There are many religions and many interpretations of religion. Mormonism is a religion like Christianity, Isalm, Buddhism, Judaism, etc. One shouldn't be defensive about these differences - these religions are different so why not acknowledge these differences? I don't see why any non-Christian religion, or adeherent thereof, would seek to identfiy with Christianity. My problem is not with voting for someone who embraces a different religion, but with someone who would hide what they belive.

I am a Mormon. The John scripture means that there is literally 'no other god before me' ie: worhsip me, and not false idols. I kind of agree, that they hold out the core beliefs. I know this because I have argued with newly converted Mormons who do not think God had wives, or they can become a God, etc. Which to me is them lying to people to get them to convert... No I do not think religion should be an asepct to politics.

The two are different faiths. The Mormons until the early 70's even told you that they weren't Christians and stated that they were Mormons(LDS).
Christians believe in the trinity, where Mormons don't. Christians believe that Christ was born in Bethlehem "the land of Judah", Mormons are taught that it took place in Jerusalem Alma 7:10.

I took a religion class in college that was taught by a Baptist Minister and when the Church of jesus Christ of Latter day Saints (Mormons) was covered, it was categorized under Christianity and as a Protestant religion. Catholicism, Judaism, and Islamic faiths are other categories. This video is biased against the Mormon faith PERIOD.

The Trinity was never taught in the Bible, the trinity was made official through the Nicean creed, about 4 to 5 centuries after Christs death. If you look at the founder of many Churches Christ was not the founder. National Baptist founded by man, Southern Baptist founded by man, AME Church founded by man. Part#1 Sure, I think I see what you mean Laura. Definately the gospel is eternal, never changing for Christ is the same today, yesterday and forever. However, when Christ established His church it was upon a "foundation of Prophets" and Apostles who held Gods authority(Priesthood). After his death Christ continued to lead his Church by revelation to his aposltes. However because of the wickness of the people the Apostles and many righteous church members were killed.
Part#2 The Lord took his priesthood and church from the earth. There was no longer a church on earth directed by revelation. As a result many plain and precious truths were lost because men relied on human wisdon to understand the gospel.(Amos 3:7) The question to ask is if Joseph Smith was really called by God to restore the fullness of the gospel to the earth again? You can find out by reading the Book of Mormon, studying it out, and sincerely praying to know if it is true.

Calm down. Mormonism is a very complex religion. You can't expect one young member to know everything about his church. We believe that if you are righteous, baptized, and married, you are able to go to a special degree of heaven where you will be able to have spirit children and preside over them on their own earth (as much as I understand it).
Plus, I think saying that space is where God lives is a very satisfying explanation as to why all this extra matter and stars and stuff is here.

My understanding is that in the Book of Mormon that people of color were "marked" by God as not having God with them, so they didn't know whether they could have it or not, cause it made it sound like their descendants were bad, but that wasn't true.

Yes, Joseph Smith did think dark skinned people could get into heaven. That's not full racial equality though. If it were, black people wouldn't have needed to be allowed into the priesthood, because getting into heaven should have been enough racial equality for them.
Let's not get confused about exactly what Smith thought. In 2 Nephi 5:21, Smith has God make the Lamanites' skin dark specifically in order to make them "not be enticing", and in the next verse, even "loathsome". Smith found dark skin unattractive, so he put his racism in his book.
And he's very clear about how dark skinned people will get into heaven, too. In the original 1830 edition of the Book of Mormon, in 2 Nephi 30:6, the Lamanites will convert to Mormonism and then "they shall be a white and delightsome people."

There are many religions and many interpretations of religion. Mormonism is a religion like Christianity, Isalm, Buddhism, Judaism, etc. One shouldn't be defensive about these differences - these religions are different so why not acknowledge these differences? I don't see why any non-Christian religion, or adeherent thereof, would seek to identfiy with Christianity. My problem is not with voting for someone who embraces a different religion, but with someone who would hide what they belive.

I am a mormon and I do find it disturbing that the church isn't more open about it's doctrine. I find it dishonest and I believe it creates more problems than it dodges. Own up to it. If it is true then what do you have to fear? I found this video very accurate pertaining to what the church really teaches. Although I would like to vote for Mitt Romney it does make me question his integrity when he states that the strangest thing about our religion is the story of the flood. That's just not true!

