@ayrinneify I think it's more that he sees them differently, since they are different people. Irikah was his first love, whereas Shep is someone who's revived his broken heart in his final hours. Though he does call Shepard "another Siha", so I think he loves each one equally. He just compared Irikah to Arashu at first because of the effect she left, he was younger and hadn't experienced it before.

lol I started with Kelly, flirted with Jacob, fell for Thane, accidentally flirted a little too much with Garrus, turned Garrus down, let Jacob die in battle so I didn't have to turn him down in the end, and Kelly died so it all didn't matter. I wanted Thane anyway :D
Non-loyal team members there die after the fall. Hmmm... either you have a beneficial glitch or there is a small chance of survival and you are unnaturally lucky! Congrats, either way.

If you desperately can't decide, choose one, then run through the game again with the same character and choose the other. Long-term, but it gives you two saves with the only difference being who you have romanced.
It's my first time playing through the game and I had pursued Jacob to start then Thane came along. I was swept off my feet :D
It was more like a Love Square or Pentagon though [because he mentions other interests to me] with Jacob and him and me and Kelly and Garrus got involved since my sister had played whiled I peed >:(

I was very surprised that the german voice of Thane is nearly as good as the english (german dubbing sucks most of the time). Though it's definitely a matter of taste, I prefer the german version (check it out yourself).
Nevertheless, I will buy the english version of ME3, to get it right :D

Every time he says "I look forward to the memories" it really does manage to shake me to my core and cry, every time!! xD it could be because im a total sap, but I think Thane is the deepest character in ME2. I would love to see him follow through to ME3

I like Thane, but I don't agree with having him on the cover. You don't even get introduced to him until the second act of the game, and there were no drell as far as I remember featured in the first game. I'd rather have had Tali or Jacob on the front. Ideally I'd have had Garrus but obviously that would have risked giving away that he was the Archangel.
@LoafOfPint He was probably put on the cover because of his striking appearance. While I really like his character, I don't see him as integral to the story...just a fun diversion.

@Ava7777 Thane is driven by a vague sense of performing one last righteous deed before passing away and his race is not directly affected by the Collectors...atleast not yet. Garrus had personal reasons for pursuing Saren so his appearance on the cover of ME1 is more justifiable. I'm sure others will disagree though.
@FliesbyHandles That's still not a great reason to put him on the cover. Like I said before you don't even have to recruit him. He can be left on the citadel. If anyone should have been on the cover it probably should have been Liara. She played a much more important role to the story then Garrus. Is it really a problem that Thane was on the cover of ME2? I'm not bothered by Garrus or Thane being on the cover. It is just a box cover. The only person that really matters to the game is Shepard.

I only guessed at why Thane would be featured, in response to LoafofPint's comment, and gave a reason why the Garrus cover made a little more sense even if he too was not very important to the story.
@Ava7777 I think you're missing the point of the cover art. While you try to make the cover art relevant to the game, the most important part is to attract attention. While Liara or could have attracted attention as a blue Asari or Turian, no one has seen a drell before.
@LoafOfPint They also shouldn't have promoted Jack and Grunt so heavily, it completely ruined the shock factor when you first see them. But the cover people should have been Miranda, and either Mordin or Jacob.

@LaughingGnomePro I finally did create a male that I used for two games but it took some time getting used to his dull voice. Some people actually prefer it because it supposedly allows them to form their own emotions about what's being said. Eh, I just call it bad voice acting! haha

I congradulate Bioware in making this character and surprising me. XD When I heard about Thane and saw his trailer, I thought he would be this mean assassin. XD Boy! Was I wrong! When I saw vids and played the game myself, I saw how sensitive, cool, collected, and romantic the guy is. I was in shock and I have grown attached to Thane. His story is sad and I wish they show us a comic about his life. When he says Siha, I get this warm feeling =) So cute. Way to go to his voice actor. He is EPIC!

It's my first time playing through the game and I had pursued Jacob to start then Thane came along. I was swept off my feet :D
It was more like a Love Square or Pentagon though [because he mentions other interests to me] with Jacob and him and me and Kelly and Garrus got involved since my sister had played whiled I peed >:(
I'm a little worried about dropping Jacob and Garrus because I may've lost thier loyalty

I was very surprised that the german voice of Thane is nearly as good as the english (german dubbing sucks most of the time). Though it's definitely a matter of taste, I prefer the german version (check it out yourself).
Nevertheless, I will buy the english version of ME3, to get it right :D

Every time he says "I look forward to the memories" it really does manage to shake me to my core and cry, every time!! xD it could be because im a total sap, but I think Thane is the deepest character in ME2. I would love to see him follow through to ME3

I like Thane, but I don't agree with having him on the cover. You don't even get introduced to him until the second act of the game, and there were no drell as far as I remember featured in the first game. I'd rather have had Tali or Jacob on the front. Ideally I'd have had Garrus but obviously that would have risked giving away that he was the Archangel.

@Ava7777 Thane is driven by a vague sense of performing one last righteous deed before passing away and his race is not directly affected by the Collectors...atleast not yet. Garrus had personal reasons for pursuing Saren so his appearance on the cover of ME1 is more justifiable. I'm sure others will disagree though.

@FliesbyHandles That's still not a great reason to put him on the cover. Like I said before you don't even have to recruit him. He can be left on the citadel. If anyone should have been on the cover it probably should have been Liara. She played a much more important role to the story then Garrus. Is it really a problem that Thane was on the cover of ME2? I'm not bothered by Garrus or Thane being on the cover. It is just a box cover. The only person that really matters to the game is Shepard.

@Ava7777 I don't care for the cover designs in general and I never thought of Thane's or Garrus's appearance as a big issue. I only guessed at why Thane would be featured, in response to LoafofPint's comment, and gave a reason why the Garrus cover made a little more sense even if he too was not very important to the story.

@Ava7777 I think you're missing the point of the cover art. While you try to make the cover art relevant to the game, the most important part is to attract attention. While Liara or could have attracted attention as a blue Asari or Turian, no one has seen a drell before.

I congradulate Bioware in making this character and surprising me. XD When I heard about Thane and saw his trailer, I thought he would be this mean assassin. XD Boy! Was I wrong! When I saw vids and played the game myself, I saw how sensitive, cool, collected, and romantic the guy is. I was in shock and I have grown attached to Thane. His story is sad and I wish they show us a comic about his life. When he says Siha, I get this warm feeling =) So cute. Way to go to his voice actor. He is EPIC!
