Yep, I prefer it that way. I tried the usual style, but I found it wobbly when I'm playing squeeze notes, and I didn't like using two shoulder straps, so I do it like that. It feels funny for a short while, but after that it feels quite natural. Maybe not suitable for advanced playing, but that's beyond me anyway.
Hey - this is lovely! I notice you play with your thumb behind the fingerboard. Is this intentional? I've only seen German oompah-style plaers playing with their thumbs there. Seems to work for you I guess.

how did you learn the tune?, i know that princess royal is a very popular tune and spiers and boden have done a set with it.
i'm borrowing a melodeon and have only got as far as being able to play speed the plough :(
