@Mp5Drummer hey, I was wondering what exactly is the difference between the novo china and the normal china? I;ve been trying to look it up, but haven't found much
@cannibalcorpse135 Basically, you know how a lot chinas are played flange down? As in the edge of the cymbal is pointed towards the floor so you don't crack it or chew your sticks up on the edge. That means you need to flip the china over and play it with the bell pointing down which makes it stay "fallen over" in one direction, so it doesn't absorb a lot of the shock from a strike and feels weird. The bell is inverted on novo chinas so you can play flange down but it moves like a normal cymbal.
sounds almost like a beautiful, mellow cymbal in this demo. ;-) but when you hit it, this china is very loud, heavy and bright sounding with a long sustain. one of the most aggressive chinas that I know.
Kudos to the drummer, practicing with the hands switched really open other doors

Whats the difference between a Novo China and a regular china?
brootaltoaster 1 year ago
@brootaltoaster The Novo is already upturned as normally drummers play them. It allows you to use the bell as well.
Salzcamino 1 year ago
@Salzcamino Exactly. And then he mounts it the other way around. Guess he doesn't get the idea of a Novo China ;)

Love this china! The reverse bell makes it even better. I prefer this one over the 18"
Thanks to Danny Carey turning me onto this cymbal! : )

why is it so BLUE?
cuz of the light?
DJBC2006 2 years ago
Yeah it's the light. It's really a shiny, deep, gold color like the rest of the 2002s.
outlaw6066 2 years ago
Actually gold/bronze color.
