PLEASE..You're going to kill othere drivers with that glare. If you're going to go HID, then do it the right way, not to mention LEGAL. one word.. RETROFIT!
Going to go HID? This vehicle is already HID equipped, so the factory projector headlights with sharp cut-offs and factory equipment will be more than adequate. It is merely a color change on the Kelvin light scale giving my already HID lights a bluer hue. If an HID system was installed on a non HID car without projectors I could see your point, but take into consideration the set up of this vehicle.
How about cars with projectors but without an HID kit. Are hid projectors different from regular halogen projectors? Am I going to get too much glare from HID's in regular projectors (ones that didnt come with HID bulbs from factory). Hope I asked this clearly enough
I understand your question and in my opinion and I can't be 100% positive, but projectors that are high quality should be set up for an HID conversion. I say high quality because all projectors will vary hence different light cut offs and color. It should be fine, what car and set up are you using? I will give you more insight if you need it!
It's a 2009 Subaru WRX. The STI has HID's but I am almost certain they are not the same projectors. I would think that these are good projectors though. What are the main differences between HID and regular Halogen projectors.
I believe the main difference is that HID projectors have a sharper cut-off to give your lights that upward tick look in order to have most of the light consolidated and not as a "flood" light like halogen. These projectors should work fine, but I would double check on a subaru forums site to be positive. My advice - go for it! The projector should be fine.
My friend has a 08 Subaru Legacy. It came with halogen projectors. He had HIDs in them for about a year with no problem. There's still a nice cut off line. There's still only a little glare, but that's because the whole housing is chrome and some light reflects off the housing every where. But if they were to be blacked out, I believe that problem would be eliminated.
I fucking hate HID nazi's like you. That Bimmer has projectors and factory HIDs homo. He simply swapped the bulbs for a different temperature. No glare, Just a sharp blue BMW cut off line.
Anywho, even retrofits are illegal because they do not come factory.
no shit that bmw had stock projectors.. are you telling me that that gallant has a factory HID set up with projectors.. i dont think so dumbass.. and yes they will kill other drivers with those hid conversion kits.
cool video, i just bought a 2001 330i last week and one of the hid bulbs on it looked yellow and a lil burnt out so i purchased 8000k after watching this vid since it really helped me see how it would look on my bimmer, thanks
yup i bought from cqlight many times bout like 10 hid systems fromthem.....great company had some problems with my ignitors before called them up shipped them back they covered it right up and got them back to me in like 3 days was pretty impressed.
The wiring should be fine, I have had zero problems with mine, and countless other people have had great experiences. As far as looking for the blue tinge - 8000K is very blue. 6000K is a friendly medium and better for visibility. I just love the look of 8000K as it is a sharp blue but isn't purple and still decent for visibility.
I'm looking to convert to HID's but cannot decide on 6000k or 8000k, i want a blue tinge that is obvious yet subtle and not straight outright blue. I have an 07 CIVIC VTi.
the galant looks sick. i have a 2003 galant with 8k HIDs just low. wanting to upgrade and get the high and low beam

@MrEsmerturk89 Stock is just under 5000K but the upgraded bulbs that are shown toward the middle of the video are 8000K.

The Gallant is an 8000k bulb too? It looks purple like a 10000k or 12000k.

now get clear corner lenses, and put in dual changing white/amber smt bulbs and that will set it off nicely

Those are some nice looking lights and one hell of a galant!!! The car sounds fine after the first part of the video. It sounds like the mic to me.

Just the mic on the camera sounding weird - when I heard the tape I thought the same thing. In person car sounds great.
