@obxgrrl Thanks for the comment. There are 2 reasons for the capo - First: the tuning is a variation on an Open C (CGCGCD) - the capo puts it into D which is what fiddle, pipe and squeeze-box players expect in sessions. Second: it's a bit less stretch for the left hand fingers - I sometimes practise without the capo and than I find it easier when the capo goes on.
Thanks fr the comments Jack. The tuning is CGCGCD which I have sometimes seen referred to as C9 tuning. It's a variation from CGCGCE and CGCGCEb which I use for other tunes.
yes i have..! it's just as great! "tishma" is "listen", "ben adam"="man" "ata"="you are" "madhim"="amazing". thats hebrew/ivrit. now, do you read any kind of music or play by ear? (i'm doing a survey among youtube best guitarists)
Thanks for the translation. I can read music extremely slowly. I work best memorising by ear and going over a tune many times and from tablature. Best for me is finding a tune in midi format and using a wonderful programme called Tabledit to instantly produce the music notes and the guitar tablature. for me to manipulate. That's how I arranged all the Carolan tunes on my web site.
Beautiful playing. Why do you capo at the 2nd?
