i gotta point this one out

16BIT!!!! 16 bit is SNES(super Nintendo) and sega genesis thats like less than eight(though I'm not sure because people didn't are about how many "bits" a games graphics were) each cartridge itself was only 4K back then

  • The 2600 wouldnt even qualify as an 8-bit system would it?

  • Comment removed

  • Yes the 2600 was an 8 bit system.

  • atari was 8-bit

  • i believe the difficulty a/b was used for difficulty variations but you would probably need the Manuel to see what they are but then again i don't own one (yet) and that consoles is older than me

  • ok the difficulty switch in the back that says a and b means easy and hard. the reason it is confusing is because it doesnt work for all of the games. some games have difficulty and some they do nothing. yes your right, the one difficulty switch is for one controller and the other switch is for the other controller. by the way you should take more care of your atari. it is 30 years old and can break easy. you are lucky you have a system in that good of shape. take care of it.

  • hey i have a question umm why do some ataris have 2 controller ports and some 4? i have 4 and i was just wondering that?

  • well i have never seen an atari 2600 with 4, but i have seen the atari 5200 with 2 and 4. i think it is just so more people can play. also i think the one with 4 might be better.

  • thats good quality...

  • Don't throw the boxes around like that you'll damage em. Cool vid though.

  • pacman for the atari 2600 SUCKS!!

  • quit expecting to much of pacman! dude its an atari 2600? what would you expect?

  • Play Ms. Pacman. That's what people expected. That was actually really good.

  • your a atari fan too? really cool! what games do u have for it?

  • I have pac-man, Combat, Night rider, and asteroids.