I kind of agree, that they hold out the core beliefs. I know this because I have argued with newly converted Mormons who do not think God had wives, or they can become a God, etc. Which to me is them lying to people to get them to convert... The two are different faiths. The Mormons until the early 70's even told you that they weren't Christians and stated that they were Mormons(LDS).
Christians believe in the trinity, where Mormons don't. Christians believe that Christ was born in Bethlehem "the land of Judah", Mormons are taught that it took place in Jerusalem Alma 7:10.
I hope this helps with what they are trying to show.

I took a religion class in college that was taught by a Baptist Minister and when the Church of jesus Christ of Latter day Saints (Mormons) was covered, it was categorized under Christianity and as a Protestant religion. Catholicism, Judaism, and Islamic faiths are other categories. This video is biased against the Mormon faith PERIOD.

Hi poppso, boths books are correct. "By two to three witnesses shall every word be estabished." The Book of Mormon is a volume of Holy Scripture comparable to the Bible. It is the record of God's dealings with the ancient inhabitants of the Americas and contains, as does the Bible, the fullenss of the everlasting gospel. I have read the Book of Mormon many times have found through study and prayer and by the testimony of the Holy Ghost it is Gods word not another gospel.

The difference in the Mormonism vs. Christianity (please realize that in this case i am using the term Christianity under category of an evangelical) is that Mormons do not hold the same leverage, that is, that they can not tell some one they are going to hell. There is none in there faith, from what i know of. (Please do correct me if i am wrong). So in conclusion, i think it is of great value for one to accept others words

The Trinity was never taught in the Bible, the trinity was made official through the Nicean creed, about 4 to 5 centuries after Christs death. Look the Trinity up in the Harpers Bible Dictionary, it says the same thing. So who founded all the other Christian religions? Weird beliefs? Part#1 Sure, I think I see what you mean Laura. Definately the gospel is eternal, never changing for Christ is the same today, yesterday and forever. However, when Christ established His church it was upon a "foundation of Prophets" and Apostles who held Gods authority(Priesthood). After his death Christ continued to lead his Church by revelation to his aposltes. However because of the wickness of the people the Apostles and many righteous church members were killed.

Part#2 The Lord took his priesthood and church from the earth. There was no longer a church on earth directed by revelation. As a result many plain and precious truths were lost because men relied on human wisdon to understand the gospel.(Amos 3:7) The question to ask is if Joseph Smith was really called by God to restore the fullness of the gospel to the earth again? You can find out by reading the Book of Mormon, studying it out, and sincerely praying to know if it is true.

I am proud to say that I am a Mormon! They only had 1 Mormon that was on the video & who's to say if he is even active or not. Each person came from a different church and I am sure have different beliefs from each other. Why can't Romney turn to his spiritual leaders, like Pres. Hinkley or Monson. If Joseph Lieberman were President, wouldn't he have a Rabbi as his spiritual leader? Of course he would because that is HIS spiritual leader!

Haha...this movie makes me laugh! I am a devout Mormon and find it quite humorous! I just don't understand why the whole documentary was based on non-members accounts of the religion! As for the temple...when did the temple stop becoming a part of our lives?The temple is not a secret either, but sacred.That is why members choose not to discuss the spiritual things that happen inside the house of the Lord.

Calm down. Mormonism is a very complex religion. You can't expect one young member to know everything about his church. We believe that if you are righteous, baptized, and married, you are able to go to a special degree of heaven where you will be able to have spirit children and preside over them on their own earth (as much as I understand it).
Plus, I think saying that space is where God lives is a very satisfying explanation as to why all this extra matter and stars and stuff is here.

My understanding is that in the Book of Mormon that people of color were "marked" by God as not having God with them, so they didn't know whether they could have it or not, cause it made it sound like their descendants were bad, but that wasn't true.

Yes, Joseph Smith did think dark skinned people could get into heaven. That's not full racial equality though. If it were, black people wouldn't have needed to be allowed into the priesthood, because getting into heaven should have been enough racial equality for them.

Let's not get confused about exactly what Smith thought. In 2 Nephi 5:21, Smith has God make the Lamanites' skin dark specifically in order to make them "not be enticing", and in the next verse, even "loathsome". Smith found dark skin unattractive, so he put his racism in his book.

Look below, right in the middle of the group you will see the deceiver, Mitt Romney, a major player in the globalist agenda that Ezra Taft Benson warned you about. Well here he is, Mr. Romney, the wolf in sheeps clothing. He is a liar, a deceiver, a fake, and a traitor. A true patriotic American would never join the CFR. Mr. Romney is a socialist in disguise.
