@Gheorgyi Personally, i love it when a bio of the composer or any interesting information at all is presented with a video: it adds quite a bit to be able to read it while listening to the music. Most folks won't bother to click on a link and view stuff off-site: far more will read things if they are presented directly instead of indirectly: that's just the way human nature works.

Non si può tenere una valuta solo per una questione storica, anche perchè a dirla tutta anche la lira è cambiata negli anni (ricordo, per esempio, le 5 lire col delfino o le 2 con la spiga) e poi con l'Euro abbiamo mantenuto i riferimenti storici ai singoli Paesi. E se non ci fosse stato l'Euro, avremmo avuto una moneta ancora più debole in vista della crisi...

In opera "symphony" stands for a strictly structured musical form at the beginning of a work; overture is less structured, even if it's at the beginning of an opera too. Btw it's not me who decided that, feel free to check other official tracklists, you'll find that it's called "symphony" everywhere.

Catania regna però Bellini ci è nato solamente. Infatti ha studiato a Napoli ed ha agito principalmente a Milano, poi a Parigi dove purtroppo è morto dopo i Puritani. Comunque resta una gloria della vostra città, anche se per mio conto la vera grande gloria di Catania è Giovanni Verga.... e Majorana che a quanto si dice è stato il vero scopritore della fissione atomica (pare) ... e ancora il Superpippo nazionale.

Ha potuto studiare a Napoli grazie al Comune di Catania, che ne ha intravisto le capacità e gli ha preferito di perfezionarsi. Non dimenticare che la Sicilia era stata annessa al regno di Napoli: se un grande compositore nascesse oggi a Potenza (per dire), rimarrebbe lì tutta la vita o andrebbe a Roma? Questo è un discorso che si potrebbe fare di qualsiasi grande compositore che, per motivi di studio e professionali, nell'avanzamento di carriera si è spostato.

Sorry, c'è un refuso: "gli ha permesso di perfezionarsi". Concludo dicendo che Mozart era di Salisburgo; è vero, deve molto alle trasferte italiane e ai successi viennesi, ma non per questo si può andare a dire a quelli di Salisburgo "beh, alla fine ci è nato solamente" :)

I agree, Wiki is weak as primary reference, but it's good to give a main idea about the composer (or the subject) and I didn't want to waste my time translating italian works (more relevant) about Bellini. YouTube isn't my work. This is just a starting point.

Amazing that a child of two would have an interest in Theory music. He must have been very patient. Also regarding his sixth year like mozart composing at that age shows the genius streak. How wonderful to have such talent and a great family. But sad that he died at an early age.

I cannot believe what I read here? Is it possible you've never heard of Bellini? You do not know Norma, Sonnambula, Il Pirata, I Puritani? You certainly have your own reasons and tastes. Without that "guy" we certainly would not have the Donizetti, Rossini and Verdi. A major key in opera.

In fact, Rossini had already written most of his best works when Bellini became a composer. But I totally agree with you, Bellini is a keystone in the opera and in the italian "belcanto". As an italian, I'm proud of all these italian examples of universal culture!
